WHAT: Tatsuo not dealing with his issues

Look, Tatsuo knows he's not dealing with August appropriately. And frankly, he kind of hates himself for dealing with it this way. Like, really hates himself. He knows he should ask for help, but he's never been big on asking for help in the first place. Beecause it's 'working' for now, at least, that's what he tells himself, even though it's like putting a bandaid on a wound that needs stitches.

[ OOC: If you have CR with Tatsuo and would like for your character to run into him at a bar, feel free to whip up a starter. Otherwise, this is a closed log. Also, restricted to characters 21+. Tatsuo does work with police after all. ]

That's right. With the Yakuza. I was a patriarch, as far as I can tell.

Patriarch, that's like the head of a group, right?

[ majima nods ]

That's right. I had a whole Family that looked up ta me.

Wow. Hey, how does all that work? The structure of a yakuza family, I mean?

Ya got a big clan or something with smaller families inside that. Sometimes those families have families that are subdivisions of them, too, and every family has a patriarch and some lieutenants. Patriarchs of the big families are part of a, I dunno, like a council I guess? For the whole clan.

[Tatsuo lets out a whistle]

Wow, no wonder the police have a whole division focused on organized crime. There must be some massive networks depending where you are. Did your family have any, like... rivals or things like that?

[he's really curious how much Majima is remembering about this organization]

I'm not sure. I don't remember much, but.

[ he's quiet, watching tatsuo for a moment ]

You're not mad?

Why would I be mad? That was a different lifetime.

[Tatsuo rubs the back of his neck]

Besides... other-me, he knew someone who was yakuza. And it wasn't a professional relationship. It seemed pretty personal.

I dunno, 'cause....

[ he shrugs. then again, tatsuo hadn't stopped speaking to him after that mess with his brother, either, so maybe it really was okay. ]

I figured, given the tattoos. Ya find out more about him?

Yeah, a couple things. I still don't know his name, but him and Other-Me are looking for someone together. Seems pretty serious. They were saying something about how they're the only ones who can judge him.

[and it'd definitely that kind of judging, where someone ends up dead]

And he calls Other-Me by his personal name, Ikuo.

[there's that too, he knows his other self's name]

Anyone in your memories got the name Tatsuo, or is it jus' random?

No, but... hold on, I have to write this for it to make sense.

[he pulls a notepad and pen from his pocket and carefully writes out two names]

幾原 龍雄 Kihara Tatsuo

龍崎 イクオ Ryuuzaki Ikuo

[He slides the notepad over to Majima]

Look, the 'Tatsu' in my name is the same kanji as the 'Ryuu' in his name. And then the 'Ki' from Kihara and 'O' from Tatsuo, those can be read as 'Ikuo' when put together.
