TEAM BRANDYWINE LOG
|
After that strange Retrospec post, you may be wondering how to contact this "technician". Luckily, your phone or whatever device you have handy to check the network chooses that exact second to go haywire... Team Brandywine roster: Ann Takamaki, Chiyo Sakura, Elda Marker, Fynn Rygdea, Goro Majima, Jiroutachi, Kurama, May, Shouta Aizawa, Sora, Sorey, Souji Okia (PM). On whatever device you use to view the retrospec application, you may note the following scrolling on the screen instead of the usual options: ALERT: CRITICAL TIME-SPACE ANOMALY ACTIVE. SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... DESIGNATED ADMIN CANDIDATE: EMPLOYEE #91962 M. MAHONEY PLEASE INPUT AUTHORIZATION CODE. The prompt does not seem to be for you, however, as the text prompts continue to scroll, this time with some input. > ********************** ACCEPT ADMIN STATUS Y/N? > y DESIGNATE PROGRAM TO RUN. PLEASE BE ADVISED WE ARE SYSTEM CRITICAL. > run subroutine designation echolocation-alpha CONFIRMED. EMPLOYEES ACTIVE IN AREA: 2 > list employees EMPLOYEES ACTIVE: M. FITZWILLIAM LEVEL 0 ACCESS, INTERN M. MAHONEY FULL SYSTEM ACCESS, ADMIN > search for alternative assets CONFIRMED. SENDING ALTERNATIVE ASSET LIST. Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. TEAM DESIGNATION? > brandywine CONFIRMED. TEAM BRANDYWINE MISSION PARAMETERS? PLEASE BE ADVISED SYSTEM ENERGY LEVELS ARE CRITICALLY LOW. > make contact with sysadmin > contact point entrance 2 > temporary access level 1 granted CONFIRMED. MISSION PARAMETERS SET. TEMPORARY ACCESS LEVEL 1 GRANTED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM BRANDYWINE as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Brandywine's access point is in the Recollé University Basement. Team members will find a door in a hallway they've never seen before so long as they approach it in a group of two or more team members. Only Team Brandywine team members can see or enter the basement sublevels at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they enter the door! The door looks like an ordinary key-card locked door, although it will open without need of a card for Team Brandywine members so long as the entry requirements are met. This is the Team Brandywine Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Brandywine is as follows: WEEK 1: Objective 1; CLEAR: M. Mahoney; MauriceObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. NPC interactions will be rnged from your team roster once per week, and toplevels for those will also be posted, although all team members can hear/see these interactions! |

Got it!! Yay!! Soujirou, do you see the other one anywhere?
no subject
Need it quick! I'm runnin out of places to jump!
no subject
Left, left, there's another pink one further down. [He hurriedly scans the flock of fairies.] The other one is hiding under that yellow platform close to the wall.
no subject
Chiyo looks around, following his words. She sees it. ]
Jump onto that purple one! That'll bring us closer!
[ Unless the fairy decides to toss it to another fairy. What's their luck stat? ]
no subject
Got it! Hold on tight, girly! -May bounced from the red platform just as it disappeared, right to the pink, and just as it attempted to zoom out from beneath her feat, she sprung off of that one towards the purple, and with one final push off...-
That yellow one is gonna disappear immediately. Be ready to grab the key on the way down!
no subject
There's a blue one underneath to the right! Try to reach while falling!
[That's really all he can do, apart from hoping that if they miss they really won't die. Trying to get over there to catch them is out of the question, his breathing is already becoming labored.]
no subject
Because her luck stat is terribad, the fairy tosses the key to its friend five feet up. ]
Ahhhh! I'm sooooooo sorry! I'll get it next go around! I promise!
[ Please let May land on a safe platform next. ]
no subject
Ow... Okay... Try number two... Where is it now?
no subject
It's... over on the other side, about thirty feet above the door. [He's already moving in that direction, with the vague hope that maybe he can catch the damn thing if it tries to escape downwards. But it's a bit of an uphill struggle.] Are you both okay?
no subject
[ She points to help direct May in the vicinity that Soujirou observed. ]
no subject
Can't get away from me, you little punk!
no subject
[There's a terrifying moment of questionable balance as he manages to land on a pinks tile and it starts to move, but actually it turns out to be a good thing. It shunts him along the way at a much more linear path than he'd manage on his own, and he manages to fling himself onto a green platform before it changes direction or something, ending up practically by the door.]
It's still here! [He'll just slide his hoodie off his shoulders just in case.]
no subject
[ Thankfully, they're on a green platform, which means it's stationary. The key is also just slightly out of her arm's reach. She sticks her tongue out as she strains to grab it but fails. ]
Here, May. Take this just in case.
[ Before May figures out what she's doing and protests it, she unties one of her ribbons from her hands, wraps the key she got earlier in it and knots it, and then ties it to May's arm. She boosts herself up on May's back, launches herself, and snatches the key.
It's a success, but she's off balances and slips off May and the platform completely.
It's a straight plunge, but the last logical thought she has before she her fall is: ]
Soujirou, catch!
[ She pitches the second key as hard as she can at him and then screams for her bloody life. ]

Yeah, there's no way he can actually catch any of the falling girls; even if he'd managed to get there on time, physics don't work like that. And while he can be reckless when fighting... no. Plunging into a gaping, bottomless void without any plan for how to save them? Not today.]
May? Chiyo? [He grips the edge of the platform anxiously, praying the intern had been right.] Are you alright? Please say you're alright...
no subject
She's warped outside the university, and Chiyo falls abruptly over. It takes her a a full moment to learn to breathe again after she hits the ground.
She thought she would die even despite what Soujirou said the intern said.
She breathes deeply and coughs, immediately reaching for her phone to text both Souirou and May. She doesn't look around to see if May is with her or not. Her attention is so scattered, she feels nauseous, and she doesn't want anyone to worry because she was stupid. ]
im ok!!!
im somehow outside but im ok!!!
im sorry!!!
[ Apostrophes are for people who have time to think and didn't just fall for what felt like forever. ]
no subject
Look out! -Was about as much warning as she could manage before she collided with the other girl, her cap flying off as she did so, itself catching a breeze to drift slowly down to the floor. Lucky hat.-
no subject
But then it buzzes again, and he belatedly reaches for it, staring in disbelief at the name on the screen. Then there's a moment when he practically crumples to the floor in relief, still clutching the phone and trying to breathe properly through his tightening throat.]
oh tahnk god
I eas so scared for a minute theer
are you outside the building hold on I'm comjng to fetch you
is may okay too
*there are, not there isn't. i can do grammar
May... are you okay?
[ She's absolutely a millennial, though, so she manages a reply asap: ]
may's with me now! see you soon!
no subject
The hell... just happened? Where are we? -It was a little grassy to be the bottom of a death pit.-
no subject
[He crams the key into his pocket, making sure it's secure there. Then he jumps back onto proper solid ground, tosses his hoodie onto the ground and picks up his backpack again, and he's off. He can run on adrenaline for a while longer and deal with his breathing once he can actually see that the girls are really safe.]
no subject
[ That's a plus, isn't it? It's also a sign that Maurice was telling the truth and kind of helpful, which makes him better than Jim in her mind.
If she knew video games better, she'd think they were somehow at a respawn point, but she doesn't, so she isn't.
She turns her head and squints. She's too worn to get up yet. ]
Is that Soujirou.....?
no subject
no subject
I was... really worried there... for a moment. [He's also kind of wheezing a bit, because sprinting up stairs right after Platform Hell wasn't the best decision.]
no subject
Her shoulders shake. She's alive. She could've died. She really could've died. She could be dead, but she's not.
A laugh bubbles up in her throat, a sharp puff of air. ]
Ha...! Yeah. Me, too. I"m really sorry for worrying you. I wanted to —Oh.
[ Her cheeks are wet, and she laughs a little more. Is she happy? Is she relieved? Is she losing it? She doesn't know. She wipes at her tears. ]
—Sorry! I'm sory! I don't mean to— Do you want to go back for your anchor, May? Are you really okay, Souirou? You don't— You sound like you ran really fast. I'm really sorry.
