[That stops her dead in her tracks. Kitten? That's a new one. Her look's amused with a side of puzzled—maybe even incredulous—but she doesn't look insulted.]

'scuse me?

[ Hey, she's not bad-looking. Nisha cocks her head to the side slightly, expression even. ]

You heard me. You got ears, don't you?

[That observation goes both ways; that doesn't make it any less of an odd experience that an older woman's just called her kitten. Freya's still processing how to feel about that. Something about this whole thing feels off, so she treads carefully.]

[A small huff.] Sure I do. Since when's takin' a little stroll to get lunch considered skulkin'?

[As carefully as Freya's capable of, anyway.]

[ You know, she could let it go. Freya's done nothing wrong and they both know that, but Nisha's not about to let her mark go. She shifts her weight, and one hand moves toward the ever-present handcuffs. ]

Usually not. [ The hand's set firmly on her hip. ] Unless you've got a fire hazard on you.

Which I see you do.

[What. For... a lot of reasons.]

[Either this is a prank, some Retrospec-related BS, or the strangest way Freya's ever been hit on.]

[One of her eyebrows arches slightly, the corner of her mouth curling into a smirk. She sees where this is going.] Good thing we've got a professional on the scene, yeah? Believe me, ma'am, it's contained; I'd be a damn poor firefighter if I couldn't handle myself.

[...and Freya takes a moment to remind herself she has a girlfriend now, in case it's the later situation. And to tone it down.]

[ She doesn't let out a laugh, but the corners of her lips twitch upward. ]

Glad you know a professional when you see her. Contained as it is, though, you've gotta have a permit for that kinda thing. So, got one on you, or do we have to take this into that building there?

[Her tone picks up an airy, falsely-exasperated tone.] Must've forgot it back at the station. What, no slap-on-the-wrist for a first-time offender?

[ She seems to consider that for a while, but she reaches into her back pocket to pull out a notepad. Quickly, she writes out a "warning" for Freya--or she starts. ]

What's your name, by the way? To make it official.

[Freya's eyes flick down to the pad. She's really going all the way with this, wasn't she?]

[Very briefly she considers giving Arlene's name just because it'd be funny.]

Freya Yun. [Just gonna casually omit her first name.]

[ Oh yeah. Nisha never does anything half-assed. ]

Freya Yun, [ Nisha repeats, before writing up a warning. Nisha hands it over.

NAME: Freya Yun
OFFENSE: Being too hot to handle, armed and dangerous without a permit, it reads. ]

[It's one thing to see where this was going and to watch her scribbling away. It's another to actually read that on a ticket in her hands. She can't restrain the bark of laughter anymore. And Freya's relieved there wasn't a phone number on it.]

Thanks for the warning, officer. [She's flattered.]

What can I say? Beautiful women are one of my weaknesses.

[ She flashes her a grin. ]

Name's Nisha, by the way. "Officer" is way too stuffy when I'm not actually on the job.

[Not on the job? None of this could really be taken serious to start with, but that sure adds another level of 'Nisha, you shitter' to it.]

We are for most people. [She adds smugly.]

[Freya lifts up the ticket, waving it between two fingers.] Right, then. You had your fun? Hate to cut and run, but I am on a lunch break.

Hah! Isn't that right.

[ You're definitely on her good list, Freya. ]

Sure did. And it was a lot of fun, kitten. [ wink. ] Wouldn't want to keep you from your work.

[She shoots Nisha an amused look at that wink. Freya starts walking backwards as she speaks.]

Yeah, well, enjoy what you can; I'm spoken for. [She pivots on her heel, waving over her shoulder.] Thanks for spicing up the day.
