So Yu will actually shut his eyes and tap numbers into his phone blindly, reopening them only to press the call button. Calling a total stranger can't go TOO poorly, can it? It'll be fine. Once the person on the other end of the line picks up, Yu will launch into, without hesitation: ]

[Cedric had just finished showering when the other calls. He raises an eyebrow when he doesn't recognize the number, but answers anyways. What could possibly go wron-]

[ Karkat gets this text the day everyone receives their bingo cards. Like, probably at most half an hour after it happens. ]

[ he mostly just glanced at it then immediately rolled back over to go back to sleep. yu is lucky that karkat loves him or else he would have ignored this text. ]

[ Man, this whole bingo thing has been weird, to say the least.

Yu has gone along with it from the very start largely out of a desire for answers. It's why he went into the Retrospec building, too. At this point, there isn't much he wouldn't do in the name of figuring out this grand mystery, and a couple of weird gag squares on a strange digital bingo card isn't that much of an imposition in the grand scheme of things.

Still, it's not exactly on his mind as he's out in public, specifically intending just to do a little grocery shopping. They need a few things at the apartment - some vegetables, a new bag of rice, Souji's weekly supply of pudding cups - and it's on his way out of the grocery store that Yu spots a head of fluffy black hair that strikes him as vaguely familiar in a way that takes him a moment to place.

They've never spoken in person before, of course, but Yu can still recognize Akira from his Retrospec profile after a few moments of consideration. He's prepared to think nothing of it and continue on his way home when a thought occurs to him, and he pulls his phone out of his pocket.

... there's a couple of squares on his bingo card that require talking to a stranger ... does Akira count as a stranger? It could be worth a shot ...

For a moment further he considers just which square to attempt to fill. A flash of inspiration occurs to him all at once, and he has to swallow a smile before mentally changing both his course and his plans.

So, anyway, completely out of the blue, Akira will hear a stranger loudly accusing him: ]

You!

[ Yu is like, actually pointing at him. It would be more dramatic if he didn't have a grocery bag dangling off his arm. ]

I knew I recognized you. I could never forget such a face! One I saw so often twisted in an evil smirk... never did I think I'd have the chance to redeem myself, and face you again! This time, there's no escaping justice!

[ Akira is only here by chance, looking at his phone to see what kind of groceries he should pick up for his family. As usual, his parents don't give him a lot to work with... Rubbing his neck, a little exasperated, he's ready to go fight for sales until he sees someone pointing at him.

Blinking slowly, he parses those words, the situation, the atmosphere, and if the possible target is behind/beside him. A couple of seconds pass as he stands there with a slightly perplexed expression, but he does approach Yu with a neutral expression like a normal person. It's unassuming, innocuous. The crowd around them now brushes it off as friends meeting up, finding the initial rise not enough to keep their interest going. ]

[ HOW WRONG THEY ARE... The nuance changes with the last step he takes to close the gap between them, but he moves to the side. Bumping their shoulders, he takes this change to spider his hand up up to grab a hold of Yu by the bicep, making sure he's still enough for him to lean in and whisper ever so faintly, sweetly into his ear: ]

You are far too weak to challenge me.

[ Pulling back, there's only a ghost of what conniving smile he had on his face. Back to his normal self, he raises his eyebrows at the bag. Right. ]

Out shopping?

YUKIKO [ build a sandcastle at the beach at least as tall as you ]

[ At least Yukiko is a good sport. His earlier texts to her about meeting him at the beach had been met with enthusiasm, and Yu finds himself fairly relaxed as he waits for her there. He's actually pretty casually dressed for once in shorts and a t-shirt, along with a pair of flip-flops. Normally he's a bit more stiff than Souji in his day-to-day dress, but building sandcastles at the beach requires a more relaxed look, doesn't it?

Anyway. Once he spots Yukiko coming to meet him, he'll get up from where he's been sitting on the sand and wave, smiling. ]

Hey. Thanks for coming. You ready to start building?

[Yukiko was more than happy to meet Yu, and not just because it'd check off a mark on her bingo game. She honestly liked his company, as ridiculous as he could be, and as stiff, and he was her friend. That, more than most things, she took seriously. So, even if it was just building sand castles, she'd show up and have researched too.

Barefoot, in a plain red t-shirt and white shorts, she trots up with a big bucket and a small trenching shovel.]

Absolutely. I even bought tools, to make it easier!

[ It's around twilight when Yu and Noah make it outside to wander and go find some ice cream. Yu invited him out, to get some air and just to talk. It wasn't hard to lure Noah when a promise of food was involved, that much he's learned.

It's still plenty warm out even as twilight descends, meaning that even as they wander through the park, there's still some food vendors out with their carts. That was what Yu was counting on. ]

Over there. [ He'll point to the cart he knows is selling ice cream bars, and lead the way over. ] Anyway, have you talked to her? That girl from your vision.

[redarm]

[It was completely easy to lure Noah out with the promise of food. Even if he probably would've agreed to spend time with Yu, the promise of food? Made him all the more enthusiastic about it. He'll even step out into the sweltering heat for it. Which man, having to wear long sleeves and gloves sucks in summer time.]

Uh... [He hesitates at the question as he follows Yu] Define "talked".

MINAKO [ share a difficult Retrospec memory ]

[ Yu finds himself lost in thought as he walks back to his shared dorm with Souji this evening; there's quite a bit on his mind. These strange bingo cards that everyone is still filling out, and a memory he dreamed of last night still clings to the edges of his consciousness; it had involved a boy, whose name he now knows, and a bunny...

So lost in his thoughts is he that he doesn't notice he's not alone on the sidewalk -- not until he lightly bumps someone's shoulder. ]

Hi, Yu-kun. Fancy meeting you here.

[She'd been thirty steps away from him, waving until it was obvious he wasn't going to notice her, and so sped up her steps so she could 'bump' into him halfway.]

Are you busy right now? I was about to go grab some dinner, but looking at you so deep in thought makes me want to take a walk.

TATSUMA [ go fishing at a public fountain of some kind ]

[ Today is a more chill day than usual, this strangely busy July. He's sitting on the lip of a fountain with a little notebook, enjoying the warm weather as he jots down some notes. (Those notes are actually ideas for song lyrics, but good luck getting him to admit to that.)

When he pauses it's to work out some kinks in his back and neck, stretching his arms up over his head briefly; when he lowers them back down again, he ends up spotting, to his mild surprise, a friend. ]

Tatsuma-san?

[ Yu will call over to him with a smile, beckoning his friend over with his free hand. His other keeps the notebook safe on his lap. ]

Out for a walk?

[strawberrypunch]

[Oh! It's one of the twins. Tatsuma offers a smile of his own, walking right up to him at the call. He was headed for the fountain anyway, so it doesn't really require much of a change in course.

But once he gets there...]

ANYA [ Go to the Towers and purchase something from Jim's registry to be sent to Jim ]

You know, I wasn't serious about buying 500 rubber duckies, but I'm not sure what to get.

[ They're in the Towers. Yu actually decided to try and buy something off the registry, and Anya's come with him, because lord knows she's nothing if not hype for anything related to weddings, and he wanted her advice. ]

A lot of the gifts on his registry seems like jokes... but would it be a better idea to get something nice...?

[ Try and like ... get in his good graces, or something...? ]

[Weddings are pure and Anya is excited even as they wander into the towers and she hums next to Yu - ]

SILVER [ use your powers around someone new ]

[ In the last few weeks, Peach Beach has been Yu's training area of choice. Less flammable material to worry about, and quite a bit more open space. The only downside is that it's also quite a bit more public... which is why he always tries to come after sundown. It's well past twilight that Yu makes his way to the beach today.

He and Souji have been practicing with Kohryu together, which has made their efforts altogether safer and probably more productive. Though, as with Mada, Yu finds he has an easier time maintaining the Persona than Souji does... Souji's Kohryu flickers more easily and doesn't stay out as long... and Yu can see his brother starting to become frustrated. Tired, even... Souji's looked exhausted pretty often, lately.

Which is why, tonight, he's alone. He wants Souji to just rest, for once, and not push himself. Maybe he'll actually get some sleep...

The whole thing leaves him in a pensive mood as he stands on the beach, one hand outstretched before him. Over his open palm hovers a glowing blue tarot card that spins softly in place while he stares at it, lost in thought. So lost in thought is he that he won't happen to hear anyone approaching him, either. Not till it's too late and he's crushed that card in his hand, causing an immense gold dragon to appear in the air above the waves. ]

[Silver's started to make a habit of coming to the beach on some nights, at least; it's a habit he picked up when he got his Totodile and everyone thought he was strange and wary, and while everyone's been fairly accepting of his little buddy for a while now- much to his absolute bewilderment- it's still a lot nicer to head to the beach at night, when it's quiet, less full of people, and he can just let Totodile swim around as much as he'd like and have fun.

Which is exactly what he's planning to do before noticing a stranger- no, that's the guy that did the speech, isn't he? Or was that his brother- but a vague awareness and starting to approach him doesn't really prepare him for the sudden dragon. It's massive. He's not prepared for it in the least. Even seeing something similar in one of his memories- albeit vaguely- doesn't stop him from standing and watching it in awe like a deer in headlights.

But on the other side of the spectrum, there's Totodile, who has immediately decided that this is a challenge and looks ready to tussle with his insanely large gold dragon, which is an impressive feat given that his expression doesn't tend to change.]
