VALENTINE'S DAY EVENT - BLIND DATING [OPEN]

WHO: Anyone and everyone! Even those who didn't sign up for the event!
WHERE: Anywhere in Recolle
WHEN: Valentine’s Day - Feb 14
WHAT: The log for the blind dates event! Awkward dates and disasters within.
WARNINGS: None!

It’s finally the fated day: Valentine’s.

Some of Recolle’s citizens might be going out, spending the day with their loved ones, while others might be sitting in bars, crying into their drinks. For a number of “lucky” ones, they might have gotten dragged into a blind date!

The Narukami twins have done their jobs. All the matches have been released. Partners have been assigned. Messages have been sent out. Now all that needs to happen are the actual dates. So, run free, everyone. The entire city is there to be their playground. They can go on their own respective dates, join up with other couples, spy on others, sabotage some, anything is fair game. After all, it’s not really fun if someone’s not crashing on another person’s party, right?

( ooc: As promised in the OOC sign-up post, here is the IC post for all the blind dates and related events to occur. This is an open mingle post, so multiple threads can happen anywhere and everywhere. Indicate if the thread is closed if you’d like to keep it private, however! Feel free to use the post as a general mingle as well. Anything is free game here! For any questions, please direct them over here and we’ll try to get back to you ASAP. Have fun! )

"Ohhh, gotcha." The business competitor.

She can't help but bark a laugh at that description. "Oh that sounds awesome. Brain splatter and everything?"

Werewolves are alright, but Vella is pretty disinterested in the vampires.

As the actual movie rolled around, Ryoga quieted down to watch, though a pair of teenagers several rows down were sporadically throwing popcorn at each other. There was also an older man a row or two down with a hacking cough, watching a predecessor film called Mssr Mordred on his cell phone. The current film was something of a remake of the original Mordred.

Frankly, all the mind-bending special effects were giving Ryoga a bit of a headache, and there was not enough punching. However, he did appreciate the action, and also offered Vella a cupcake (though presumably she knew what they tasted like, it only seemed fair since she had none).

There's only so much magic flinging a movie can do before you start to get bored. Plus the confusion of where the characters are and what they're doing in these mirror worlds gets... a little overwhelming.

So she pretty much zeroes in on those teens and old loser. People are watching a movie, punks. Maybe she should throw something at them.

Oh, a cupcake! "Thanks." A polite whisper.

One nice thing about the movie was the main protagonist was played by Lugh Lorrie, who rather than follow the original source material was instead depicting his character as a Vicodin-popping, cynical jerk of a former physician. He crabbed about, occasionally smacking someone with his cane instead of bothering to use the magic he'd been learning.

The teenagers were now alternately kicking each others' seats, though, which was kind of annoying. "Hey! Quiet down!"
