WHAT: The log for the blind dates event! Awkward dates and disasters within.
WARNINGS: None!

It’s finally the fated day: Valentine’s.

Some of Recolle’s citizens might be going out, spending the day with their loved ones, while others might be sitting in bars, crying into their drinks. For a number of “lucky” ones, they might have gotten dragged into a blind date!

The Narukami twins have done their jobs. All the matches have been released. Partners have been assigned. Messages have been sent out. Now all that needs to happen are the actual dates. So, run free, everyone. The entire city is there to be their playground. They can go on their own respective dates, join up with other couples, spy on others, sabotage some, anything is fair game. After all, it’s not really fun if someone’s not crashing on another person’s party, right?

[For someone who makes a living writing "Romance" novels, Jyushimatsu Ono is far from the most romantically active person in Recollé. He rarely goes out on dates. Heck, he rarely even gets to talk to women his own age, lately. So of course, he'd jumped at the chance to sign up for the blind dating pool. Though to be perfectly honest, he'd been half expected his mystery match to stand him up, too. The fact that she hadn't has him in high spirits before they even exchange their first words.

Having arrived just in time to see the bird barrage land, Jyushi picks up his pace as he closes the distance between himself and his date. Cutting through the eye of the feather-storm, he thins out the bird cloud with a few shakes of his arms.]

They call 'em rock pigeons! Cool, right? Maybe they call them that because they're too lazy to fly somewhere warm for the winter! Which is silly, cause they fly really fast when food is involved!

[He smiles cheerfully at Lunafreya - or at least he hopes this is Lunafreya. They'd agreed to meet here at this time, and he sees no one else that fits the description.]

Oh! Right, right! I'm Jyushimatsu! Jyushimatsu Ono. Nice to meet you!

[He bows in greeting, not minding when a particularly fat pigeon chooses that moment to plop down atop his head. Not even head-pigeons could ruin his good mood today! He's out on a date! A real date! On Valentine's Day, no less! He'll have to do his best to make sure this Lunafreya has as good of a time as he does.]

[ Lunafreya only knows the most textbook definition of a date, honestly, and her experience in the courtship scene is laughably nonexistent. Socializing for the sake of socializing is a luxury that Luna often abstains from, though that isn't to say that she doesn't enjoy it; she simply keeps herself far too busy most of the time to actually do it.

When a stranger comes and saves her from certain avian doom, Lunafreya finds herself laughing at his enthusiasm, brushing the hair from her eyes at his approach. She assumes that this is her blind date, and it buoys her spirits; he seems friendly and talkative. ]

An interesting moniker. There's nothing rocklike about them outside of their coloring, but even then... I suppose I felt a bit like I was being pelted with rocks, watching them descend. That growing, overwhelming sense of panic is quite unlike any other feeling, I find.

[ She laughs as she stands, straightening her clothing. At his introduction, she holds out a hand... only to laugh again as a large pigeon makes its home upon his crown. ] It is a pleasure and honor to meet you, Mr. Jyushimatsu. My name is Lunafreya Fleuret. [ She eyes the pigeon as she speaks, silently hoping that it doesn't make itself too comfortable upon her new companion's head... in a manner of speaking. ] I brought you some bread crumbs, also; I was quite taken with the idea of feeding the pigeons, even if the experience has thus far proven to be utterly terrifying.

[Oh! She's laughing! Just as his antics had put her at ease, the pleasant sound of her laughter has a similar effect for him. It's a very good laugh! The thought that he'd been part of it's cause sends a warm, fuzzy feeling straight to the center of Jyushimatsu's chest. No doubt, he'll spend the vast majority of their outing trying to keep a smile on her face.

Carefully, he takes the offered hand, giving it a warm but gentle shake. Should he have kissed it, like they always do in the movies? Nah, that would have probably been taking it a bit too far...]

Bird feeding? Woah! What a great idea! Thank you very much!

[As he peers over at the extra bag of breadcrumbs, Jyushimatsu makes a casual attempt at shooing the head-pigeon away. It flutters up for a moment, before returning back to its original perch.]

Ah, and don't worry! They're not so scary once you get used to them. But if they do gang up on us, I can chase em off again. I watch my dog do it all the time. You can count on me!

[ If Jyushimatsu carries on as he is now, then he surely will have no trouble achieving his goal. Lunafreya hasn't known him for more than maybe thirty seconds at most, but she decides that she likes him. He has a kind face and an even kinder demeanor, so really, what isn't to like?

Had he decided to kiss her hand, she'd likely have laughed. While she likely wouldn't have thought unkindly of him, a nice, neutral handshake likely served his purposes better.

Lunafreya is about to extend an arm to shoo the pigeon off of Jyushimatsu's head as he speaks, but she finds that he beats her to the punch by managing to shake the offending creature off... Only to have it promptly replace itself back where it started. Luna takes that as an opening to swing her arm in its direction, hoping to scare it away. ]

It's a bit of an old-fashioned idea, admittedly, but I felt it would provide a good opportunity for us to get to know one another better. There's less pressure when you don't have to sit directly in front of someone with nothing to do with your hands. [ Her tone is good-natured even as she steps forward, practically slapping the pigeon at this point. ]

The sheer number of them startled me, I must admit. [ Luna laughs again. Holding out the bag of breadcrumbs for Jyushimatsu, she looks to his face, her expression lighting up at his words. ] My dogs don't often chase after pigeons. They're usually far too distracted by people and one another in order to do so... Do you walk your dog in this park very often?
