Prologue (read this and then choose your own adventure from below)
[ Sometimes it's hard to know what to do in situations, especially once you got past the "things I need to do to take care of myself." Like if you wake up one morning and you're suddenly missing an eye, there's certain things you need to do. Make sure you're not still bleeding, try and cope with the fact you're blind on one side. He goes to the drug store to buy an eyepatch to keep people from having to look at that mess. He calls Kiryu, because that feels like a thing he's supposed to do. And then...
The biggest question in is mind is how he's supposed to warn everyone. What, send out a mass text btw i lost an eye don't panic and receive back a million panicked texts? No thanks. On the other hand, not saying anything and showing up to meet someone seems like its ripe for a slew of why didn't you tell me this before, which becomes increasingly more real the longer he goes without seeing people. It was the sort of thing people wanted to know so they could be worried. But Majima didn't want the fuss.
Finally, he decides to just keep going on with his life. Given the discussions he'd had with Kiryu, the lack of an eye thing was clearly part of his old life, so it's not like he stopped living. Or stopped fighting. Or stopped doing any of the important shit he did. Besides, he can't even remember what happened to it in the first place. No use crying over spilled milk...
(Majima no.)
Thus, he resolves to go about his week in the manner he is most accustomed to and you can find him around town, treating everything like it's Just Fine, in one of the following places:]
Mahjong @ The Asian Community Center
[Majima has to admit, regaining Japanese had made playing Mahjong ten times better. For one, he doesn't have to keep second guessing himself on the tiles when they don't have western numbers printed on them and that's pretty sweet. Plus, now he can gossip with the Japanese aunties.
The NPC aunties are pretty shocked about the state of his face but he waves them off and lies and says he fell or something, and besides, he can still play Mahjong so that's all that matters. He's just as enthusiastic, enjoys himself just as much.
If you happened to stop by the Asian community center for some reason other than Mahjong, maybe you'll get to see him hanging with the aunties and playing, or maybe you were invited after talking with him about it so he can teach you. Watch out, though, because they'll give you a real run for your money. Maybe you should ask to play in pennies or just chips.]
Hey, ya wanna play?
Fighting @ Utsuki Dojo
[Easily the most frustrating thing about this is what it does to his ability to fight. He can't go participate in cage matches like this because he'll get his ass kicked. He didn't regain the ability to do things with skewed depth perception and a blind side, only the fact that now he's got those issues.
At least he can go to the dojo where Tatsuo works. He doesn't go regularly, but he's been off and on quite a bit over the years - mostly to visit Tatsuo. It's a good place to spar with someone and work on actual technique instead of just the half-technique half-punch people really hard that he fights with in his matches.
What he really needs is sparring partners. Someone who will try to put him on the floor and won't baby him because of his missing eye. He's gotta learn how to fight in spite of it, how to keep it from being a weakness.
He's determined, at least. And that's a key trait in a time like this.]
Let's Shine Our Best @ Club Sunshine
[If Goro Majima looked like a punk in a tux before he lost his eye, he looks even worse now. Like he's a little out of place in his classy club, a thug who is probably a bouncer and definitely not the owner. Majima can't very well stop working, and he can't just give up and give into expectations. As with most things in his life, he figures if he just tries to handle it and acts like everything is fine it will be. Pushing through things has always been his preferred form of taking care of situations, and this is no exception. If anything, he's resolved to be more charming and more polite like he's aiming for "exceeds expectations" marks.
His coworkers can run into him before they open for the evening, working just as hard as ever to get things ready not a care about his new eyepatch. He won't shy away from talking about it, but he's definitely not bringing it up himself! This may not be the best way to deal with this, but it's his way of dealing with this.
Of course customers will meet him under different circumstances. He'll try not to break his business-character with anyone, but maybe a situation like this is worth actually talking about. Maybe...
No matter what, though, they're all going to shine on together. Having the right attitude is definitely key here.]
BONUS: Last Fantasy XIV
[It's funny, the way how things develop. How a stranger on Retrospec can ask you to play an MMORPG that you say you won't get that deep into but then a few months later you're part of an Free Company and leading new friends into battles for glory and honor. It's fun. It's addicting. Majima plays a catgirl.
In the middle of all of this drama, it's nice to log on and just spend some time messing around in a fictional universe. The irony hits home that he'd made one of her eyes white, now, but he just leans into it all that much harder. So what if Goronyan is blind in one eye?! Goronyan is a badass summoner.
Badassery aside, Majima's always in character and his character is always about helping people. Need a res out in the field? Do you look like you're just dying? Hell yes he's gonna drive by cure you. If you've got the little leaf that marks you're a new player maybe Goronyan will approach you to try and help you out, or maybe you're just surprised someone's in a free company named after Retrospec.]
Goronyan Meowjima signed on.
Goronyan Meowjima Today's the purrfect day to play :3
[Or you could just make fun of this grown ass man for this insistence on cat puns. You do you.]
WILDCARD
[If your character wouldn't be found at any of the above but you'd really like to find him around town, feel free to use this prompt for normal around town things: grocery store, convenience store, buying accessories for the girls, picking out things for the club. wherever you'd actually be caught.]

wildcard
Who beat you up?!
[ Can anybody beat Majima up? IMPOSSIBLE. And yet she can't think of any other reason somebody would wear an eyepatch other than to cover a black eye, unless it's Free Candy Day/Halloween or something and she knows it's not. ]
no subject
Fell down -- [ majima sighs. he's been feeding this line to npcs a lot today but mafuyu will get it, right? if he tells her the truth? that's not traumatic at all to tell a child is it? ] Nah, forget it, I woke up like this 'cause of all the memory bullshit.
no subject
So, what happened? You woke up from a bad dream and slammed your face into the corner of the bedside table?
[ Because honestly, she can see it happening and that's more horrifying than a black eye. ]

community center
-Neither of them were exactly strangers at the community center. It was pretty much the only active connection May had to her own heritage, and in recent months she'd been trying to relearn Japanese instead of using the bits and pieces she remembered from her early childhood. Plus it was fun fleecing some of the older dudes out of favors with some cheap card tricks her old man had taught her.
So there was nothing inherently weird about seeing Majima there. It was why she hadn't even reacted at all seeing him at one of the tables as she walked past on her way to the coffee machine. It wasn't until she actually had to turn to look at him that she saw that.-

[ he takes a step closer to her (which might not actually help, come to think of it), reaching out to put a hand on her shoulder like that might stop her from disrupting all the poor innocent bystanders here. ]

Makoto's mom is probably here, too? I mean, that's his auntie. She even waves at Kaz when he walks over to the tables. At least now that he understands Japanese, he can recognize the wind and number tiles. ]
Sure, I'm willing to learn.

So he's here at a random time in a beat-up old t-shirt and athletic pants, practicing punching on one of the heavy bags. He's definitely not good enough to give Majima a run for his money (yet) but if he spots his friend, you can be damned sure he's going to flip his shit.]

of course, he knows that means fai won't be the best sparring partner, but he's not going to avoid him. fai's gonna see his face eventually, anyway. might as well get it over with now.

its times like these he remembers how much older tatsuo is than him, how he's always been a cool older kind majima's lowkey looked up to. so, yeah, he'll just chill and watch him do his thing for a bit. ]

wildcard, bitches;
It's a difficult life she leads.
So now she's at the grocery store, frowning absently up at a shelf. Fawkes had given her a list of what he deemed basic staples, and she supposes now is as good a time as ever to collect them.
A man comes down the aisle on her left, and absently Rosalind glaces over for half a second. He's tall, a little taller than her, but an eyepatch, she doesn't know anyone with an eyepatch, does she . . .]

Hey, Majima!
[Kaz is walking into the club looking excruciatingly professional. Tie done up, tailored suit, slacks cut to properly fit muscular legs, and a briefcase full of receipts. A far cry from his joke the last time he was in.]
[But when he sees Majima? He actually stumbles. He has to grab the railing and manages to smack the case against the corner of a step. Contents go tumbling down. And he stares up with wide eyes.]
[...Huh.]
Majima???
[In the tone of What the hell happened?]

last fantasyyyy
No interest, no time. But if this fantasy world might provide some insight into the fantasy world he keeps seeing in his memories, then whatever time he spends with this must surely be worthwhile.
That's what he tells himself, anyway, and keeps on telling himself as he skims through the character creator, winds up with a burly muscle-bound sword-swinging humanoid with the randomly-generated name Lost Sheep, and clicks impatiently through lines and lines of text he can't really bring himself to care about. By the time the game actually hands over control to him he's already finding his belief waning, and it wanes even more when his character is directed to slay numbers upon numbers of rats and bats and sheep and more rats.
What kind of fantasy game is this, anyway, he wonders. Shouldn't he be taking on bigger game, like the large mammoth he sees wandering the field some short distance away? He clicks and takes a swing at it — and the very instant he realizes that the thing outpaces him by over ten levels is the same instant it swings back and kills him in one hit. Wasted. ]
Lost Sheep what am i supposed to do now
