look out new world here we come (OTA)
WHO: Adrien, Marinette & YOU!
WHERE: the v. rough and tough streets of Recolle
WHEN: 5/9 oooor 5/11
WHAT: dangerous teens with a skateboard and slightly less dangerous teens busking
WARNINGS: don't get hit by a skateboard, it hurts
Event A â Hit me, hit me with your skateboard;
WHERE: the v. rough and tough streets of Recolle
WHEN: 5/9 oooor 5/11
WHAT: dangerous teens with a skateboard and slightly less dangerous teens busking
WARNINGS: don't get hit by a skateboard, it hurts
Event A â Hit me, hit me with your skateboard;
[So, thereâs been a little change to the city, wink wink. People are adjusting to being tiny -- or not. Theyâre finding their way around the giant surroundings, animals, bugs, etc -- or not. You may be minding your own business, just trying not to get trampled on. Or maybe youâre investigating, or maybe youâre just trying to have a short (wink, wink) reprieve from the insanity.]Event B â there is a sad violin playing and also probably it is raining
[Sadly, thatâs not happening. You hear screaming, followed by two teenagers who appear to be riding a giant skateboard down the sidewalk. A giant yoyo has been wrapped around the skateboard, while one of the teens (a dark-haired girl with pigtails) is having just a teensy weensy amount of trouble steering it. The blond-haired boy behind her is clutching her and yelling loudly. As they barrel in your direction, you hear a simultaneous cry of--]
Watch out!
[Before one of the following happens:]
[i. The skateboardâs coming at you, too quickly to dodge. Either you jump on it or the teens pull you on, as you narrowly avoid being run over. In which case, welcome to the ride. Itâs going to be wild]
[ii. You have to run ahead of it as it comes for you, just barely keeping yourself from being flattened while the teens shriek and try to swerve out of the way so they donât hit you. All the while, theyâre screaming at you to run so you donât get hit]
[iii. The skateboard avoids you altogether and speeds up a makeshift ramp made from abandoned pizza boxes, causing them to go flying and actually flip -- hey, a trick -- while they scream and grab onto the yoyo string to keep from falling. How many points did they get? Feel free to clap, or boo, or call a small ambulance. An antbulance, if you will.]
[If you managed to miss the Skateboard Fiasco of earlier, rest assured that for our poor teens, the horror is not over yet. At least it seems that way with both teens sadly hanging around the curb, their skateboard a few feet back and obviously missing a wheel. They look contrite and are taking turns to approach any passer-by with a plea:]Post-Event â busking is sexy and cool if French teens are doing it
Iâm so sorry to bother you, but would you happen to have any spare change for the bus fare? We accidentally crashed and broke our, um, âvehicleâ, and we live on the other side of town⌠Weâve got no way back.
[they look so sad, these poor down on their luck teens with their conveniently broken skateboard. In fact, if you pay enough attention to the skateboard, you might notice something a little off⌠but come on. Itâs just bus fare. Thereâs NO WAY anything deeper is involved! Wonât you help these poor & sad (emphasis on poor and sad) teenagers, who are PROBABLY orphans, lbr????]
[Everythingâs back to normal-- supposedly. Everyone is normal sized, at least, which is something. It doesnât look like the locals noticed anything off at all -- which was unnerving -- but life is already proceeding as if it never happened.]Wildcard;
[For Marinette and Adrien -- or whatever names theyâre using today -- theyâre right back on schedule. Starting with money. They need money to live, and for other things.]
[If youâre walking down the street (and enjoying not having to ride animals or struggle to get on the bus to do so), you may notice them busking. Adrienâs playing a song on his accordion, while Marinetteâs set up a small sketching area for street caricatures. As you walk by, they try to catch your eye -- thereâs a cup for money for the boy, and thereâs a small sign right above the sample caricatures (and theyâre actually quite good) reading 10$]
Hello! [She says, cheerfully, while Adrien winks at you] Do you want a picture?
[And he pitches in, pausing in his playing momentarily:] Or you can simply stay and enjoy some music? [and pay him motherfucker. he winks again because he is only thinking that but seriously, pay him. also because he has a winking problem]
[Want something else? Or your own prompt? Hit us, hit us with yourcarskateboard]

Post Event!
...well, he's still got a while yet before his first appointment. Surely he can spare a few minutes to enjoy the music?
He wanders over, smiling at the music, less so at the children who should not be playing for money on the streets. He's probably going to have to ask about that. But first things first! He declines the offer of a picture with a smile and a raised hand, but fishes for his wallet with the other hand and offers a ten-spot anyway.
And then produces a harmonica from his messenger bag.]
Do you mind if I join you?
[His accent, for the record, is French, if somewhat faded from his years in Recolle.]
no subject
Oh-- of course, monsieur!
[Hopefully he won't try to get a cut, because they're probably starving orphans or something. Right. She shifts a little to make room for him, in between the two of them]
I didn't expect to meet a harmonica user around here. Maybe you and Felix can have a duet.
no subject
No, it's alright! You don't have to move around on my account. I just thought I'd play along for a bit!
[He smiles at the accordion player and then raises the harmonica. The two instruments actually sound surprisingly good together, and Fai's able to follow the tune of the song easily enough. (He's very good, though he's not trying to show off. Just blend in with the song.)]

[Adrien doesn't pause in his playing when Fai offers to join in, though that combined with the accent (and the ten dollars, because Adrien knows what he's about) is enough to make him break out into a huge, genuine grin.]
Oooh, I've never dueted with an harmonica before! Sounds like fun.
[his own accent is definitely more pronounced than Fai's, and if he was honest he would say he's never technically done a duet with anyone before. which is at least 90% of the reason he is so excited at the prospect.]

i-ish
What the-!
[He's like a deer in the headlights for only a moment. Then, his power kicks in; with a 'bamf' and a puff of smoke he disappears... and reappears right near the two teens atop the skateboard.
He doesn't feel much calmer being up here.]
What is going on?!
no subject
[Marinette screams loudly as Kurt disappears and reappears right next to her, at which point she stops screaming to stare wide-eyed]
How did you---
[at which point she notices a gigantic garbage can up ahead and has to sharply tug at her yo-yo reign to steer around it]
[Buckle in, Kurt, it's going to be a bumpy ride]
N-Nevermind! Tell me later!

Woah, neat trick. Can you teach me how to do that? [a beat] If we survive B's driving?

[Because he's definitely leaving if that keeps up. Not that it's the music that's really holding his attention. The caricatures are pretty good although $10 is a bit more than he'd like to pay for revenge.
Eh, fuck it.]
Hey. Can you draw someone if I describe them to you?
no subject
[She's tried. It never ends.]
[Anyway, since he's here for her skills and not Adrien's wanton winking,
she perks up and offers a smile]
Er--- of course! Just give a detailed description.

She looked from one to the other and bobbed her head. Had she met the girl before? In all the insanity of the last week, she wasn't entirely sure. There'd been too much going on really to remember everyone she might have met recently.]
Please, do not let me interrupt the music.
[Don't worry, she looked like she was palming a bit of cash, Adrien, though she wasn't the sort to pay until he'd played.]

[Marinette recognizes this girl as someone she's successfully weaseled money out of before, so she's going to pour on the "charm".]
Well! You're free to stop and enjoy it. He's playing for the public, after all.
[just don't let him wink at you]
Besides, if he focuses on playing, that means his mouth will be occupied. [Marinette don't be a shit]

[Marinette gapes a little (pretty openly and rudely), then after a few seconds, realizes she's doing so and shakes herself out of it. She's very subtle]

La Valse d'Amelie! [that was probably a bit of a strong French accent all of a sudden] It's from the score of one of my favorite movies. I can cover like, all of them.

Unfortunately, the first question on her mind is 'how does she avoid getting flattened?'. Fortunately, she's quite athletic, and has excellent reflexes. Unfortunately, her reflexes have her jump, get one hand on the edge of the skateboard, and do a rather impressive flip to land up on top of it with the other riders.
This is not how she wanted to spend her day.]
What is going on here?
no subject
[Marinette's eyes widen when she works her magic - but she lands and seems to be fine, so.]
[Don't mind if she keeps shrieking wildly, this ride is out of control and so is she, apparently]
--It's really hard to steer!
[She's using a yoyo as reigns of sort, so yeah, it is really hard to steer.]

At the least, it gives him a prime seat to watch the finale (nice, 8 points. -2 for that landing). Give him a moment and he's up and over, peering down on the collapsed pile ] Are- are you two alright?
