WHO: Rachel Hishimura and YOU
WHERE: Tribunal Terrace (General Hospital), Apprassage, Tisse (Expressive)
WHEN: Anytime in the final two weeks of April
WHAT: Various; one on one prompts also included
WARNINGS: None, will edit if they come up
[i]
[Being the daughter of a doctor, Rachel had always felt like she was being drawn along the same career path as her mother. Graduation and finals were looming, and one would think that the best idea would be to scale things back and focus on their results... but honestly, Rachel was a born overachiever and honestly felt weird when she wasn't keeping herself busy.
Which was why she was still volunteering at the General Hospital some days, usually after school. It wasn't for too long, and she was still able to get some studying in. Thankfully, certain people had helped her realize it wasn't a good idea to overwork herself, so even if she was still going a bit hard, she knew she needed to step back.
On weekends, she could be found volunteering at the information desk, and on days after school, she was helping in the emergency department, either helping restock carts or assisting new arrivals in the waiting area.]

[This was embarrassing.
During the water war last week, Rachel had worn a pair of her mom's sunglasses, and amidst all the chaos, they'd fallen off of her head. Her mother hadn't missed them yet, but Rachel did, and that meant she had to find them... preferable before she discovered her absence.
That was why she was trying to retrace her steps and find them. She ended up crawling around on the sidewalk, looking in trash cans and dumpsters, inspecting trees... She'd already been to the nearest station's lost and found and no one had turned them in.
Which meant they were either still lost, or someone had taken them. In either case, Rachel wasn't giving up, no matter how ridiculous she looked. And in the event she stopped someone...]
Excuse me! Have you by any chance found a pair of metal frame sunglasses? They would have been lying around sometime after the weekend...
[Rachel, there's a leaf in your hair...]
[iii]
[Since this whole business with Retrospec started, Rachel had been making an effort to be more social. Put herself out more. With high school ending soon, it felt like that was the way to go with things, right? Be more open to social situations, and whatnot.
She'd already participated in the water war and Founders Day more than she had before. What was spending an afternoon after school in a coffee shop compared to that?
Turns out, you'll feel more self conscious about things if you try to force it instead of just going into it with enthusiasm or more naturally. In any case, she's ordered a coffee, and just sitting at a table in the coffee shop, hiding behind a book.
It's kind of conspicuous.]

Being a haematologist usually meant consults, so he's not at the emergency room anymore. Luckily for him, he's able to recognize Rachel due to her profile picture. ]
Ah, hello. Are you helping out here today?
no subject
Ah... Mr. Trevelyan. Yeah, I am. I volunteer here after school and on weekends, sometimes.
no subject
He nods a little before replying. It's rare that he hasn't run into her more than a few passing times, but that's just how schedules are. ]
I hope you find it enriching. [ Well, some people come here just to get a foot in the medical school door, but Rachel doesn't seem to be that kind of person. ] How has the patient flow been so far?
no subject
[She looked down.] He seemed to have a lot of anxiety, unsurprisingly, and I tried to help him calm down while he was admitted. I'm not sure how well I did.
no subject
[ Especially with how underrepresented mental health is in public practice, unfortunately. ]
no subject
[She shot a concerned look towards the entrance to the emergency room proper.]
I don't think he's been discharged yet.
no subject
Ah, I can take a look. I hope it is not just overcrowding at the centre. [ A pause. ] Have you kept yourself hydrated?
no subject
You don't need to do that, sir. It's fine, really. And... and yes, of course I have. I have a bottle of water in my bag.
no subject
Lucian nods, casting a glance at the paper in his hand to appear busy. He lowers his voice a little for the next reply: ]
Have you seen anything odd today?
no subject
What do you mean odd? You mean like... 'someone came in here with a strange medical condition odd' or 'Retrospec odd'?"
no subject
Both.
no subject
no subject
As they say, no news is good news. [ Well, no strange news.
It's about time for him to go back to his office though, so he lingers a few more moments to see if she would say anything else. ]
no subject
[She looks about nervously, before speaking more quietly.] Seriously, we've gotten a big post from Retrospec at least three times in a row now.
no subject
So, we should be preparing for strangeness come May. I pray it be merely inconvenient.
no subject
no subject
I would take inconvenient any day over something that could hurt people.
no subject
You and me both, Mr. Trevelyan.
no subject
AH, look at the time. I should return to my clinic soon. Take care, Rachel.
