[open] now we sit in a circle and talk about our feelings
WHO: Anyone!
WHERE: Recolle University
WHEN: 4/15
WHAT: Group meeting
WARNINGS: none
[ If you've been out in about in the city over the past few days, you may have seen some suspicious pink envelopes or flyers hanging up. Coffee shops, stores, the university, and even as far as stuffed into a few people's mailboxes β you have been invited to something.
With the help from her family, Elizabeth had decided to call on her friends and use that valuable classroom she has access to. Her daughter was undeniably the one who encouraged her to speak up and take charge β with good reason since Jade now has the vision of an old lady. Jade was dutiful in putting flyers around town and the high school, Bigby made sure it got to the precinct and neighboring fire & rescue buildings. Roughly 1,000 copies later, she hopes that maybe there will be enough people to get some action going. She already hoped Jack had reached out to some of his contacts.
On April 15th, Elizabeth was kind enough to bring her crockpot for chile con queso dip and finger sandwiches. She's got a mortgage and can't really buy platters, y'all. Refreshments obviously provided and with good reason!
Written on the board are 3 general ideas: physical changes, dreams/memories, and items. Also in the bottom there's 2 small question marks: talking fruit? chocobo? ]
ooc: Hi everyone! I wanted to kind of throw up a physical in-person meet up to discuss the ongoing additions/regains in Recolle. You don't have to have CR with Elizabeth β this is kind of a general meet and greet log. Feel free to threadjack and discuss things. I'd like to hope we can push plot and see if there's any good ideas for actions to take in the city.
By all means, if your character is already assertive in this, please bring up the changes and take lead! I want everyone to have a non-Retrospec platform. :)

Chloe - OTA
So, she specifically made sure to be available for this. She was settled there in a chair, looking around the room, wrapped in a heavy green cloak. Besides the fact that she'd taken to wearing it often, why shouldn't she bring it to this event? She had the relative 'gifts' of Retrospec other than the photocopy. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to bring that one into this mix. But, at first, she just wanted to gauge the room, to see who was here that she knew, who she didn't.
Perhaps someone had learned something new? No, they couldn't be that lucky could they?]

[ what an amazing opener.
ainsley had seen the fliers while visiting the high school to see a former student of hers and of course she was going to the meeting. meeting with the others in person and speaking with them with what's going on, sharing ideas and suggestions? that was not something she was going to pass up.
but, for once in her life, she seems surprisingly subdued with her quiet voice and her constant fidgeting from where she's standing. she fiddles with the necklace she got from retropsec, a nervous tic she's developed and only realised she had around a few days ago. maybe it was born from all the stress from the activities and incidents that's been happening since the start of this very, very big mess. ]
So... Um... I was wondering if I could talk about a theory with you... If you don't mind, that is! It's just something has been nagging me for a while.
no subject
She looked back out at the others and nodded, keeping her face neutral.] I'm open to ideas, though I wonder if we're able to truly move past them yet.
no subject
she quickly goes and gets out her notebook from her bag, opening to a certain part of it. she tries to cover the sections that aren't related to this discussion but there's no way she can hide her plans about the potatoes. ]
I was thinking that maybe... We should try and find a way to compile all a database or list of people we've seen in our visions. Make sketches of them, put down any information we know for sure. Pass it around us who own the app to see if it can help jog memories and see if others have seen them before.
no subject
But, part of her saw the value in it and she nodded when Ainsley made the suggestion.] That is certainly an idea... and not one that I have tried.
I am not much of an artist, but I can describe them easily enough. We can go from there.

So he opts to draw them out. Or tries to. He tries really hard. Honestly. The last one is still a work in progress, Ryoji alternating between closing his eyes and trying to visualize, and looking down at the paper and the image disappearing before he can touch the tip of his pen to sheet.
Eventually he pushes the papers away from him and gives up, sliding his arms across the length of the desk he sits at and resting his head on one of his arms. To whoever's sitting nearby, or happens to walk past: ] Talk to me about... whatever's on your mind? [ Whatever they're here for. He needs something to distract himself from his lack of artistic ability, and he might have mumbled something about wishing he had a Timcanpy to project his thoughts directly for people to see, because honestly. ]
Re: ota
"You know, my best friend is a really good artist." Togusa nods towards the sheets of paper. "He's got a studio in the city. If it would help, I'm sure he could draw some stuff out for you."
"Officer Togusa," he offers over a hand.
no subject
"My name's Ryoji. Your friend... isn't a composite artist, for eyewitness sketches, I'm guessing?" He asks, but what he's trying to draw doesn't really have a face, as much as it has a mask. "Unless he works in both a studio and at the station."
no subject
"Koutarou Takao's his name," Togusa affirms. "And his studio is this place called Lemon Leaf on the edge of Apprassage? Not far from the University, you can't miss it."
"It might help out a lot of people, you know? Just to have a picture of it, make sure that they know they aren't making it all up."
no subject
That's for later. For now, he turns his eyes back up at Togusa. "If he comes to these meetings, you'll have to point him out to me, alright? Has he drawn anything from your visions so far?"

[She reached up and rubbed at her temples, looking a little tired as she did.] But, this is all something that we have re-hashed to some extent. I don't know if I have ever shared that much about my visions with you. Do you think it is helpful to do that?
no subject
I'd like to hear about them. However much you're comfortable with sharing.

I remember the first well. I was traveling out to a city on Corsica. The sky was beautiful and the waters of the Mediterranean were a wonderful blue. You could smell the salt in the air.

Reflecting inwardly with that small, fond smile, he remains quiet, waiting for Chloe to continue. ]

Hitori Togusa - OTA
Next to the refreshments, he drops a stack of Dr. Lucian Trevelyan's business cards. "In regards to the physical changes, I've been advising anyone who comes across them to take Dr. Trevelyan and Dr. Suttcliffe up on their offer to examine people. They're on the network, and they've shown discretion in what they've found so far. Seem to be pretty good at coming up with excuses for school and work, too."
Togusa finds a seat and he is practically clinging to his travel coffee mug. "Currently we're limited in what we can do about Retrospec, since there's not enough evidence that we can show to the Department to warrant a formal investigation." He tilts his mug at the board. "Pick a topic, let's see where we go from there." Because, frankly, Togusa has thoughts on all of it.

She didn't comment on her hair color, other than to nod in response to to the mention of Grell. She'd already done that, and it had been at least a little bit helpful, if not very enlightening other than to confirm her worst fears about the issue.
no subject
"But the biggest thing? Are the packages going around the city, or at least, the contents of them. Multiple people are now running around with unregistered firearms and destructive devices, thanks to Retrospec. Proving that they're here? Easy. Proving that they came from Retrospec? Harder, but doable."
no subject
She frowned for a moment before shaking her head. "They were smart enough to simply leave the knife in my home. What was mailed to me is completely legal. just a photocopy of a blank page and a cloak. Nothing strange about that... on the surface."

Penelope Raban - Open
Finally settling on a topic, she speaks up.]
So uh. has anyone been having dreams about things that aren't human? Like, species that aren't, but that live with people? I don't know if anyone here saw my Retrospec post, but like, the tomato guy is just the tip of the iceberg for me.
OTA
During the group meeting, he tends to check his journal from time to time when everyone speaks up. As for his conversation, he already had an idea.]
Regarding our visions, I was wondering if anyone else had any visions about some strange creatures we never seen before.
I don't know if you read my Retrospec post about the three creatures I drew before already, but I feel that I'm not the only one who receive a vision about some non-existent creatures like those fantasy novel creatures.

Two big circles are on her notebook, lines connecting two ideals: horses - chocobos being the main one. There's one big large red word: SCAR????. If you're able to approach her, it's visible what the word is.
For now, she looks up pointing to some words that she's written under 'physical changes' on the board. ]
What are your experiences with physical changes over the past few months? Have you consumed more water than usual?
[ :( Poor Liz is still thinking of the fucking tainted water supply... ]
no subject
[Chloe settled herself down in a chair across from Elizabeth with a blink and a slightly confused look in her face. After a moment, she shook it off and decided to answer the more pressing of the questions, since it was why they were here, though that water question was going to be nagging at her for a while, almost certainly.]
Well, I have experienced a few. My hair changed colors not that long ago to this purple that you see, and I feel... well, more limber, more agile than I should be. It is as if my body were stretched and waiting to move, in ways it should not be able.
I jog regularly, but what I have felt, it is almost ridiculous, really.
no subject
[ She tries to make herself seem more clear: less vague. ]
I'm thinking... if all of these changes are occurring β if there's some reason for these reactions and changes, it has to be a common denominator.
[ She points to her notebook, a small list but at the top reads: WATER. ]
I suspect there's something going on with the water supply but I can't get β can't get anyone from the Mayor's office to return my calls.
no subject
No, I haven't drunk anymore water than usual. But if it is the water, would it not be effecting everyone in a similar way? [She considered the Mayor's office for a moment and frowned.] I am not entirely surprised, though, that you did not get a call back. They seem not to want to admit anything is ever wrong. He wants the city to always seem perfect deep down.
It isn't, but they want to believe it very firmly.

[ Hi Jack. He's wearing that yellow sweater with HYPERION across the chest - the wrist guns are conspicuously absent - and for the most part does a lot of listening. Most everyone's heard about his weirdness, after how much he's put it all on blast. He does cut in at one point, though. ]
Anybody else remembering a lot of stuff? Like - kinda like if you put it all together, it makes sense? Like it's all connected. [ A beat. ] I dunno. Like it's not just random, but stuff about a single person. My flash-things are all about some guy whose life was totally bitchin'.
