(open) rough seas will be calm
WHO: Jaeger (eventually) and you!
WHERE: Dreamscapes.
WHEN: 8/25.
WHAT: Dreamdives!
WARNINGS: Suicidal implications, threads are warned accordingly.
[You find yourself on a grassy plain. It's nighttime, and while this whole thing is probably incredibly surreal, the scenery is at least peaceful. You can see a dark building ahead of you.
If you look behind you, you'll notice that there's a large, thick forest. Listening for a moment will tell you that there's plenty of wildlife there, and it doesn't sound happy to see you. It's probably not a good idea to head that direction. But hey, if you really want to, there's nothing stopping you.
If you choose to approach the building, you'll hear the distant sound of waves crashing, but otherwise all is silent. It would almost be serene, if not for the ominous look of the building. It appears to be a very large manor. There are plenty of lights on inside despite the late hour, which gives you a little more light to see the building itself. For some reason there are massive chains decorating the left side of the building that don't actually seem to be there for any specific purpose, and above that are flags for... some reason. The whole thing is kind of an experience, and the gloomy atmosphere and isolated nature of the house probably aren't doing much to make you feel at ease.
Since the manor is most likely where you're headed, you might want to get a bit closer to the front door to check it out. Be careful, though - you won't be able to get too close without two guards spotting you. They're dressed in yellow uniforms complete with masks that hide the upper halves of their faces. They don't exactly look friendly; one of them has a crossbow in hand and the other has some kind of large daggers that look like they're attached to the back of his hands.
You'll find that there's a solid wall around the perimeter of the manor; you can hide here for a moment if you'd like. Climbing over the wall seems to be out of the question given the height of it and the spikes on top.
How do you want to proceed?]

Most of the pictures show Jaeger with at least one of his siblings, though there are a lot of them. Six, in fact! The earliest pictures show him with four other siblings, though later on the other two start showing up. There are also plenty of pictures of Jaeger with an older woman who is probably his mom, given the striking resemblance and the fact that she's almost always smirking. Apparently that just runs in the family...?? His dad is only in a few pictures, but he seems much more serious and stoic.
Keep flipping through?]
no subject
Yes, of course.]
no subject
There are also quite a few pictures of Jaeger with a woman. She was probably pretty beautiful, but her face has been blacked out in every single picture she appears in, even if it's a group shot.
That's all there is to this one. Move on to the next one?]
no subject
He'll move on to the next one eventually, though, yes. What's here?]
no subject
There are also plenty of pictures of people in here! And selfies. Thankfully you won't have to look through all of Jaeger's selfies (because there are a lot of them), most of the pictures are of people he likes. His employees show up a good amount, and there's Elda... Cumore's in here too, towards the end. And unsurprisingly, you're all over the place in here. Some of the pictures you'll definitely recognize, and some of them are unfamiliar. There are even some of your selfies with Jaeger in here!
There are also some pictures of events, things that happened in the city or important moments in Jaeger's life while he's been here. Some of them definitely didn't have any person taking pictures of them, so that's a little weird, but they're all generally positive moments.]

It's different, and it feels a little intrusive to be looking at them, but overall it doesn't bother him; this is just...very nice, all things considered, and again, it's one of those things that he takes a bit longer than he likely should to look at.
Is there anything else here, if he keeps paging through it, or should he move on to the other contents of the chest?]
no subject
Up next are two more items - a folder and a calendar. Which do you want to look at first?]

Slightly more relevant than the adorable cats are the days themselves - it looks like Jaeger's very detail-oriented and organized, and he does this through highlighting various days in different colors and jotting notes down. Many of them are business-related, but a lot appear to be birthdays! Like. A lot.
Three days stand out from all the others in that they're highlighted in various colors: January 20th, March 18th, and October 28th.]

Move on to the folder?]

no subject
The second is slightly more relevant to you... sort of? There are a bunch of receipts; the majority of them are business-related, but you'll find that there are an alarming amount of receipts from the waffle house in here too...
There's one more item in the trunk, if you're ready to move on!]
no subject
But yes, sure, this all looks business-related and as such he'll leave it alone; what else is in here?]
no subject
no subject
He'll actually take that with him for now; he's not comfortable leaving it here, and he knows Jaeger wouldn't leave it unattended for no reason. So it's coming with him for the time being.]

Is there anything else in this immediate area? He'll put everything back in the chest and close it up, except for the heart stone itself, which he pockets; he'll check the office in the back first, but if there's nothing there of note he'll go back out into the hall.]
no subject
It isn't the office at all, actually. It's still a very familiar place, it's the study in your house! It's exactly as you remember it, and walking in will give you a sense of comfort and security.]
no subject
Admittedly, the comfort and security is nice, and he's not going to complain about that, but this is a bit unexpected and it kind of takes him a moment to really parse out what's happening here. Why this is here, of all places...
Is there anything immediately off about it? Anything like the chest from the shop.]
no subject
...Though it looks like something was left out on your desk.]

Is it on, and if it is, is it unlockable/can he access it at all?]
