[You find yourself on a grassy plain. It's nighttime, and while this whole thing is probably incredibly surreal, the scenery is at least peaceful. You can see a dark building ahead of you.

If you look behind you, you'll notice that there's a large, thick forest. Listening for a moment will tell you that there's plenty of wildlife there, and it doesn't sound happy to see you. It's probably not a good idea to head that direction. But hey, if you really want to, there's nothing stopping you.

If you choose to approach the building, you'll hear the distant sound of waves crashing, but otherwise all is silent. It would almost be serene, if not for the ominous look of the building. It appears to be a very large manor. There are plenty of lights on inside despite the late hour, which gives you a little more light to see the building itself. For some reason there are massive chains decorating the left side of the building that don't actually seem to be there for any specific purpose, and above that are flags for... some reason. The whole thing is kind of an experience, and the gloomy atmosphere and isolated nature of the house probably aren't doing much to make you feel at ease.

Since the manor is most likely where you're headed, you might want to get a bit closer to the front door to check it out. Be careful, though - you won't be able to get too close without two guards spotting you. They're dressed in yellow uniforms complete with masks that hide the upper halves of their faces. They don't exactly look friendly; one of them has a crossbow in hand and the other has some kind of large daggers that look like they're attached to the back of his hands.

You'll find that there's a solid wall around the perimeter of the manor; you can hide here for a moment if you'd like. Climbing over the wall seems to be out of the question given the height of it and the spikes on top.

[Both of them freeze at that. Gauche is the first to recover.]

He can take care of himself. Nothing's going to happen to him.

[Droite, on the other hand...]

...We always do what we're told. That's just... That's just how things work. So... So even if he's walking into something dangerous, if we're told not to interfere...

[Her sister glances over at her; it looks like Droite's trying very hard to remember something.]

Of course he can take care of himself. He's a strong person like that. But that doesn't mean he's invincible - you can be worried about him, you know. That doesn't mean you doubt him.

[He's. Trying.]

And it seems you do worry about him. Don't you?

Of course we do!

[That's Droite, and her sister gives her an exasperated look. Before she can interrupt, Droite continues:] We're always nearby to help look out for him, even though he probably doesn't need it. But... sometimes he just prefers to do things on his own. He never really tells us why.

[Gauche sighs before speaking up.] We know he can handle himself against the Don. It'll be fine.

...You know it's important to him to look out for you as well. Don't you? He isn't terribly demonstrative about it, surely, but it does matter a good amount to him.

[Both girls glance away at that. Gauche's hands are tight at her sides while Droite scuffs the toe of her shoe against the floor.]

Yeah, we know. But we're strong too! We can take care of ourselves, he doesn't have to worry about us.

[That's Droite; Gauche remains silent.]

If it's any consolation, it's not just you. He likes to try to insist that he can handle anything, and that he needs to be able to take on all manner of things by himself because he wants to try to help me. I don't fault him for it, but sometimes he needs to be argued with, because he doesn't always know when to stop and accept help.

He knows you're strong, but he's going to worry anyway. He does it to me all the time, it's frustrating.

[For a moment, both girls' expressions are blank, like they're trying really hard to process something and not quite managing it. Then Droite's expression quickly turns into something pleased.]

Oh, you're Albert, aren't you?

[Gauche tips her head a bit.] So you're the person he's really fond of...

[Both of them nod after a moment, and Gauche continues speaking.] He didn't worry about too much when we knew him. He's always been a very private person, so if he ever is worried about something... he doesn't show it.

But he's better about that sort of thing around you, isn't he?

[...oh my god. Okay, well, this is moderately embarrassing, but...]

...He is, yes. He still has difficulty opening up to people and expressing things like that, but I like to think he can tell me anything.

[i don't know what you expected from jaeger's mind]

He's pretty different now, isn't he?

[Droite hums a bit before looking at her sister. They nod in unison.]

We're not allowed to interfere, but you're under no such restrictions.

[That's Gauche, and once she's done speaking she and her sister step aside and move toward the door.

...They both pause once they're there, though.]

You'll take care of him, won't you?

Always.

[...God, can we just bring them out of here and adopt them, for fuck's sake.

That said, though, that leaves the current...everything with the Don. How is that going...]

[Please...

Anyway, they nod at that and smile (well, sort of, Gauche looks like she's trying but she's very bad at it) before leaving.

Meanwhile things are uh... well, they're certainly happening? The Don is massive - he must be at least seven feet tall - and he has a giant sword to match, but he's unfortunately a bit too slow to actually land a hit on Jaeger. The floorboards are now sporting cracks where that sword has missed, and the wall's got a few of them too. Some of the weapons mounted on the wall have come loose or fallen entirely, and that bookshelf has definitely seen better days. Jaeger does not seem to give a single shit about any of this though, and he's mostly just dodging the Don's attacks while looking entirely too pleased with himself.

They're a bit too focused on their fight to notice that Gauche and Droite have left. What do you want to do?]

[...This is fine.

You know what, Wesker's still got a fuckoff broadsword that he really doesn't explicitly need, if Jaeger is faster than the Don then Wesker definitely is, and throwing your sword always works or something. So he will just be zinging that into the general space between them to try to get their attention, because there's a correct way to do this and I'm still pretty sure Wesker isn't doing it.]

[Well, that definitely succeeds in getting their attention. Both of them stare for a moment before turning their attention to you. Neither have lowered their weapons, but they're not jumping to attack either each other or you.

The Don looks like he has no idea why any of this just happened, but Jaeger's smirking a bit.]

Who the hell're you? What do you want?

[That's obviously the Don.]

My name is Albert Wesker; I'm here on Jaeger's behalf. I've no doubt he did something to deserve whatever it is you plan on doing to him, but things are what they are.

[Jaeger doesn't even try to argue that; in fact, his expression doesn't even change.

The Don glances from Jaeger to you and back again, trying to size up the bigger threat here.]

You don't look like one of his usual minions. What are you doin' workin' with a guy like this?

It's more of a personal relationship than professional.

[...Yep.]

...With Yeager?

[Apparently that is just entirely unbelievable. The Don shakes his head after a moment.]

This guy doesn't do personal relationships. He uses people to get what he wants, and then gets rid of 'em. If you know what's good for you, you'll keep your distance. I've got nothin' against you, but if you get in the way, I won't hold back. I've got a score to settle.

I never said I didn't operate the same way. People are only good for what they can provide; the second they render themselves redundant is the second they're of no further use to me. Yeager simply hasn't reached that point - however, we do have an arrangement, and I intend to honor that.

[...This is...weird, but not unfamiliar; it's how Umbrella operated. Here's hoping it makes sense to this guy.]

I would prefer not to fight you, but I will if you deem it necessary.

[It looks like he understands, but he doesn't like the sound of it.]

There's no sense beatin' around the bush; I'm here to kill Yeager, an' I'm not leavin' until he's dead.

[He glances in the direction of that window for a moment before continuing.]

If you're gonna stand in my way, I'll kill you too.

That is unfortunate, but I can appreciate the bluntness. As it stands, it seems I'm going to have to make things difficult for you. It's nothing against you; you understand, surely.

[Let's fucking go, if we're going to go.]

[He doesn't say anything, but that sword swinging at your head is likely answer enough.

You'll hear Jaeger transforming his weapon while you're fighting the Don, but Jaeger seems perfectly content to just... let you two go at it without helping. Thanks, Jaeger.]

[You know, it's at times like this that his guns would be useful, but he doesn't usually carry those; ah, well.

The fact of the matter is that Wesker is extremely fast, to the point where his movements aren't easily tracked by normal human vision; he can avoid getting his head taken off well enough, though he imagines that that isn't going to deter this guy all that much, fancy tricks be damned.]

[He'll be a bit taken aback by the speed, admittedly - people don't usually do that - but he recovers quickly enough and brings the sword around to try to slam it into your side. It isn't that he's been careless in trying to hit Jaeger; his control over the weapon is very good, and it's clear he's holding nothing back.]

[Last time he did this, it was with a fireplace poker in the study of his manor; he has no idea how well he'll be able to take a hit from a sword being sent at him from someone who's presumably a lot stronger than Jaeger is overall. But it's a decent shot, and if it fucks him up it fucks him up, and he doesn't really think before he moves.

The important thing is getting his vital organs out of the damn way; he moves just enough to do that before blocking the swing of the blade itself as firmly as possible. He's hoping he has enough stopping power to damage the sword at least; he's almost positive this is going to break at least the arm he's using to block but maybe he'll be lucky.]

[Yeah, your arm is probably getting broken by that swing, but you do manage to stop the blade. The Don pulls back when the blade bends against your arm, and he's staring at it wide-eyed in disbelief as he speaks.]

What the hell... What are—

[That's about as far as he gets before he's suddenly hit with a bright light. The sudden blast is loud enough to shake the weapons on the walls and the strength of it knocks the Don clear off his feet. He lands hard on his back and doesn't move once he's down.

Jaeger steps forward then, still holding the rifle at the ready. He approaches the Don and nudges him with the toe of his shoe before leaning over to check out the damage. Thankfully the shot was energy-based, so aside from a really nasty burn mark, there really isn't much to see.]

Well, that was easy.

[Too easy, probably, but Jaeger doesn't seem concerned by that at all. He turns to you then, still smiling.]

It was good of you to come all this way, Albert.

[You'll notice two very important things: the first is that while the smile is the same as it usually is, it doesn't reach his eyes. The second is that he's still got the rifle at the ready.

It seems you've found Yeager.]
