It took Derek about a week, but he was finally able to get his huge ass apartment looking decent and ready for a party. He had tried contacting people to invite them, and even put a post on the app asking people to RSVP, not that he got much of a response. Sorry, Kenta, Derek is throwing a party and he doesn't know who all is coming...

Derek set up his kitchen with drinks for all ages. There are both bottles of Butter Beer for the minors and Fire Whiskey for the over 21. There are also many home made finger sandwiches (come one he's English) and chips. There is plenty of seating to go around since he does have TWO FURNISHED LIVING ROOMS and two balconies that you can walk out on to see a great view of the city, specifically Tribunal Terrace. Don't mind the owl that periodically flies onto his perch on the balcony and eats a mouse or rat he's found. He's very friendly.

The cat on the other hand, will occasionally slink around but mainly stay out of the way. Please don't touch him or he will surely scratch you (unless your Kenta or Mariko).

Derek will be mingling with guests as they come in. Drink, have fun, listen and dance to the music, sing Karaoke (Derek has a Karaoke machine), and take your mind off the fact a bunch of people are missing and Retrospec is behind it!

The Earl's forces can only be injured and destroyed with Innocence. And only certain people are compatible with Innocence. When Lenalee was found to be a match, she was taken to be trained as an Exorcist.

So... what exactly can this Lenalee person can do? I know Noah has that arm...

She can do a few different things.

When you say "break the sound barrier," you mean faster than the speed of sound right?

Yeeeees... though I have not done it myself yet. I just know she can do it.

But can you do it? Like, if you needed to?

[Derek is trying to not let the desperation come out in his voice.]

I think so? I would have to find a place with enough space for me to run full speed. And making turns is impossible.

What is the fastest speed can you go comfortably at? Is it at least faster than a car? How long does it take you to go across the city?

[The desperation is starting to show in his voice.]

I have never measured the speed... but yes, I can go faster than a car. But across the city? I would have to see. Figure out what kind of path I could take with the least obstacles...

[Derek pauses, not sure how to ask this huge favor of her.]

I-I need to ask you a huge favor.

[Li-Na raises her eyebrows]

A favour? What kind of favour?

I... I need you to help save my life if something very specific happens. You see... Draco... when he's sixteen he's murdered by one of his classmates. The classmate uses a curse that cuts him open and the bleeding won't stop. Now, I've found a guy named Elliot who think he will be able to heal me if I get the wound from Retrospec, but it's getting Elliot to me before I die is the problem. That's where you come in you see? You could get Elliot to me so he can heal me.

[Li-Na drops her cup in horror, her hands flying up to her mouth]

[Derek wasn't expecting that reaction from Li-Na. Normally people give him a pitiful look and say "sorry." It was nice to have someone be horrified. Finally someone understands the dire situation he is in! Derek nods in response to Li-Na's reaction.]

Yeah, he does. He failed to do something this bastard wanted him to do and uh... he got cornered in the bathroom and they got into a duel. Draco was hit with a curse that... simplistically put, sliced him open. He pretty much bled to death.

That.... and you think Retrospec will cause that to happen to you? I know they can change our physical state, but... it sounds like you are worried they will... how do you say slice you open?

[Derek nods.]

Yeah. I'm scared that I'm going to get that wound. Back in January, my friend Tatsuo got a fresh gun shot wound back and it gave me a big scare. T-that was also when... I got the memory of Draco dying. Except, unlike Tatsuo, Draco's wound is magical, which mean I need a magical solution for it. Thus why I asked Elliot to heal it for me if it happens. But I still need someone to get Elliot to me. That's where you come in.

[Li-Na ponders this for a moment]

We will have to see how Elliot feels about high speeds. And how to bring him along with me. I have not tried that yet.

[maybe she could piggy back him.... this is going to take some thought]

[Derek lights up at Li-Na's comment.]

So... you'll do it? You'll help me?

[Li-Na nods somberly]

If I can figure out the logistics... yes. I do not want someone to die if there is something I can do to help.

[Derek smiles and practically throws himself at Li-Na, hugging her.]

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!

[Li-Na stiffens a little in surprise. But she can also understand why he's so concerned over this.]
