It took Derek about a week, but he was finally able to get his huge ass apartment looking decent and ready for a party. He had tried contacting people to invite them, and even put a post on the app asking people to RSVP, not that he got much of a response. Sorry, Kenta, Derek is throwing a party and he doesn't know who all is coming...

Derek set up his kitchen with drinks for all ages. There are both bottles of Butter Beer for the minors and Fire Whiskey for the over 21. There are also many home made finger sandwiches (come one he's English) and chips. There is plenty of seating to go around since he does have TWO FURNISHED LIVING ROOMS and two balconies that you can walk out on to see a great view of the city, specifically Tribunal Terrace. Don't mind the owl that periodically flies onto his perch on the balcony and eats a mouse or rat he's found. He's very friendly.

The cat on the other hand, will occasionally slink around but mainly stay out of the way. Please don't touch him or he will surely scratch you (unless your Kenta or Mariko).

Derek will be mingling with guests as they come in. Drink, have fun, listen and dance to the music, sing Karaoke (Derek has a Karaoke machine), and take your mind off the fact a bunch of people are missing and Retrospec is behind it!

Because when you are drunk, suggestions people give you sound better.

[Derek takes another sip of his drink.]

[Tatsuo gives Derek a suspicious look]

And what kind of suggestion are you thinking of giving me?

Oh you know, the typical stuff, dressing up your dog, convincing you aliens are real, that going on a blind date is a great idea...

One, I would probably agree to dress up Yujirou without being inebriated. Two, if Retrospec is to be believed, we are all aliens. And three, the fact you think I need to be drunk before suggesting a blind date just goes to show what a bad idea it is.

[Derek pours some more fire whiskey in to Tatsuo's glass.]

Oh, don't say that. Here drink some more. Would a blind date even be that bad? What if the person I set you up with is "the one"?

Hey, careful with that stuff.

[not exactly stopping him...]

I seriously question your capability of determining 'the one' for anybody.

[Derek rolls his eyes.]

What is it with both you and Alex thinking I have bad judgement when it comes to woman?

[Derek finishes filing Tatsuo's glass and fills his own.]

What do you look for in a woman anyway?

Maybe because you do. Need I remind you of your dating history?

[Tatsuo takes a small sip as he considers the question]

I like a woman who is intelligent and passionate about her job. And a bit feisty.

Let's just leave my dating history out of this OK?

[Derek listens to Tatsuo's description. Yup, that's Mariko.]

Mate, [Derek places a hand on Tatsuo's shoulder.] the woman I have in mind, is perfect for you. Give this a chance, please?

[Tatsuo gives Derek a loooooooooooooong look]

Fine. But because you said please.

[And being polite pays off!]

Excellent! I'll set everything up! And I already know your schedule so I'll make it on a day you don't have something.

[Derek pats Tatsuo on the shoulder.]

You're being a good sport about this mate!

[What Tatsuo realizes what's going on... he's going to laugh so very hard.]

Well according to you I need some help.

And considering my last attempts at dating were a wash once she got knocked off the app.

[that last sentence was mostly grumbled to himself]

See, this is what you need, a friend like me who will do the asking for you so you don't have to. Takes all that stress away. All you have to do is go on the dates. And I have fun doing it!

[Now he's getting suspicious again. Derek is laying this on way too thick.]

I agreed to one date. Not multiple.

Let's just see how the first date goes them hmmm?
