[open] [ that picture from the iron giant of the guy yelling ART ]
WHO: Yusuke Kitagawa + OPEN
WHERE: Around Recolle.
WHEN: From 5/3 to 5/12...!
WHAT: Oh just... normal things.
WARNINGS: Excessive use of PAINT.
[ Anyone who runs into Yusuke from the moment he gets his hands on his paintbrush and a paint pot is going to be aware of two distinct things: firstly, that he is an artist and definitely knows what he's doing with the utensils at his disposal. This ain't his first rodeo, that's for sure.
Secondly though, is that Yusuke is painting a lot like a man possessed - he's specifically focused on finding outlines and getting an idea of the layout, despite his well known attention to detail, and just... doesn't seem to be stopping. From the moment he finds his painting tools, he's back tracking to his home and wildly painting the street back into existence.
And this is how he is for the majority of the week. There's a method to his madness though, he's clearly looking for something, and seems to retracing old steps in an attempt to find it. The longer he's at it, the sloppier the paintwork becomes and, quite honestly, the worse for wear Yusuke seems. He only stops when it gets too dark to paint, and returns home, before leaving to begin again early in the morning. Watch him long enough, and you may even catch him swaying on the spot, or heavy lidded, like he's about to fall asleep on his feet.
... Help him? This is just sad. ]

[But whatever he was going to feebly argue, that gets forgotten when Akira brings up Kohryu. Eren and Elliot had just talked about Kohryu the other day, and so he gets extra excited]
Better than a horse!! That's a great idea! [does a little double fist pump to show his enthusiasm. Yeah dragon riding!!!]
no subject
I should be able to keep Kohryu out for several breaks now since following Yusuke didn't take up too much energy.
[ Also because he has SP adhesive 3 on which... He should probably give Yusuke one so he can practice with ease. With the snap of Akira's fingers, half of his face lights up with a familiar flame. The fire crackles and manifests where the dragon appears, gold and magnanimous. His whiskers coil in the air as he hovers over them, watching them with careful red eyes. ]
We should be able to paint Yusuke's street and cover more ground this way.
[ Akira hops on and when they join him. Good thing no one is out—except for this old man who is trying to get his mail, now staring at the dragon. Whoops. ]
no subject
How long were you two stalking m--[ Thankfully he is cut off by the magnificent arrival of Kohryu, coiling and floating in the air above them. For a moment, his hands itch to sketch the majestic dragon, but as much as he wants, sketching would not help him in his endeavours to repaint the graveyard into existence. ]
If it saves time, I can hardly say no.
[ Oh. Hello old man. Don't mind them, and their dragon friend. You saw nothing. ]
no subject
Oh. An old man noticed them. Elliot gulps nervously and climbs onto the dragon quickly, as if that'll stop the staring]
I-It was a lot easier when people didn't notice anything...
no subject
[ This is awkward? Once both of them are on, Kohryu gracefully rises only a little big over the neighborhood. They can see a couple of houses and start dumping all their paint now. The sky is also unfortunately white, which makes Akira curious.
Don't mind if he dabs a spot and part of the sky becomes nothing. Actually, there's a bit of a cloud outline, but it's hard to notice. ]
Can you pin me the location, Elliot? I'll navigate while you guys handle the paint.
[ Yes. ]
no subject
[ ... Hm.
After a moment, Yusuke mimics Akira's motion - only he lifts his hand and brush into the sky and drags a trail of pale, pale blue around and through the clouds. ]
no subject
Location pinned!
[Pocketing his own phone, he'll hold onto Kohryu with one hand while using another to channel another volley of watercolors onto the area below]
Ahaha, well I think we're just examples of how humans can adapt to anything.
no subject
[ The houses start to show their dark black outlines, but they need a second paint for it to turn any kind of color. Akira checks his own phone to see Elliot's pin and starts steering towards the direction of Yusuke's house.
Once they're there, they hover over the house. ]
This should be it.
no subject
[ To someone who has been called weird often, this is a sticking point. When they're hovering over his house, he holds still for a moment. ]
I suppose we shall find out.
[ He flicks some paint down at it thoughtfully, aiming for distinctive features on his house - like the gate, or the front door. ]
no subject
[Akira don't make it sound worse!! But he's not here for an argument about semantics. Instead he'll glance down at the area below them too. Not wanting to cause Yusuke's home water damage, this time he'll conjure some wind to blow the paint towards the house below. It splatters in sweeping streaks]
no subject
He cranes his neck a bit to see if this is definitely the Kitagawa estate—the familiar gates manifest, then the yard. Parts of the house come are outlined with Elliot's help before a fraction of it becomes a mix of blues. ]
Did you want us to land?
[ Or are they going to keep going? ]
no subject
As long as the house is sufficiently visible, it would be preferable to go...
[ He twists in his seat, so the house is behind him and he glances from side to side. ] That way, I believe. [ He points right. ]
... One more coat on the house though, before that. Just to be sure.

Nice.
[ And they'll go along their way towards East of here as Yusuke asks, still pouring paint rain until the graveyard is found. Tombstones peak alongside the foliage that covers the place. Instead of peaceful, it looks... Eerie when outlined. ]
no subject
Yes, this is more than enough.
[ When they're over the graveyard though, Yusuke just watches as paint rains down. He... knows where, and by extension, which one is his father's but... ]
I feel as though I should fully paint it. All of them, really. Out of respect.
no subject
Yeah, I agree. Let's paint them all.
[He doesn't want to risk leaving any of them forgotten out here. It's too sad]
Can I...ask who you're visiting?
no subject
[ He pauses, and then: ]
Admittedly, it is for the sake of my mother. She will want to visit him soon.
[ Hm. ] Perhaps we can do the perimeter and work our way in?
no subject
That sounds good. I'll take—[ Checks his phone for the compass... ] East?
[ But before Akira goes to the skirts of the graveyard, he adds this: ]
We should pick out some flowers later.
no subject
I'll take west! [As for flowers] If we can't find any flowers, you could use the zinnias in my room. They're blooming.
[they're meant for his parents memorial, but...he's sure mom and dad wouldn't mind]
no subject
[ Oh. OKAY you guys are being super sweet? Heck? ]
... That would be nice. I will have to find some with plenty of colour, or rather, a way to paint plenty of colour onto them. [ He can't help but smile. ] Thank you.
no subject
[ Akira will just take it! It's better than painting the city for the flower shop when they should be painting important things like... the gas and electric facility.
Since he doesn't have water powers, he has to paint normally. It makes him consider that he should keep a supersoaker for the month. ]
It's no problem, Yusuke. It's the least we can do? [ Hmmm. ] I think we should add an art piece on top of that.
[ Just a doodle from each of them filled appreciation. ]
no subject
[Finding a flower shop with the world like this would be a hassle. Who knows if there's one even open right now]</small. An art piece?
no subject
[ Hmm. ]
I wonder what we should draw... and if it's appropriate to do so.
no subject
[ But to Elliot's question... What kind of art piece? Akira taps his chin thoughtfully. ]
And we should let the artist pick. Right, Elliot?
no subject
[Embrace your inner graffiti artist Yusuke. Elliot will nod with Akira]
Right!
