[ Anyone who runs into Yusuke from the moment he gets his hands on his paintbrush and a paint pot is going to be aware of two distinct things: firstly, that he is an artist and definitely knows what he's doing with the utensils at his disposal. This ain't his first rodeo, that's for sure.

Secondly though, is that Yusuke is painting a lot like a man possessed - he's specifically focused on finding outlines and getting an idea of the layout, despite his well known attention to detail, and just... doesn't seem to be stopping. From the moment he finds his painting tools, he's back tracking to his home and wildly painting the street back into existence.

And this is how he is for the majority of the week. There's a method to his madness though, he's clearly looking for something, and seems to retracing old steps in an attempt to find it. The longer he's at it, the sloppier the paintwork becomes and, quite honestly, the worse for wear Yusuke seems. He only stops when it gets too dark to paint, and returns home, before leaving to begin again early in the morning. Watch him long enough, and you may even catch him swaying on the spot, or heavy lidded, like he's about to fall asleep on his feet.

... Help him? This is just sad. ]

[Elliot will give a nod to Yusuke, it's your call. He deploys another burst of air and paint, hoping to aim for the house. ]

[ Akira sneaks in some of his own paint, letting the red mix with the other blues. the Kitagawa residence ends up being a mix of blue and purple, maybe some red in certain areas. Overall, it looks good! Almost like it was airbrushed. ]

Nice.

[ And they'll go along their way towards East of here as Yusuke asks, still pouring paint rain until the graveyard is found. Tombstones peak alongside the foliage that covers the place. Instead of peaceful, it looks... Eerie when outlined. ]

[ It... is rather aesthetically pleasing. Like in real life, the three of them mesh rather well. How nice. ]

Yes, this is more than enough.

[ When they're over the graveyard though, Yusuke just watches as paint rains down. He... knows where, and by extension, which one is his father's but... ]

I feel as though I should fully paint it. All of them, really. Out of respect.

[he watches as the paint reveals a...graveyard. Oh. So this is what yusuke was so determined to reach]

Yeah, I agree. Let's paint them all.

[He doesn't want to risk leaving any of them forgotten out here. It's too sad]

Can I...ask who you're visiting?

[ He pauses, and then: ]

Admittedly, it is for the sake of my mother. She will want to visit him soon.

[ Hm. ] Perhaps we can do the perimeter and work our way in?

[ Quiet, he doesn't say anything about the reveal. He knew and giving Yusuke his condolences would seem too... Off. He has probably heard it enough times and another wouldn't do anything. Instead, he smiles at his friend before shifting gears. ]

That sounds good. I'll take—[ Checks his phone for the compass... ] East?

[ But before Akira goes to the skirts of the graveyard, he adds this: ]

We should pick out some flowers later.

Oh... [Elliot had never thought about it, but it was true Yusuke never mentioned his dad. Did he die when he was really young...? He supposes it would be hard to mourn someone you barely remember...] That explains the determination.

I'll take west! [As for flowers] If we can't find any flowers, you could use the zinnias in my room. They're blooming.

[they're meant for his parents memorial, but...he's sure mom and dad wouldn't mind]

[ Oh. OKAY you guys are being super sweet? Heck? ]

... That would be nice. I will have to find some with plenty of colour, or rather, a way to paint plenty of colour onto them. [ He can't help but smile. ] Thank you.

[ Akira will just take it! It's better than painting the city for the flower shop when they should be painting important things like... the gas and electric facility.

Since he doesn't have water powers, he has to paint normally. It makes him consider that he should keep a supersoaker for the month. ]

It's no problem, Yusuke. It's the least we can do? [ Hmmm. ] I think we should add an art piece on top of that.

[ Just a doodle from each of them filled appreciation. ]

Aw, nothing. It's for a good cause!

[Finding a flower shop with the world like this would be a hassle. Who knows if there's one even open right now]</small. An art piece?

Still, it is a lovely thing to hear. I'm sure whatever we offer up will look beautiful.

[ Hmm. ]

I wonder what we should draw... and if it's appropriate to do so.

It's appropriate if you think it's appropriate.

[ But to Elliot's question... What kind of art piece? Akira taps his chin thoughtfully. ]

And we should let the artist pick. Right, Elliot?

It should be fine. Back home, people would make graffiti murals as memorials all the time.

[Embrace your inner graffiti artist Yusuke. Elliot will nod with Akira]

... He liked camellia flowers. Perhaps we could create a grown and painted garden for him.

[ His mother would probably like that too. ]

That sounds like a good idea.

[ After some time, Akira finally reaches the middle. His side isn't painted obviously, but it's outlined and visible. ]

Camellia flowers are the white ones?

[Elliot meanwhile is using his magic to help him paint his half of it. He'll pull up the hood on his raincoat to keep from getting too wet.

But Akira fielded his question since he's not THAT familiar with flowers, so he'll be quiet while Yusuke answers]

They can be, but I do remember the ones my father was fond of being a deep red-pink colour.

[ Hmm........ ]

Hm. We'll figure that out.

[ They're only red and blue, but it's okay. He waves over to Elliot!! They've got a good section of the graveyard covered with all three of them. They may have missed some small details with how large it is, but the tombstones for the most part have been outlined. ]

Want to waterbomb from the air for some actual color?

[ Water magic is so convenient. ]

[That's right water magic is the best magic.]

Deep red-pink.... [How will they pull that one off? Maybe with Akira's brush somehow? Hm.

But oh he catches that request. He'll give a nod] Okay!

[Then conjuring up some more water mixed with paint, he'll shoot it into the air, so it'll come raining down on the cemetery. It's beautiful.]

I'm sure we could get creative with the colours. A light purple, or simply sticking with red would be fine.

[ Oh. It's like coloured rain, pouring onto the cemetery and revealing it in washes and blends of red, blue and purple. How charming. ]

It's lovely ... there's something about a graveyard that is filled with colour that makes it feel less sombre.

[ He hums thoughtfully—he’ll ask some people who he thinks are red. The cemetery is now a mix of purple and different shades of blue, making it very whimsical rather than foreboding or ominous. Akira thinks it’s a nice look and he hopes that the spirits appreciate it. ]

It looks great. Really enhances the mood. [ Patting both Elliot and Yusuke on the back, he holds onto them so they’re all linked. ] Those paint eraser dogs might come by here once in a while, so it’ll need periodic maintenance.

So we have to hold the fort till the 12th, right?

[Elliot will nod along with them, clasping his own hands together]

Yeah, it really does. [no wonder Day of the Dead is so vibrant] Our colors really combine harmoniously.

[He's not too surprised, the three of them tend to get along well]

And that's a good idea. I can stop here sometimes on my way home.

Yes, that has been the major hurdle thus far. [ Aside from the whole trying to paint a route halfway across the city thing. ] But now I know where it is, it will be easier to find and keep repainting, if need be.

[ But it looks lovely. A celebration, rather than a dirge. ]

The 12th is correct. [ ... ] And... thank you. This will make it so much simpler.
