WHO: The Dangan crew!
WHERE: The poor empty and desolated apartment that Naegi calls home
WHEN: ~April 3
WHAT: Enough talk about murders and guilt and whatnot. Let's actually murder each other with Mario Kart (and other fun things!)
WARNINGS: Someone's probably going to get strangled with a controller wire
[ naegi's place isn't the... most luxurious looking place. in the dining room, there a really nice oak dining table (it's the most valuable thing that daisuke and naegi own - they'll die for it) and some chairs (there's a random beanbag chair???) and in the living room, there are easels and... yeah, that's about it. the living room is the destinated section of the apartment whenever naegi have to work on some art projects that can't be done in his room and while it's normally messy this time of the year (holy shit final projects and portfolios and personal projects in which he wants to die), he tidied up for the occasion, piling up his canvases and sketchbooks in the corner where no one can trip on them. ]
[ in addition, he's tried to at least make the place look presentable or more welcoming than a nearly empty place! he has gotten snacks! he has moved his crummy but still somewhat decent tv to the living room! he has his insanely old M64 console out to use on the tv! he begged daisuke to please take the crane out somewhere else so it doesn't try to kill everyone while they're over! it's not that bad! ]
[ just don't expect a nice sofa or something to lay down on. naegi and daisuke aren't rich enough for that ]

You can pick up items while you're racing and use them to try and get ahead of others. You can get things like banana peels to make other people slip on them or throw turtle shells to knock them over.

First, you have to pick your character. Each one has different strengths and weaknesses, like the heavy characters take a long time to speed up but they're the fastest racers when they do, but you can also pick a character based on how they look.

[It's just a video game, so friendly sportsmanship is key, right? Ishida holds the controller and for the first couple of minutes, just tries to figure out how to accelerate/brake/throw items. He's definitely not good, but slowly, he's getting the hang of it...]
I-I can see the fun and competitiveness in this game, hahaha! [Once you get used to the controls, he can see the joy in throwing red shells at other racers... or ramming them full speed with a star on and seeing their cart fly off the course.]

[ in his nervousness, naegi will fall off the road a bunch of times, losing precious seconds as he quickly goes from first place to second to fifth to last. ishida just might actually win this time! at least... until that terrible sound of a blue shell being used is heard ]

[It's Hell. This road is leading them to hell-- except with a couple of lucky item boxes, he manages to lead in first place! For the first time since playing this game, he's in first and he can see the finish line! He's almost there--
Until he explodes in a blue aura.
And now he's no longer in first. In fact, his rank drops from first to 4th in just a few seconds and Ishida is too busy yelling with flames sparking from his eyes to complete the race.]

[ with the race finished and the game starts to replay back scenes from it, showing the racers go through the finish line and all the devastating shells and banana slips. naegi would normally be happy with watching this replay but he can't even look at the screen. he has his eyes downcasted and sweat drips down the side of his face ]
