WHAT: It's a birthday party! Amanda is now 18! With Derek throwing in his wizard candy to make things more interesting
WARNINGS: none? Wizard Candy stuff?

It's March 17th and it is the most IMPORTANT first event of the year, at least in Derek's mind. With Amanda turning 18, Derek has tried to create the PERFECTA BIRTHDAY PARTY! Amanda wanted it small and family. So he invited only "family." Foggy (the cousin), Matt (honorary brother), and Tatsuo (also an honorary brother). His apartment is decked out in red streamers, a "HAPPY 18th BIRTHDAY!" sign strung across the front of his kitchen. He had red party plates and cups, and red and white streamers everywhere else. He figured it was fine since the ones he had hung above Blaise's cat tree was entertaining for his cat.



A. CAKE AND CELEBRATION

The cake is in the center of the table with a box of 24 birthday candles next to it. It's huge and a bit gaudy, but Derek felt this was the PERFECT CAKE. If anyone is wondering, it's chocolate. There is also plenty of soda and water to drink.

B. PRESENTS

It's time to give the birthday girl her gifts!

C. WIZARD CANDY FUN?

So Derek figured a good way to pass the time was to introduce some of his close friends and family to the contents of a package he got from retrospec. It's wizard candy. If a person looks inside they will see that everything has been opened, meaning, Derek (and Chiyo) have tried everything first and didn't die. The contents are as follows:

*Box of chocolate frogs (8) (magical property- The frogs can move)
*Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans (2 boxes) (The flavors)
*Cauldron Cakes (3 cakes)
*Fizzing Whizzbees (1 opened package) (magical property- the consumer floats)
*Exploding bonbons (1 opened package) (magical property- they explode in your mouth)
*Sugar Quill (4 quills)
*Liquorice Wands (opened pack of 6, now 4)
*Pumpkin Pasty (3 pasties)
*Pepper Imps (one opened package) (magical property- the consumer smokes at the ears and nose)
*Peppermint Toad (one opened package) (magical property- the toad "hops realistically in the stomach")

If asked, Derek will tell you if the sweet has magical properties. Feel free to help yourself and experience a bit of magic!


BONUS: WHAT EVER ELSE DECIDES TO HAPPEN AT THE PARTY!

General mingling and what ever crazy decides to happen at the party. This also includes what ever happens once Amanda leaves to hang out with her friends.

I'm just repeating what she told me over the network when we discussed her birthday. She says that blowing out candles and getting sung to is a kids' thing. Her words, not mine.

Kids' thing? Has she not been sung to in a restaurant before? All that waiting staff gathering around to cheer and clap at the top of their lungs for a tiny child. That's hardcore intense and some kids don't leave the restaurant the same if they go through it. Clearly it's an adult thing for adults like myself who enjoy making strangers sing to me. And is there not fire in this ancient ritual?

She'll come back around sometime in college. They always do. Who can blame her for being clawing at adulthood with you know who trying to cling to her childhood? [WHISPER WHISPER SNICKER. Sorry Derek. Helicopter bro needs to chill a bit.]

Speaking of corny opera equations... Are we... Good? I understand if you're still upset. I'll keep giving you space outside of this temporary three hour truce on behalf of Amanda.

Still think you made a real stupid decision but I'm cooling down. I don't like what you did. I'll be pissed as hell if you pull that kinda thing again Murdock. But you also told me a lot of truth. I don't like it but I understand why you thought it was your best option. [He nudges him.] Next time do better. That will be the best apology.

All types. The city alone sent me all kinds of kids let me tell you. Recolle is tamer in ways and wilder in others. I thought I couldn't be surprised any more. Retrospec just had to prove me wrong. [SIGH]
