[ Things that kind of suck: having to go to class on one of the most important romantic holidays - but of course, once things are said and done, Mio immediately knows that she has to go ahead and get changed since she's. Wearing pretty casual clothes and that just won't do when it comes to an important thing like this!

That, and she actually has to pick up the presents - yes, plural - that she got for him for White Day. Even though White Day was usually a way for males to gift back girls for them giving back chocolate, he had given her so much for Valentine's Day (even if it was late, she still counts it!) and that's why she has to pay him back threefold. Spoiling each other was kind of a bad hobby at this point, but she doesn't mind it at all.

It's honestly just "their thing" at this point, if you could even call it that.

Which is why she goes ahead and texts Leon one thing-- ]

[ --and like promised, there is a photo attached. It's of a map and there's a cute little star mark over the location because Mio is such a kind person. It does take her a while to go back home, drop off her stuff, and then subsequently change into something a little more fitting (white for White Day!!) before heading back out without a care in the world about dealing with anything else. She's already told her family that she was going out on a date today and not to bug her.

Her mom was very, very enthusiastic about that.

But anyway, she's on her way with the bag in her hands before running over; she's probably not the first one to make it, so she'll smile when she's there and waves at him, smiling brightly. ]

I didn't keep you waiting too long, did I? Also, I got you a bunch of stuff for White Day, so I hope you like it.

[ Here, just take this white bag that's taped together suspiciously and is actually fucking huge and filled to the brim - what did she put in this thing??? - before she decides to take it back. She's not going to take it back. It's his now. No take backs. ]

[ Mio isn't... entirely convinced by his words but she listens to the words and she actually has to multitask because while she can understand him when they're just speaking, singing is something different so she actually goes on ahead to search for the song and its translated lyrics even while she's recording him.

And she's listening to his voice and it's actually really nice to the point where she almost interrupts him, but the words are just mouthed in Japanese - a 'what? seriously?' because now she's just really flustered at the lyrics because that's ridiculously cheesy but romantic at the same time.

She feels like she could be sucked into his voice... so when he's done, she can't help but just stare at him with her lips slightly parted in surprise. ]

Ah--

[ She can't think because she kind of spaced out by his voice. And then she claps her hands together, impressed. ]

That was good.

[ Fortunately, the song had ended because dear god, did he feel nervous singing the entire time. Even if he did this just recently, it's not something he was going to get used to right away.

Wanting to hide the fact that he was nervous, he glances at her with an egotistic smirk. It really didn't take much for him to grin at her, especially after he gets a good look at her facial expression.

She looked surprised and entranced. It was cute. Showing off in for his girlfriend was always a good feeling, especially since he got to amaze her in the process. ]

Heh, told you. [ He even sends a wink her way. The douche even runs a hand through his hair, feeling proud. ] Your surprised look is really cute. Did you get a good recording of that?

[ He's winking at her and her jaw drops as she finally frantically stops the recording, her face red. She should have seen this coming and yet!! And yet he's like this and she has to just save face by trying not to blush so much as she presses her hands against the side of her face. ]

Yeah... I did, okay? And you had to sing a really romantic song like that one, too. I'm really embarrassed now.

[ She heard and saw those lyrics, don't think she didn't! Her heart's racing like crazy and she can't help but feel rather happy that she has him all to herself... it's a little selfish, but. ]

Anyway, it's my turn, right? I'll have to wow you with my skills. Let's see, I probably should go with something recent, huh? [ Flipping through the song list, she can't help but laugh a bit. ] There's even a bunch of anime songs on here, too. Aah, what should I go with... it's so hard to choose!

[ You'll never see it COMINNNNNNNNNNG At first he was nervous about singing, seeing her reaction was totally worth it. She looked so cute with that blush on her cheeks and even more so when she puts her hands against her face. It almost made it even more obvious. If he gets to see such an adorable expression like this everytime, then he didn't mind singing more often. ]

Seeing your embarrassed face is really cute. I feel lucky. I wanted to sing a song that I thought was fitting for us.

[ It made him especially happy that she saw the lyrics! Since she is the reason why he picked that song to begin with. ]

Yeah, it's time for you to sing. [ Now since she recorded him, it's only fair he does the same. So he reaches for his phone and starts setting up to record her. ] You like anime? Pick whichever song you are comfortable singing, I'll like it no matter what. [ He pauses and snickers a little. ] Even if you happen to be a bad singer.

[ Since it's Mio, he doesn't actually think she would be a terrible singer, but he wanted to give her a hard time after what she said earlier. ]

[ He is being the worst right now and the fact that he's saying that her embarrassed face is cute is making her make the strangest squeak that makes her cover her lips.

Her face is so red right now that she can't help herself. But the fact that he's going to record her too makes her even more nervous and she has to make this a really good song...

And she takes a heavy breath in, then out, trying to calm herself down. ]

I don't watch a lot of it, but it makes good background noise for when I'm studying. And you better not laugh, alright?! Don't laugh at my song choice!!

[ She clears her throat a bit and looks away before she finally chooses her song -- it's a slow, calm song full of emotion; there's something about the way that she sings it that rings notes of what seems to be waves of sadness and longing.

But her singing voice is actually... good? Which probably isn't surprising, of course. ]

I can't make any promises. [ Said with the most smug expression ever. Leon Zhong is truly in the running for worst boyfriend. They are a terrible twosome. He does manage to relax as he's listening to her singing voice. As expected, it's beautiful. He has always been weak to the sound of her lovely voice, so hearing her sing made his heart race. Like Mio, he had to look up the lyrics on his phone since he's still getting used to learning Japanese and singing is a whole different game. When he reads the lyrics, the expression in his eyes softens. Not only were the lyrics pretty emotional, he could sense there's a bit of sadness in her voice. She put a lot of emotion in this song and the words made him wonder. It's something that he didn't want to think about but.... ... could this possibly be about Satoshi? For a split second, he looks concerned. He didn't want those negative thoughts running through his head so he tries to shake them out. It's easy to put it on the backburner as he's focusing on Mio's beautiful voice. It takes him a moment to respond because he's a little spaced out, he was so entranced by her singing he doesn't know what to say at first. She's like a siren who has a firm grasp on his heart. A soft smile curves on his lips along with a pink blush that's colored his cheeks. ] That was beautiful Mio.

[ He says that he can't make any promises and she can't help but pout for a moment before she got right to it. The fact that she's belting out the lyrics with powerful emotion is pretty telling.

...Or at least, it would be if she chose the song while thinking about anyone in particular, but. No, she didn't choose it for that reason at all.

So when she's done, she honestly has to catch herself a little bit, especially when he compliments her. Her cheeks are tinted slightly and she can't help but feel her heart race when she sees the smile on his lips. But it's only then when she finally speaks, her voice calm-- ]

Thank you. [ Wait, she's still speaking in Japanese. ] I mean-- thank you!!

[ Let her bury her face in her hands because holy shit that second 'thank you' in English was somehow heavily accented and it's the literal worst... is he still recording?! ]

Y- You better not still be recording, Leon! You better delete this part if you are!

[ This is the worst. ] Anyway, we still have some time, so let's sing another song. I was wondering if... you wanted to do a duet.

[ Seeing the red tint on her cheeks causes his own to turn even redder. He's getting ready to compliment her but then he suddenly stops when he hears that slip up of hers. Thank god he was still recording. On cue, he stops recording and happily waves his phone around. ] Too bad.~ I got it allll on camera. [ To further prove his point, he replays the part where she says Thank you and is staring at her with the evilest of smirks. ] Never. The way you said Thank you in that adorable accent is something I intend to keep... [ He pauses. ] and replay over and over again. [ Worst boyfriend!!!! With one of the most obnoxious laughs in existence, Leon pockets the phone with a smug grin. Hearing the way Mio said 'thank you' with that cute accent was going to be a priceless treasure that he would forever keep. At her suggestion, his face melts into a much more softer expression as he nods at her. ] I was thinking the same thing. I... wanted to sing a duet with you. Was there a particular song you would like to sing together?

[ The moment she hears that recorded line playing back from his phone is the same moment where Mio Sonozaki dies for the first time today. ]

You're the woooorst!! Why would you want to replay something like that?! If you wanted to replay something over and over again, shouldn't it be more romantic...!

[ Look, there's even tears in her eyes now. You made her cry, Leon. She's going to find a way to get his phone and delete that later, just you watch.

Nevertheless, she wipes her eyes, pouting a little bit before looking away with folded arms, cheeks puffed in what seems to be frustration. ]

It'd be easier if it was a song we both know, right? I don't really know too many duets to be honest. The songs that are currently up on the Japanse Billboard tend to be like-- songs by idol groups or boy bands. Anime songs tend to hit those charts if the singers are really popular. Like aimer and DAOKO, for example.

[ It's rare for him to fluster Mio like this, so whenever it happens he feels like the proudest man on the face of the earth. ]

Simple. I want to replay it because your accent is cute.

[ When he sees her tears, he starts to feel a little bad. But then he remembers #turkeygate and any sympathy he had just flew out the window. He's treasuring this moment forever. Good luck figuring out his password, Mio! It's locked.

The smirk is still plastered on his face as one of is hands reaches over to poke her cute puffed out cheeks. ]

That makes sense, Idol songs are usually the most popular. [ He taps his fingers against his knee, trying to think of something that they both might know. ] Well, I know a few duets from American movies. In Grease Oil, there's "You're the one I want" and in Frozen Chilly, there was that one song "Love is an Open door".

[ If there's a will, there's a way. She'll figure it out at some point. But she does frown at him poking her cheeks like that. Especially when he's making fun of her! How rude. ]

Also I was right about calling you an old man. Barely anyone knows about Oil. But... "Love is an Open Door" is a really popular song back at home, but I'm only familiar with the Japanese version of that song-- ah, Tobira Akete.

It was a live televised remake. As for how well it did, I'm not sure. I just know it recently got remade.

[ Seeing the name Doki Beat immediately catches his attention and he's... quiet. There's a glisten in his eyes as he sees a quick glimpse of the song title Goodnight, Everyone! Sleep tight, y'all! but he attempts to shake it off. Wanting to hide his ... nerdy fanboyism. ]

[ LET'S JUST...... not do this right now, because clearly she's just going to get even more flustered as the seconds pass. Maybe he won't push. ] I'm sure they have other songs. Hey, do you see anything good?

[ Yikes, her voice sounds a little frantic now... ]

[ He does like the songs, but he didn't want to actually sing them out loud. So thank goodness she doesn't pick them and for that, he's not going to push either. Especially since... he doesn't want his own secret to be leaked. ]

[ His finger points to a BoA song featuring Daichi Miura. Admittedly, he's not too familiar with the song and only recognizes the artist. ]

Oh, BoA is a pretty popular artist in Japan, you're right... we can go with this one. I'm actually familiar with it, too.

[ Although she's aware that there's something about the song lyrics that's a little sad... she wonders if he's aware of that. Nevertheless, she's at least willing to sing this than something embarrassing. ]

The song has a lot of English mixed with the Japanese, too, so that might help you a bit. And I won't laugh if you mess up.

[ She sounds as if she doesn't exactly believe him entirely but her hand is on the microphone as she puts it close enough to sing into it. ]

[ Which shows when the song starts and she starts singing, her voice full of emotions that almost don't belong to her. ]

[ Even though he wasn't exactly being believable. As evidenced by the blush coloring his cheeks. He's both nervous and mesmerized by the sound of her voice. Listening to her put so much into her singing made his heart flutter.

There would never be a day where he would get tired of her voice. He loved listening to her.

He lets out an exhale and when it's time for his part, he starts to sing into the microphone. Japanese may not be his first language, but he manages to hold himself pretty well attempting to sing it. There's a bit of mistakes here and there, but he quickly recovers and focuses on the song, putting power and emotion into his voice as he sings. ]
