[ Things that kind of suck: having to go to class on one of the most important romantic holidays - but of course, once things are said and done, Mio immediately knows that she has to go ahead and get changed since she's. Wearing pretty casual clothes and that just won't do when it comes to an important thing like this!

That, and she actually has to pick up the presents - yes, plural - that she got for him for White Day. Even though White Day was usually a way for males to gift back girls for them giving back chocolate, he had given her so much for Valentine's Day (even if it was late, she still counts it!) and that's why she has to pay him back threefold. Spoiling each other was kind of a bad hobby at this point, but she doesn't mind it at all.

It's honestly just "their thing" at this point, if you could even call it that.

Which is why she goes ahead and texts Leon one thing-- ]

[ --and like promised, there is a photo attached. It's of a map and there's a cute little star mark over the location because Mio is such a kind person. It does take her a while to go back home, drop off her stuff, and then subsequently change into something a little more fitting (white for White Day!!) before heading back out without a care in the world about dealing with anything else. She's already told her family that she was going out on a date today and not to bug her.

Her mom was very, very enthusiastic about that.

But anyway, she's on her way with the bag in her hands before running over; she's probably not the first one to make it, so she'll smile when she's there and waves at him, smiling brightly. ]

[ It may not look like it, but Leon himself is also a little disappointed that this romantic holiday had to fall on a school day. Normally, he would have viewed this as just another day since education was the most important thing to him. Keyword being "was", because now that's been replaced with Mio.

So when he comes home and sees her text, he's quite ecstatic. Even if he's rolling his eyes at the "don't get lost" part of the message.

After getting dressed and gathering his own presents for her, he makes his way to the designated spot. Upon arrival, he was surprised that he made it there first. However, he didn't have to wait long because soon enough, he hears her voice calling out to him and he turns around to greet her. ]

Not terribly long. I was afraid you got lost. [ This shithead. He would have reached out and pat her on the head, but one arm had a large white box and the other hand was holding onto a medium size white bag. ] Oh? That's a large bag you have. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've picked out.

[ For once in his entire life, Leon is dressed casual attire and is not wearing some sort of tie. This is also the only pair of blue jeans that he owns but since today is a special day, he wanted to try something different for Mio. Going with the theme of White Day, of course he had to wear something white. The outfit he's wearing is not the only thing that's different about him. His hair that was normally a very dark brown is now is a much lighter shade of brown.

[ That is the rudest thing that she's ever heard in her life, what a horrible boyfriend. He's probably doing this on purpose to rile her up and it's working because her cheeks are puffed out in what seems to be a mixture of frustration and her being flustered.

Her face is slightly red because of it.

[ Hearing that makes him want to laugh even harder at her, but he manages to calm himself down. Seeing the flustered expression on her face is too cute and it made him want to tease her even more.

He follows after her and watches her as she asks for a booth for the two of them. It amused him that in the span of two weeks, he's done more singing then he's done in his lifetime. ]

Yeah, I have. Just last week, a friend of mine had her birthday party at a karaoke place and I... sang there.

As he follows her, he can't help but frown a little at the idea of being recorded. At first, he wasn't bothered by the idea of being recorded because he liked the sound of his own voice but after #turkeygate, he can't help but feel a little salty towards that subject. ]

[ That's a lie but at the same time, he did like it when she called him "my beloved". Despite his protest, there's something about her smile that warms his own heart.

The plastic packaging on the first one made him curious, he couldn't quite figure out what it was until he pulls them out. His eyes grew wide as he stares at the bag.

Leon's face was red enough as it is and he's stammering like a fool. But still, he decides to keep his cool because surely the next present can't be that bad. Right?!

Oh boy is he wrong.

He nearly fell off the seat when he pulls out the box of white condoms. The boxers were already embarrassing enough as it is... but condoms too?!?! He stares at her, then at the box and stares right back at her again. ]

[ She says those words, feigning ignorance as she looks away from him, although she is literally on the verge of losing her shit and just laughing really hard but no.

In terms of White Day traditions, some of the most popular gifts are white underwear you know? Well, usually men gift women gifts so it ends up being lingerie... but I couldn't just give you one thing, especially with sanbai gaeshi [ 'triple the return' ] so I ended up getting those, too. If you don't like it, then I'll take all of it back. Including the other stuff you haven't even looked at yet.

[ And she huffs, arms folded as she turns her head away from him. ]

[ The rest of the presents are good, she swears. There's a white collared pressed formal shirt along with another box that has white chocolate in the shape of hearts in there.

Of course, the chocolate's handmade. ]

[ Yeah seriously, whoever is in charge of the cameras and has to witness this conversation is a true hero who doesn't deserve this life.

At her question, he's still blushing like crazy but he's a whole lot more calmer than he was earlier. ]

It's not a bad thing. Because... I wouldn't mind. [ The correct thing to say is "I want it just as badly." but for the poor sap that could be watching this, he bites his tongue down. ] That's right. This gift bag is huge...

[ He's quick to start digging into the rest of the bag. Once he pulls out of the rest of the items, there's a bright smile on his face. ]

Thank you, Mio. I'll be sure to wear the shirt sometime soon. You know my tastes. [ Especially since white collared pressed formal shirts are practically all he wears. ] White chocolate, huh? It's one of my favorites.

[ Of course it is White Day, so it's natural she would make white chocolate to commemorate this romantic holiday. The way she shaped them into hearts was really cute and he could tell she put a lot of hard work into them. He takes one of the pieces and pops it into his mouth, letting the delicacy melt on his tongue. ]

As always, your homemade chocolate is the best.

[ Seeing him blush is actually a sight that she can't help but smile at each and every time. She loves seeing his blush. It's a faint reminder of his feelings for her, and it's something that never fails to make her smile.

Maybe it's small things like this that make her fall in love with him even more. ]

[ But it's right then and there when her cheeks color at him saying that white chocolate is one of his favorites. Maybe she should keep that in mind for next time she comes up with a present. When he takes one of the pieces and takes it and says that her chocolate's the best, she can't help but smile warmly. ]

[ With a smile, he slides the box and bag her way. Should she decide to open the box first, there's a beautiful white cake sitting inside it. Of course he didn't make it, but he asked a bakery to specially make it. Upon opening the bag, there's a bunch of different gifts inside but the first thing that she might notice is a... white lingerie. ]

[ Should she be concerned that Leon might end up turning into an anime character with his closet just full of the same type of collared shirt and pants? Just multiple copies of the same outfit...?

Nevertheless, she'll open the box first which makes her eyes widen in awe and a bit of honest surprise. It's such a beautiful cake and she can't help but smile pleasantly at it. ]

[ Looks like she's got him good with his lie, though. But when he smiles and goes ahead to put the necklace around her neck and say those words in a low voice in her ear, she can't help that her flush darkens. ]

[ The answer is obviously yes, but she can't help it. The fingers in her hair and her jawline are enough to make her shudder slightly even though she doesn't mean to. It seems that she actually likes him touching her.

[ She'll be really mad if he does. Nevertheless, she'll go to the booth's phone to call the front desk and order food -- both his order and her own before sitting back down and taking out her phone to set things up. ] By the way, they said it would take twenty minutes.

[ Seeing her fingers wrap around the necklace warms his heart and the smile on his lips wouldn't fade. Not only was there a sense of pride seeing that she liked his present, it... made him really happy.

It's embarrassing, but he spent countless hours looking for the perfect necklace for his Mio. Along with one that fits the theme of White Day. Which is fine, this means he can give her more necklaces with different colors later on. ]

You are so adamant about getting a recording. Since it's my voice, I guess I can't really blame you.

Alright, that's not too bad. I've waited longer for food. [ Much longer. In fact, he's almost impressed with their service. ] While we wait, shall we start singing?

[ She can't help but flush when he says those words but it's when he flips his hair that Mio just... frowns. But she's taking that seat now, readying herself for the worst as she gets her phone ready to record. ]

Yep, I'm totally ready. Go ahead and choose the song. I'll still keep the recording even if you're a terrible singer, you know.

Hey, I'm not a terrible singer. Just you wait! You'll be in awe by my voice.

[ A small huff leaves his lips he's scrolling through the list of songs, he's impressed by the good number of songs they have. Even more so when he sees a couple of Chinese songs and one that's he's familiar with.

It shouldn't matter since the lyrics are on the screen, but he still feels better about singing a song in the language he was most comfortable speaking in.

He chooses that song and lets out a exale. Even with his confidence, he's still feeling nervous because singing isn't something he's used to. There's a very noticable hint of pink coloring his cheeks as he begins to sing his chosen song.

Surprisingly, his singing voice isn't too bad. In fact, it's actually quite nice... ]

[ Mio isn't... entirely convinced by his words but she listens to the words and she actually has to multitask because while she can understand him when they're just speaking, singing is something different so she actually goes on ahead to search for the song and its translated lyrics even while she's recording him.

And she's listening to his voice and it's actually really nice to the point where she almost interrupts him, but the words are just mouthed in Japanese - a 'what? seriously?' because now she's just really flustered at the lyrics because that's ridiculously cheesy but romantic at the same time.

She feels like she could be sucked into his voice... so when he's done, she can't help but just stare at him with her lips slightly parted in surprise. ]

[ She can't think because she kind of spaced out by his voice. And then she claps her hands together, impressed. ]

[ Fortunately, the song had ended because dear god, did he feel nervous singing the entire time. Even if he did this just recently, it's not something he was going to get used to right away.

Wanting to hide the fact that he was nervous, he glances at her with an egotistic smirk. It really didn't take much for him to grin at her, especially after he gets a good look at her facial expression.

She looked surprised and entranced. It was cute. Showing off in for his girlfriend was always a good feeling, especially since he got to amaze her in the process. ]

Her face is so red right now that she can't help herself. But the fact that he's going to record her too makes her even more nervous and she has to make this a really good song...

And she takes a heavy breath in, then out, trying to calm herself down. ]

I don't watch a lot of it, but it makes good background noise for when I'm studying. And you better not laugh, alright?! Don't laugh at my song choice!!

[ She clears her throat a bit and looks away before she finally chooses her song -- it's a slow, calm song full of emotion; there's something about the way that she sings it that rings notes of what seems to be waves of sadness and longing.

But her singing voice is actually... good? Which probably isn't surprising, of course. ]

[ Said with the most smug expression ever. Leon Zhong is truly in the running for worst boyfriend. They are a terrible twosome.

When he reads the lyrics, the expression in his eyes softens. Not only were the lyrics pretty emotional, he could sense there's a bit of sadness in her voice. She put a lot of emotion in this song and the words made him wonder. It's something that he didn't want to think about but....

For a split second, he looks concerned. He didn't want those negative thoughts running through his head so he tries to shake them out. It's easy to put it on the backburner as he's focusing on Mio's beautiful voice.

It takes him a moment to respond because he's a little spaced out, he was so entranced by her singing he doesn't know what to say at first. She's like a siren who has a firm grasp on his heart. A soft smile curves on his lips along with a pink blush that's colored his cheeks. ]

So when she's done, she honestly has to catch herself a little bit, especially when he compliments her. Her cheeks are tinted slightly and she can't help but feel her heart race when she sees the smile on his lips. But it's only then when she finally speaks, her voice calm-- ]

[ Let her bury her face in her hands because holy shit that second 'thank you' in English was somehow heavily accented and it's the literal worst... is he still recording?! ]

[ Seeing the red tint on her cheeks causes his own to turn even redder. He's getting ready to compliment her but then he suddenly stops when he hears that slip up of hers.

With one of the most obnoxious laughs in existence, Leon pockets the phone with a smug grin. Hearing the way Mio said 'thank you' with that cute accent was going to be a priceless treasure that he would forever keep.

At her suggestion, his face melts into a much more softer expression as he nods at her. ]

I was thinking the same thing. I... wanted to sing a duet with you. Was there a particular song you would like to sing together?

[ The moment she hears that recorded line playing back from his phone is the same moment where Mio Sonozaki dies for the first time today. ]

The songs that are currently up on the Japanse Billboard tend to be like-- songs by idol groups or boy bands. Anime songs tend to hit those charts if the singers are really popular. Like aimer and DAOKO, for example.

[ He taps his fingers against his knee, trying to think of something that they both might know. ] Well, I know a few duets from American movies. In ~~Grease~~ Oil, there's "You're the one I want" and in ~~Frozen~~ Chilly, there was that one song "Love is an Open door".

[ If there's a will, there's a way. She'll figure it out at some point. But she does frown at him poking her cheeks like that. Especially when he's making fun of her! How rude. ]

Also I was right about calling you an old man. Barely anyone knows about Oil. But... "Love is an Open Door" is a really popular song back at home, but I'm only familiar with the Japanese version of that song-- ah, Tobira Akete.

[ Which shows when the song starts and she starts singing, her voice full of emotions that almost don't belong to her. ]

[ Even though he wasn't exactly being believable. As evidenced by the blush coloring his cheeks. He's both nervous and mesmerized by the sound of her voice. Listening to her put so much into her singing made his heart flutter.

There would never be a day where he would get tired of her voice. He loved listening to her.

He lets out an exhale and when it's time for his part, he starts to sing into the microphone. Japanese may not be his first language, but he manages to hold himself pretty well attempting to sing it. There's a bit of mistakes here and there, but he quickly recovers and focuses on the song, putting power and emotion into his voice as he sings. ]
