[closed] TREAT YO'SELF
WHO: Goro Akechi & Izumi Sena
WHERE: wherever they can get sushi
WHEN: 02/15
WHAT: THEY CAME BACK FROM HELL. THEY'RE HAVING SUSHI. and playing twenty questions, eventually
WARNINGS: will add as needed, if needed
[While the first thing he'd done when he'd gotten back in the afternoon was make chocolates for his friends and Akira, there's still a great deal of time between then and the night, when he and Akira plan to meet up for a nice date...
...so he texts Sena and asks him out for sushi, because sushi is a good in this world and fuck if they do not need something expensively tasty to wipe off the past week and a half. His treat.
Sure, the best sushi place in town closed down with the rest of the joint shit getting pushed together, but this place isn't that bad. It's just sort of standard. And off a conveyor belt, so it's not as high class as Goro'd like it to be for the most beautiful boys in the world (them) but it's fine, it's fine, anything tastes like heaven after hell.]
Ah... I don't think I've ever been so happy for the cold before. I'm sure the novelty will wear off, but it certainly was nice walking in it after being close to the mantle. Were you alright, Secchan? Such a drastic change in temperatures would give anyone a headache, but I was worried about you in particular.

but anyways here he is, taking a sip of green tea. ]
I'm just glad I'm back in town, really. I'll never complain about the cold ever again.
[ he'll always prefer the cold anyway. why he's assigned to hell when he's been a good boy all this time, we may never know.
maybe.
but whatever, he's snagging a plate of shrimp tempura roll for himself. he'll keep an eye out for his favorite mackerel along the line. ]
Ah well, at least I'm not the type to faint in the cold myself. The weather pretty much cooled my temper, to be honest.
no subject
That's good. I disliked having my cheeks pulled via Tsukasa, you know.
[Tsukasa, not Suzakura. Catch him calling Tsukasa by his last name to his face though.]
Do you think watermelons would be nice to have in hell?
no subject
He had it coming. He was being even more of a brat than usual who doesn't know when to keep his little mouth shut.
[ nom ]
But for such a tiny mouth, I'm pretty sure he can wolf down an entire watermelon slice all on his own. Too bad watermelons aren't in season right now, though.
no subject
Do you think Zee-san could get us one anyway? They're in season somewhere. It'd be nice... I used to eat it quite a bit when I was younger, though I suppose that's a common memory for people in Japan.
[mmmm. watermelon. Weird to think about while eating fish, but-- oh there's that mackerel, he is Going For It.]
no subject
[ he sees the mackerel too and also goes for it, meeting goro's hand.
uh. ]
Akechin. [ he's all smiles again... not good. ] You really do not want to get between me and my mackerel.
no subject
The mackerel, on the other hand.
Goro smiles just as sweetly, though he won't deny the habitual shiver that runs down his spine at the sight of this particular look on Sena's face.]
I'm treating you, Secchan. I do believe I get first pick?
no subject
[ just tug-tug-tugs at the plate containing the mackerel. are they really doing this now. ]
no subject
I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself. There's certain to be more, so why don't you wait patiently for the next plate?
no subject
[ it's why asuka got him a watch for his bday, yknow ]
You wouldn't deprive me of my precious mackerel after my favorite sushi place "mysteriously" vanished just a few months back, right? I thought you're better than this, Akechin.
[ PLEASE GORO HE'S FUCKING STARVING ]
no subject
Instead of being a detective, I'm going to become a sushi restaurant owner, chef and all. Then you'll never have a lack of mackerel and whatever you or my cat of a boyfriend desires.
[It helps that he's more than a decent cook too, so maybe that actually wouldn't be too bad..? It'd be tough to juggle with modeling though. At least gunning for bit parts in movie productions fits into the same sort of industry.]
no subject
[ taking care of his catboy friends... ]
Why not just work together with Akiyan at the cat cafe, though? I worked at my favorite sushi place as a mascot for a friend and it garnered a lot of customers because of my model status. You could pull it off too.
no subject
[Well, maybe he would..? Hmm.]
It's enough that I've made it my second home. I like taking selfies with the cats and posting it across my social media to help spread the word, I don't need to work there too.
[And it's nice to have a quiet place, too, where he can sit and wait for Akira's break and have some time. Working there would destroy that.]
no subject
You have Instagram?
[ SHIT FAM LET'S BE MUTUALS ]
no subject
Have we really never traded them? For as long as I've known you? This is a war crime, Secchan, I'm ashamed of us. We're fixing that immediately.
[All will be right in the world..! Look at all his food shots. Cat pictures. His beautiful boyfriend. Himself, of course. Scroll at your leisure he's gonna steal a piece of mackerel--]
no subject
Hm? We've only known each other last year, actually. Though I was already a tiny bit aware of you back then.
[ just a tad, because he usually keeps to himself during his job for obvious reasons. this industry can be so overbearing sometimes... ]
no subject
[Another piece of mackerel. Stolen food taste the best.]
I'm surprised to hear that, though. You always usually kept to yourself... Like an untouchable piece of work. Unless Miss Anya was around, in any case, you always seemed to be somewhat close to her. It made me jealous.
[He wanted to be critiqued too??? Gosh. Acknowledge him even a little, senpai.]
... Regardless, I do feel as if I've known you for far longer, though I don't know if that's because we have similar thoughts on certain things or because we simply click well. I think you'd make for a cute childhood friend.
no subject
[ not that there's anything wrong with that, mind, picking up the last piece of mackerel with nary a glance at the plate. what he doesn't know won't hurt goro... for now. he's just chewing while scrolling down his insta feed, liking his way through the photos. it's been a while since he logged in since hell doesn't have reception, obviously. ]
I'd say that you could've just approached me or whenever, but I don't blame you for not doing it till recently. [ he's. more than aware. ] But I don't think you'd recognize me as a child, to be honest. I wasn't always like this.
no subject
Most people don't stay the same, that's true. But being unrecognizable is a little much, isn't it?
no subject
[ haha. his turn on taking the tuna for himself, then. ]
I was scouted at my junior year of my high school because of my eyes, apparently. They were a vibrant shade of blue or whatever the scout told me, I'd forgotten it now.
no subject
[... Anyway.]
I remember you from before the hair change too, though I wouldn't call you boring nor nondescript... then again, Akira was someone you once described as the latter, so perhaps it's a matter of opinion. They took me up due to my looks in general.
[Because he's a pretty boy, but that's all.]
But forget that, return to earlier. Were you still prickly to be around? I've had to defend your kindness and good nature quite often due to your attitude, you know.
no subject
[ huffs ]
I'm not sure, actually. But you know how the industry can be harsh and unforgiving, so I had no choice but to toughen up. It's not like I was meek and shy or anything, but you wouldn't have spotted me in the crowd before I entered modeling.
[ which is... why it was a blessing that not a lot of people knew him from back then. it really was like he's two different people. ]
no subject
I have an eye for the nondescript. That aside, who can I turn to for embarrassing stories of your youth if anyone at all? Makoto-chan is that for Akira, you see, though more in a penpal way... so I plan to milk that for all it's worth.
no subject
[ he says this a lot more gravely this time, but he snaps back to his usual aloofness at a blink of an eye. ]
But at least Akiyan's a lot easier to track down childhood memories of.
[ he's not even going to bite at the fact that there's yet another makoto but it's fine, makoto's a very common japanese name but anyway, give him a moment to grab another passing plate of mackerel and munch on it thoughtfully before - ]
...You know how it feels as if your childhood just doesn't exist at all?
no subject
Yes, I do. I... wasn't particularly fortunate in that area of my life, for different reasons. Was it the same for you?
no subject
[ he wishes that they're seated at a booth instead of a counter since he doesn't want anyone to overhear but the sushi is too good to pass up, ugh ]
Mine was't as traumatic though. It wasn't too big of a deal.
...And that's the problem.
