TEAM THREE EVENT LOG
|
READY: START. Roster: Minato Arisato + Lalli Hotakainen, Chuuya Nakahara + Kit Fawkes, Yaboku Tomioka + Yukine Matsuoka, Natalie Goodman + Elliot Craig, Mimori Togo + Garfield Logan, Leo Valdez + Dante Rantanen, Souji Narukami + Mako Lou, Futaba Isshiki + Li-Na Yiu, Felicia Kilmassen + Lillian Aust, Eijirou Kirishima + Ann Takamaki, Derek Matthews + Rindou Kuninaga, Kon Ishida + John Becket, Izuku Midoriya + Ami Aihara, James Barnes + John Egbert, Keith Kogane + Shin Asuka On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering near the edge of the woods. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a fine troop of horses and Chocobos alike. Saddled up and ready to go, these creatures know the way and anxiously wait for their riders even if it looks like some of you may need to share. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. Word of advice: feed them before you try to bring them back. They're touchy, but they're smart. They know the way to go and they'll be waiting to bring you back. Following Zee's advice, you'll find yourself on a ride west of the city, traveling through the woods for about two hours. As you travel, first the forest seems to grow darker but then it's brighter as you go. In a way, it almost feels as though you're shrinking as everything around you encompasses the area, but rest assure you remain the same size you always were. The sounds of woodland creatures and soothing streams echo around you, greeting you as you enter a region known as Bosuma. ![]() Bright, airy and open, Bosuma is a forest domain larger than life. Populated with towering trees and overgrown mushrooms, the forest is home mostly to animals from the sound of it and it’s rarely quiet. Chattering birds and the trickles of rivers make up the soundtrack for this area and it will take quite a while to walk anywhere to find some sort of civilization. Everything seems to be existing in peace and harmony in this section of the world and the scent of wildflowers mists through the trees as you walk through. The forest itself seems endless and it would take multiple trips and multiple attempts at making a map to get an idea of how large the area really is. Hollows and burrows pop up every now and then and several mossy areas appear to be the home for several creatures. The creatures, amazingly enough, aren’t afraid of human life and will even willingly approach anyone who wanders into their woods. Rabbits, raccoons, birds (finches and quails, most likely), squirrels and even deer will walk right up to you to greet you. Fish flow with the rivers and turtles and lizards bask themselves on the riverbanks to catch some of the sun shining down through the leaves above. However, even though it’s harder to find signs of civilization in this region it isn’t outright impossible. Some exploration will reveal cottages peppering the woods but people are still strangely absent in these parts. In fact, the cottages look as though they were vacated quickly and in hasty circumstances. Some homes have clothing strewn on the floor while others have fresh fruit and fish gathered and hunted for families. The animals won’t be able to answer any questions you may have, but after some time it becomes obvious they are prone to following human life. As night falls though the animals begin to taper off. Rabbits dart back to their rabbit holes and deer prance off into the thickets of trees. Owls begin to hoot and other nighttime critters stir. The forest continues to glow at night and the mushrooms provide an eerie almost iridescent appeal to the dark. It’s only in the dark that it becomes a bit more obvious that you haven’t been as alone as you’ve thought. The walls have ears and the trees have eyes, and at the stroke of midnight a swirl of magic flows through the air as several dryads step out from the trees, shyly approaching for a meet and greet. They have placed their trust in you. Try not to let them down, will you? This is the Team Three Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Three is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective One | General Network Mingle for Group | General Downtime MingleObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

she pauses though, frowning, before looking back at the two of them. ]
Did you guys hear that? It sounded like music, a little.
[ ah well. she goes to follow the dog, landing on one of the stones, and it-- immediately breaks apart under her feet. ribbon. her sentient ribbon that is acting as her feet. god i hate magical girl logic. ANYWAY, the rock breaks, and mimori falls face first towards the water. ]
no subject
[ Look at him, trying valiantly to pretend everything is totally normal. Everything's fine!
When they reach the river, he simply nods in answer to Mimori's question, looking around for the source of the music. Dryads, maybe? It would make sense for them to have panpipes. Though that makes him wonder how they get them - like, do they use the corpses of their dead friends and family for it, or can they just make them out of spare branches or something?
He's about to ask out loud when Mimori takes off after the dog. Cursing, he lunges forward to catch her. ]
no subject
[leo's definitely closer, with chuuya taking up the rear and all-- so when chuuya lunges after him it's so he's close enough to give support, prepared to grab on to him and make use of his gravity control to keep him from being pulled forward if he loses his balance.
the last thing they need is for all of them to fall into the water, he's here to try to keep that from happening.]
no subject
unfortunately, the weird water tentacle creatures will pop out of the water. ]
Oh! We need to go--
no subject
[ He yanks Mimori back as hard as he can and steps forward to put himself between her and the - what is that thing? It's too small to be a proper sea monster, but it's got the tentacles and the teeth for it. They need to get across and away from these things ASAP, but of course there's no other way to cross but the stones before them.
Fan-freaking-tastic. Leo conjures up a fireball in his hands as one of the monsters... spits at them? What the heck? Without taking his eyes off them, he speaks over his shoulder to the others. ]
You guys cross first. I'll try to keep them distracted.
no subject
[a red glow surrounds him before he hops out on to a stone, and when it starts to sink beneath him, he catches himself, left floating just above the surface.]
Don't step on any until I make sure they're solid! Stay back if you need to and I'll come back for you.
[he'll trust leo with those monsters, hopping from rock to rock to see which ones break; he'll test them all just to ensure they're left with alternate options, if one of those things happens to get in the way.]
no subject
You should help Leo. [ and it... ignores her, and stays where it is next to her. she hasn't yet realized that her fairies only care about protecting her and not anyone else, so mimori just stares at it in confusion before sighing and following behind chuuya, keeping a few spaces back to wait for him to check out the stones. ]
Leo! Don't stay with them too long.
no subject
[ He's got one eye on the sea monsters and the other on Chuuya and Mimori as they work they way to the other side. It looks like the monsters don't like trespassers, though, because their attention turns to the other two. One jumps after Chuuya, only stopping with an awful screech when Leo's fireball hits it dead on. ]
no subject
[okay, he's really glad leo seems to have good aim, because fireballs being thrown near him are kind of a concerning thought.
not more concerning than the monsters, though-- the next time a rock breaks beneath his feet, chuuya reaches down to grab a piece of it, increasing its weight before he flings it at a creature nearer to mimori. fuck off, water worm.]
no subject
two small pistols appear put of thin air and into mimori's hands and she'll aim for some of the ones that are heading towards them but aren't quite there yet. she hasn't actually used these particular guns before, so she doesn't want to try aiming at anything too close to chuuya or leo.
meanwhile, chuuhuahua watches from the other side, his tail wagging. ]
no subject
Oh, gross... [ He makes a face and throws fireball into the monster's still-open mouth. ] You know, that dog is awfully cheerful about leading us into danger and not helping.
[ and Leo thought it was cute?! ]
no subject
[it's okay small dog, you're doing your best, probably!!
with the monsters distracted, he hops his way to the other side, where he scoops up a few small rocks from the bank.]
Alright, c'mon, my turn to worry about those guys-- let's get the fuck out of here.
[another one opens its mouth, and chuuya beans it with a heavily weighted stone. he'll give them what support he can from here.]
no subject
but now that chuuya is on the shore, mimori can at least pick up speed and cross faster. she continues to shoot at any of the creatures that are heading towards them. once she reaches the other side, she'll turn back to face the water and try to help leo as well. one of the sea monsters spits at her, and before mimori can react, her lil egg fairy puts up a shield and blocks it. mimori looks more annoyed than thankful though. ]
Why didn't you do help Leo like that when I told you to?!
[ her fairies. ]
no subject
[ Excuse him for wanting a more helpful guide through the woods!! Whatever - he throws one more fireball at the monster closest to the stone path and races across after Mimori, slowing only to wait for the others and pin the dog with an annoyed stare. ]
Well, c'mon, let's go already!
no subject
You're doing fine, boy. Go on.
[god he's so screwed when they have to give this dog back.
but the dog barks and wags its tail before leading them onwards! ...into a part of the forest full of dead, creepy trees, with less and less light. besides that--]
Hey... is it just me or are these things getting bigger? The hell happened out here...
[this is not a comforting part of the woods, and chuuya's drawing his knife, keeping it held ready.]
no subject
[ no, they do seem to be growing. she'll turn on the flashlight on her phone to try to get some light here, because mimori is not a big fan of wandering around in what looks like a haunted as hell forest filled with tree demons. ]
We're probably going to get attacked again, aren't we?
no subject
[ They didn't say much about it, but it's close enough as far as he's concerned. And what is it with Retrospec and sending them into places with creepy woods? This time it's slightly less horror movie-esque, but that doesn't make Leo much happier about it. ]
Probably, [ he agrees with a sigh, flexing his hand until he could feel the tell-tale tingle of the flames just beneath his skin. ] Stay on your toes.
[ ...And then the dog just. Stops, and stares out into the darkness. Which definitely can't be a good sign, and now that they've all stopped... ]
...Can you guys hear that?
no subject
[he stops short there, brow furrowed, because now that leo mentions it... is that something rumbling? the dog whines, turning in an agitated little circle like it wants something. pets please.
though honestly it's just as likely that it won't get pets, because a probable monster coming their way is a damn good distraction. the creature appears, rushing towards them, and chuuya shifts his stance, preparing to launch at it.
... except when he does, it's like the thing knows hes coming, even without eyes. it ducks the swing and swipes at him, catching him in the arm before he lands and skids to a stop, wincing.]
Fuck! Watch it, this thing's fast--
no subject
Chuuya! [ mimori immediately starts to rush towards him, but the monster steps in the way, causing her to come to an abrupt stop. the phone in her hand vanishes and is instantly replaced by one of the pistols from earlier, and mimori shoots at it. the problem with shooting while not moving is that it's not that difficult for the monster to pinpoint where exactly she is.
it swings at her and she leaps out of the way. unfortunately, not in the direction she wanted, considering she was trying to head towards chuuya. ]
Are you okay?!
no subject
Soooo what if he just dives out of the way for a minute to dig through his bag -that's not a problem, right? The chihuahua follows him, whining about wanting attention or something at the worst possible time. ]
Shhh, keep it down, [ Leo hisses, allowing it a quick, rough scratch behind the ear before rummaging through the pockets to produce... fireworks? With a wild grin, he turns it toward the monster and lights the fuse. ]
You guys might want to move!
[ it's too bad the monster won't be able to see the show, though. ]
no subject
[his arm hurts and his partner is probably hating this but he's fine!!
he's not one to ignore a warning when he hears one, though, so as soon as leo says they might want to move? chuuya's off the ground, hovering and ready to get the hell out of the way-- and he grins widely at the sight of the fireworks.]
Hell yes, light this thing up.
no subject
after confirming that the chihuahua is over with leo, mimori moves out of the way, only turning to actually watch if this works or not. ]
no subject
The monster looks... confused, as much as anything without eyes can, and for a moment, it looks like Leo guessed right and making too much noise will leave it too disoriented to go after any of them. But before long, it's back up and racing straight for the source as if it could see perfectly. Leo is on his feet in an instant with a startled yell, throwing a wave of fire to ward it off. ]
no subject
[and it gives chuuya an idea of his own.]
Hey, you two hit this thing, I'll try getting its attention for you!
[when he lands again, it's hard enough to cause tremors that reach the monster-- not enough to make the ground too difficult to stand on, but he's hoping the vibrations will throw it off. it'll probably be able to find the source of the tremors, but if he makes his footsteps heavy and keeps causing them while he moves... it might stop the thing from tracking the others.]
no subject
Can you please watch the dog? [ the fairy actually nods this time, and it scoops the dog up and carries it a little farther away from the battle. well, good thing they got this poor, defenseless animal out of the way!
with that done, she turns her attention back to the monster. the pistols in her hands disappear, and are soon replaced by a sniper rifle; it's harder to use in close combat, but it packs a more powerful blast. ]
Be careful!
