TEAM THREE EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Minato Arisato + Lalli Hotakainen, Chuuya Nakahara + Kit Fawkes, Yaboku Tomioka + Yukine Matsuoka, Natalie Goodman + Elliot Craig, Mimori Togo + Garfield Logan, Leo Valdez + Dante Rantanen, Souji Narukami + Mako Lou, Futaba Isshiki + Li-Na Yiu, Felicia Kilmassen + Lillian Aust, Eijirou Kirishima + Ann Takamaki, Derek Matthews + Rindou Kuninaga, Kon Ishida + John Becket, Izuku Midoriya + Ami Aihara, James Barnes + John Egbert, Keith Kogane + Shin Asuka On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering near the edge of the woods. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a fine troop of horses and Chocobos alike. Saddled up and ready to go, these creatures know the way and anxiously wait for their riders even if it looks like some of you may need to share. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. Word of advice: feed them before you try to bring them back. They're touchy, but they're smart. They know the way to go and they'll be waiting to bring you back. Following Zee's advice, you'll find yourself on a ride west of the city, traveling through the woods for about two hours. As you travel, first the forest seems to grow darker but then it's brighter as you go. In a way, it almost feels as though you're shrinking as everything around you encompasses the area, but rest assure you remain the same size you always were. The sounds of woodland creatures and soothing streams echo around you, greeting you as you enter a region known as Bosuma. ![]() Bright, airy and open, Bosuma is a forest domain larger than life. Populated with towering trees and overgrown mushrooms, the forest is home mostly to animals from the sound of it and it’s rarely quiet. Chattering birds and the trickles of rivers make up the soundtrack for this area and it will take quite a while to walk anywhere to find some sort of civilization. Everything seems to be existing in peace and harmony in this section of the world and the scent of wildflowers mists through the trees as you walk through. The forest itself seems endless and it would take multiple trips and multiple attempts at making a map to get an idea of how large the area really is. Hollows and burrows pop up every now and then and several mossy areas appear to be the home for several creatures. The creatures, amazingly enough, aren’t afraid of human life and will even willingly approach anyone who wanders into their woods. Rabbits, raccoons, birds (finches and quails, most likely), squirrels and even deer will walk right up to you to greet you. Fish flow with the rivers and turtles and lizards bask themselves on the riverbanks to catch some of the sun shining down through the leaves above. However, even though it’s harder to find signs of civilization in this region it isn’t outright impossible. Some exploration will reveal cottages peppering the woods but people are still strangely absent in these parts. In fact, the cottages look as though they were vacated quickly and in hasty circumstances. Some homes have clothing strewn on the floor while others have fresh fruit and fish gathered and hunted for families. The animals won’t be able to answer any questions you may have, but after some time it becomes obvious they are prone to following human life. As night falls though the animals begin to taper off. Rabbits dart back to their rabbit holes and deer prance off into the thickets of trees. Owls begin to hoot and other nighttime critters stir. The forest continues to glow at night and the mushrooms provide an eerie almost iridescent appeal to the dark. It’s only in the dark that it becomes a bit more obvious that you haven’t been as alone as you’ve thought. The walls have ears and the trees have eyes, and at the stroke of midnight a swirl of magic flows through the air as several dryads step out from the trees, shyly approaching for a meet and greet. They have placed their trust in you. Try not to let them down, will you? This is the Team Three Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Three is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective One | General Network Mingle for Group | General Downtime MingleObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
MARCH 2ND
Instead, rather, the group will find themselves returning to the main cluster of cottages with the rescued people in tow and two groups from the swamp carrying a metal box and a wrapped parcel that cannot be opened by their touch alone.
As the group settles in for their last day in the forest, the people of the small village are gracious and hospitable. Fires are started, animals are roasted (and some vegetarian options are available for a certain someone though the villagers are a bit perplexed by the idea) and when all is said and done the villagers will begin to explain.
Many years ago when this particular group moved out and away from the city they discovered this forest and have lived here for quite some time. Everything was peaceful and they were making their living on a barter system, exploring the forest, hunting some animals and cultivating the plant life. They're friends with the dryads and several of the other forest spirits and do their best to protect the area.
One day not too long ago (and if asked, they seem to struggle with pinpointing a direct time) they began to notice several of their animal friends acting strangely and the monsters becoming even more malicious than usual. Magic in the forest began to work less and less and soon they realized a darkness had swept the area. Dark magic was being performed in the heart of the forest and so they sent some explorers out to track the source.
When the group came back, they told a tale of a beautiful woman who lived in the swamp but remained shrouded in the dark energy. When the group failed to join her, the woman revealed herself to be a swamp witch, powerful enough to curse the forest itself to be infected for years to come and for the lifespan of that group to shorten.
The group exploded into dust not long after.
The swamp witch remains hidden in the forest even now and has vowed to get rid of all who aren't worthy of her power and lock away anyone who has seen her. The swamp witch is the one who held all of the prisoners hostage and hid them from sight the moment she got wind of someone new poking around the forest a few months ago.
The villagers will relay that the forest is even bigger than this group's managed to cover and they've only uncovered the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. It's dense with trees and plants and monsters, and it's why they can't find the witch now.
While this is happening, the Huntswoman and her centaur linger and draws her attention to the box and the parcel. She takes them and begins to open them, unveiling a few things.
In the parcel is a scabbard and a sword, faintly glowing and the Huntswoman looks briefly alarmed. Though she doesn't know anything of Retrospec or what they're doing, she recognizes the rabbit on the hilt and speaks highly of the Lady Knight. The sword remains in her possession to be further examined, especially given that the tip is crackling with power.
The box, however, has something more unusual.
Inside the box are diagrams of the city of Recollé including a picture that almost looks similar to this format. At the center is the city of Recollé and the rings moving outward are labeled in small, cursive handwriting.
The first ring: "Awareness. Sense of something amiss, though easily explained away as things as they've always been. Meant to preserve order and balance from those who are not under reconstruction."
The second ring: "Awakening. An understanding that life as you know it may not be as it appears, the first portion of recreation and reconstruction. The full ability to see the first layer."
The third ring: "Enlightenment. Beginning to reconstruct as soul energy grows and flourishes. Retrieval of original form. Abilities begin to form and changes begin to occur."
The fourth ring: "Exploration. The ability to further see and explore areas outside of the safe haven/hub. Souls just beginning reconstruction will be too fragile to explore far.
Solution: stabilization."
The fifth ring: "Expansion. The full purpose of the project begins to expand in this layer and allows for an overlay."
The other rings appear to be unlabeled so far.
In addition, they will find what appears to be a few items including what appears to be a vial of white, wispy smoke tinged with pink, another vial of black smoke, a map of Recollé in its early years and a full map of where Pesgare, Respatrum Bosuma, and Magatus are in relation, more unlabeled areas outside of that to indicate Retrospec's boundary lines, and a report from G. Mahoney.
Most of the report appears to be written in an unidentifiable language and attached are charts indicating projected soul reconstruction times, distances to travel, and a few notes that are written in English.
Everything else is written in the same unreadable language.
It appears as though the sword and the box have been hidden in the forest to prevent anyone else from finding them before now. The huntswoman will keep the sword, but the box may be kept.
On 3/2 a text message from Zee will hit everyone's phones.
With that, it doesn't take long for a group of horses and chocobos to appear (some pulling carts behind them) to bring everyone back home. Thank you for your time with the Recollé Restoration Initiative. Goodbye.
