I've never seen anything quite like that - a few strange transformations that I can't explain, granted, but nothing that seems as commonplace as what Silver is describing.

It sounds like a natural thing, at least, as opposed to anything humans are inducing. Which is a fascinating thing to think about, in its own way.

My interest has been with vaccines lately.

[And that's kind of TAKE A WILD GUESS AS TO WHY but hey, at least he's being productive with it.]

It's proving to be more worthwhile than I'd initially thought; I'm pleased with current progress, at any rate.

[ She does have some medical background, even if she ... like only has a mostly complete nursing degree and experience as a phlebotomist. She won't keep up with the technicals, but she does seem genuinely interested. ]

I mean, this is very "look at all this quality RP right here" but holy shit please don't make me have to figure out a way to explain this because I know my limits; the important part is the focus on antibody recognition and stimulation - like, if this works it's going to go great, if it doesn't jesus christ, but then that's why we have people who work in pharmaceuticals to begin with, to hopefully avoid the sheer amount of "jesus christ" that would result in all the playing God with people's immune systems that he's doing here.]

It's largely still in development; I haven't moved to testing yet. But it seems promising.

It's something I've been working with for some time now; if it works out, then it does. If not... Well, I find it worth the attempt.

Oh no, of course. When it comes to medical science, it's worth trying. After all, the potential benefits of something like that could be groundbreaking even if it's a minor success.

[ She ... okay she's going to pour back in a little wine, the water is working to stabilize her. ]

I sometimes think about going back and finishing out the degree. Or take some classes or sit in on more lectures or seminars. Maybe even going for med school proper, but ... the time never felt right and it's not like I need to, and the more this city goes crazy the less proper the timing feels.

...I'd argue that the city going crazy is a solid reason to try it; we could use more professionals in the field when everything is less than stable, and I know we've lost at least one doctor recently from the network.

[He tries really hard to not think about the people that used to be connected but aren't anymore, and it's rare for him to bring it up; it's not as close to him as it was to Elda, given Toushiro, but at the same time... Nngh.]
