I want to be useful.

There's a marked difference with you, when it comes to the things you do through obligation and things you do through a desire to do them.

She's never thought of it like that and she rests a hand on her palm. ]
I'm not really getting any memories of fighting, or at least not the way some people apparently are from that fight club thing.

[...]
...The people here need someone to listen to, more than someone to fight on their behalf. At least in my experience. Consider it another takeaway from August.

[ Tapping a finger on the table, she tries to put a finger on the pulse of why she's hesitant. ]
... It's strange, I suppose. Is all.

[Elda...]

[ But that makes her snort. He's right. ]

[He does sound amused, though.]
Well, as someone whose previous life apparently did lead a tactical forces unit for...some utterly incomprehensible reason, I'm sure, I have utmost faith.

I don't actually know what sort of setup I was working with when all of that started; I did business with plenty of powerful individuals, but most of my work seems to have been done alone.
[This is actually a lot easier to discuss than he'd thought it would be. Huh.]
No, I used to work with a particularly militarized unit of a city's police force. Because my life feels the need to be utterly baffling at all times, apparently.

Sounds like you switched careers near as much as I switched out majors, then, back in college.

[...You know, at least he's not being unbelievably negative about this today. Small miracles, maybe.]

[ As compared to... Wesker's thing... at least... ]

Odd or not, I do hope it's more or less as it seems.
no subject
... Mmm. I suppose I won't know it until I see it.

[ . . . ]
And Albert. I... likely will eventually need to feed on blood. I'm still not really sure what to think about that.

I expected as much, given everything else.
[Nailed it- ]
...I can't allow you to do that to me at any point, while you're still trying to transition into it or otherwise. Not because I don't trust you, because I do, but because I have reason to be concerned about my health going forward - I don't know what Retrospec can do to me in that regard, but I do know things stop looking promising after a while.
I would allow it, normally, were it not for that.
[...
there was an attempt.]

[ . . . But that's- ]
Was the past life ill or something?

... And it's interesting, Wesker's switch from first to third person when its something he's less certain of. ]
... I see. I - no, I appreciate both the warning and the sentiment you would offer, even if I didn't... I still don't think I want it. [ . . . ] I don't know if if people die from it or not, if I'm honest.

...NOT LIKE MUCH OF THIS DISCUSSION HAS BEEN, in hindsight, but you know what, still.]
I understand. It's... Well, I can see where the change would unsettle you.

I wonder, if I had a daughter, would she have ended up looking like that woman's granddaughter?
