[Open] And This 'Real', It's Impossible If Possible
WHO: John Egbert
windeity + OTA
WHERE: A few places such as an open park, the RU campus, the fancy new Retrospec mailbox, RU dormitories, and more
WHEN: The month of November! (Some prompts have specific dates)
WHAT: A November catch-all featuring larger-than-life regains, mutant kittens, crash courses in flight, mailbox experiments, turkey hunts and etc.
WARNINGS: None for now!
A.) November 6th, You've Got Mail
[So okay. He's used the mailbox a few times now mostly to pull items out, but he did say that he was interested in learning about the failsafes and all of that. Today, John can be found lingering by the box and the wafflehouse as he examines it, sticking a few items back into the box before receiving new tickets. The tickets go back in in exchange for the items. This process repeats for a while before John seemingly summons his biology book out of nowhere (his sylladex), examining it and eyeballing the mailbox before noticing someone else approach.]
Want to spot me really quick for an experiment?
B.) Various dates in November, That's How a Superhero Learns To Fly
[He knew it was too good to be true. He had an easy enough time flying when he first learned that he could (floating in his sleep aside) but now that he really wants to get the hang of it it seems nearly impossible to control on command. For a while, he seems to be doing well. He can control his speed and how high he can go, he can change direction on a dime, and it feels almost natural. It's only when he starts to think too much that his flight goes awry and he finds himself zipping in the wrong direction, rocketing up way past the rooftops of buildings or, in some cases, slamming right into a window.
Hopefully it wasn't yours?
He doesn't seem to mind doing this in public either, so it's not exactly hard to miss a boy floating through the air and crashlanding around the Recollé University campus and some parts of Tisse. Call up to him, call him out for smearing the glass on your window, whatever.]
C1.) Various dates in November, A WildGoose Turkey Chase
[Birds are assholes. John's decided this a while ago and while they're all feathery douchebags he doesn't seem to mind the prospect of catching them for the cash prize. The good thing is that he has a little friend that can help him with his hunting. With her green collar and small stature, Mewpac seems to find it easy to spot her prey, wiggling like she's ready to pounce--
--before she darts over to the closest stranger instead to pounce on shoelaces.]
Mewpac, come on! [John's shouting is enough to send the bird running away, too, and John groans in frustration.] Damnit.
[Oh well. What ever will you do with a four-eyed kitten on your shoe and an idiot teenager cursing at wild birds?]
C2.) Various dates in November, Turkey Season
[After a while John decides it's easer to hunt without his cat and can be found sneaking after an unsuspecting bird. The turkey wobbles and gobbles as it walks down the sidewalk, laying a golden egg and leaving John to pick it up curiously. The turkey somehow doesn't seem to notice and John shakes the egg, unable to tell what's up with it. For anyone passing by though, he draws their attention while holding onto the egg itself.]
Feel like making fifty bucks? [He gestures to the turkey that's still leisurely walking away. This looks way too easy, doesn't it?]
D.) November 10th, You Know It Is Time For The Hammer To Fall
[Today, John finds himself over in Hollingberry Field where there's plenty of space for him to move freely. His car's parked a short distance away and he's careful to ensure that he's alone before he moves to suddenly drop a large hammer out of his strife deck and down to the ground.
He knew the ticket had described this as "a very, very big hammer", but this was ridiculous.
For the most part he's busy studying it, trying to figure out how he's supposed to actually lift this stupid thing or what to do with it. He can be found trying to push it and trying to lift it, arms straining just a bit and John digging his heels into the ground.
There is a way. There is a way to move this thing that he doesn't quite know of yet but for now he seems to be working with this. You may come across him during his struggles, or maybe later you'll find him flat-out sitting on top of the hammer itself and frowning in concentration. Either way, he'll stop what he's doing and give a tentative wave.]
I would say "this isn't what it looks like" but I have no other way to even begin to explain this.
E.) Various dates in November, Wildcard
[Or you can find John during the rest of the month for other things! People who are familiar with the RU campus may find him spending a lot of time in one of the music practice rooms at a piano. Others may find him working his shift at the movie theater, or perhaps you just find him sleeping on his homework in the library. Feel free to hit me with anything else you want from the above prompts, too, or contact me via PM/at
alternatively and I can write you a special prompt ♥!]

The noise is loud enough to rattle the cupboards, and down the hall he can hear the dogs start to yip in their kennels at the disturbance as Sora rushes to the window and yanks it up and open to stick his head outside. A flying college student was not what he expected.]
Dude, are you okay?!
no subject
Totally fine. That was not completely weird or embarrassing at all. [Sora being in the break room alone is a blessing, but also, it's Sora.] Uh. Sorry for freaking out the dogs...

B WOOSH!
That was when he sensed something moving in his direction from overhead. It was too large to be a bird, definitely too quiet for a drone or small aircraft. He paused to listen. Was that a voice? It's hard to tell with all the wind blowing around it, it's almost like the air is shifting dramatically because of the object rather than blowing past it. ]
What in the-?
no subject
It takes a few moments mostly due to being startled by the loss of control, but he's getting to his feet and glancing over at the man on the roof. This should bother him, but he's been on enough rooftops lately that all he can do is:]
...sorry about that. [Matt should be able to recognize his voice by now, at least.] I didn't think anybody else would be up here when I aimed to land.

[closed to Dave Strider, 11/7]
The theme of the place for the month is a little startling but you know. This whole city's startling by now and so it gets brushed off before he settles at a table by himself. He's already back to work not long after, taking out a composition book to write in and using his left hand to pet the kitten who has moved into his lap. He's aware this is Dave's section and so he'll wait.]

WINNER WINNER TURKEY DINNER
[ YES?? ]
--W...what do you want me to do?
no subject
See that bird over there? [A not -so-subtle point at the turkey.] We need to catch that thing and bring it back to city hall. I guess the Mayor put out a warrant for their arrest or whatever and anyone who turns in a bird gets paid. Have you ever trapped a turkey before?

[She's definitely giving the item another perplexed look, confused, before she glances back at him.]
Where did that even come from?
no subject
I'm trying to pick it up, and I know that has to be possible, but the dumb thing won't move. I got it from that mailbox though. You remember Maurice saying he'd send out tickets? One of those things.

All things said, she gets up from her table pretty calmly, opening up the window to look out as she talks around a mouthful of cake to flatly say:]
What the fuck.
no subject
Sorry! Sorry, it was either the window or the building itself and the window seemed a little more forgiving in this case. I am still getting used to longevity.

There's always the risk of someone not being on the network and noticing he has a mutant cat, so he keeps his expression fairly calm as he speaks up.]
Sorry. She seems to think anything that dangles is a toy for her. [The kitten mews in agreement, this time blinking her eyes individually.]

There is... a person... clinging to one of the windows...? Holy shit there's a person..!?! And this isn't exactly the bottom floor of the building, either!!
Koutarou hurries over and instead of opening the window the boy is stuck to, he opens the one right next to it, and he grabs him to pull him inside. ]
What are you doing!?

Practicing, I think! [It definitely doesn't look like much, but he's doing his best.] I am getting a little better at control but sometimes things happen.

B, any day before the 11th because I dropped the ball
Fortunately there's also a balcony beneath those windows, and while it was far too cold to consider sitting outside there's still someone out there in a moment.
That somewhat judgmental older lady with the dragon problem last month is the one peering incredulously out of a door in the wall of glass.]
...how did you get up here?

What.]
fingerguns, no worries
Sort of like this? [He gestures to the floating.] I am still getting used to it. Sorry about the glass.
