Upon arriving in the very nice apartment building, one will find a couple of what looks like secret service agents at one of the elevators. Tell them you're going to Jirou's party and they'll tell you what floor. Step inside the elevator and you'll find it decorated with bats and spooky lights. Just the sort of thing that is perfect for the event you're about to step into because Jirou has gone all out.

He's bought out the entire floor that he lives on and when you get off the elevator the entire hallway is decorated in spooky decor. If you step out of this elevator without a costume then you will be immediately shuffled off to one apartment by a pair of more secret service agent types (Jirou's dressed all the bodyguards this way) and told that you will be waiting here until you can be put into a costume. For those with a costume well it's time to enjoy the festivities!

Every apartment is clearly labeled for what it is. Food and drink. Spooky stories. Scary movies. Party games. Haunted house. It looks like Jirou has everything covered!

In party games, one can participate in all the usual activities. Bobbing for apples, a fun cake walk... Name a fun carnival activity and Jirou has something for it! So have fun and win prizes of fancy pastries and candies! There are plenty to go around so you can possibly win more than once if you really want to put the effort into it!

In the haunted house apartment, you will start in a well lit entryway where you will then be given a ghostly guide (someone dressed up in a ghost attire) and then taken through the apartment to the various scares. A kitchen where it seems that people are on the menu, a living room that seems to have two terrifying children staring at a static screen, bathrooms with what seems like bloody baths, coffins in the bedrooms. There are plenty of jump scares and if you feel that you can make it through this all the way you'll be rewarded with a fancy dessert dining experience. So do try to be brave.

In scary movies there are three movies going on at any given time. In the main area you can get popcorn and drinks then pick from gore, psychological, and random. There is always some movie going on so take your pick for which you'd like to partake in! Ritsu has done a great job in helping Jirou pick out the movies.

In spooky stories you can go to hear lots of terrifying ghost stories! The apartment is emptied out so you'll easily be able to grab some pillows from the helpful ghost at the door then go make yourself comfortable for a night of spooks. Or, if you feel really bold, try to scare friends and stranger with scary stories of your own!

Finally there is the apartment for food and drink. It comes with a full service bar that can provide you with anything but comes with a variety of Halloween themed drinks. Don't worry those of you not allowed alcohol because you have some fun drinks as well. Plus there are delicious snacks to pick from so everyone can be happy as they eat and socialize in this room.

So enjoy yourselves and have a great time because this party is going on all night. It won't be over until the sun starts to rise the next day!

You have to wear a costume. If you don't then you will be put into a costume by Jirou and Fai and they have full creative rights to it. So while you will look AMAZING you also may not end up in the costume you want. 2. No people who are underage will be allowed alcohol. So please if you have an underage character do not have anything like someone slipped them a drink or drunken mishaps or anything.

Eh— Who're you supposed to be?

[Rude, Kashuu. BUT HE'S CURIOUS and largely distracted, because dang, this is a weird situation to be in.]

[ Wow, rude is right, Kashuu!! But also kinda fair, since Hajime Saito isn't as crazy popular as Hijikata or Okita. But Kiryu really put a lot of thought into his costume, so he's happy to answer. ]

Oh, I'm Hajime Saito. Captain of the third division of the Shinsengumi.

[ There's even a little three on the back of his haori. He's really paying attention to detail here. ]

[THE RUDE BEAN IS HIM. Though he's also not a buff when it comes to Japanese history at all, despite having lived there on and off for pretty much his entire life.]

Huh... Are you, like, really into that kinda stuff? The Shinsengumi or whatever.

[ Meanwhile Kiryu, big nerd that he is, loves this stuff. ]

Yeah. I only visited Japan as a kid but both my parents are from there. I've always tried to keep up with Japanese history and stuff, so I can feel more connected to it, you know?

Makes sense, yeah... I used to live there, too. Never really spent a lot of time actually reading up on stuff like this though, you know?

[Since to him, there hadn't been a reason to until... recently...]

I guess so.

[ He shrugs. Kiryu probably read manga and imported video games as a kid to try and keep up with his Japanese, but it didn't really stick until his regains gave him his fluency back. ]

It's really interesting though. The Shinsengumi defended Kyoto and were really important towards the end of the Shogunate. [ Ok, nerd. ] Plus their haori are really cool.

They definitely stand out, that's for sure. That kinda color was super rare back then, yeah?

[He's quiet for a second after that, because there's no real way to broach this kind of topic without sounding totally insane...

But look, he's gotta try.]

D'you know anything about, um. Okita Souji?

Yeah, this kind of light blue would have stood out even more back then.

[ Since, y'know, dyes weren't made in a factory or any of that nonense. But Kiryu doesn't find Kashuu's question all that strange. He nods. ]

Yeah, he's really popular, actually. He was the captain of one of their divisions. He was known for being really handsome and really violent, too.

[ And looking like Majima in Kiryu's canon, but Kiryu wouldn't remember that. ]

It's kinda nice, though. It reminds me of the sky, y'know? Like, in the middle of summer when everything's really bright.

[Even if they did stand out like sore thumbs because of it... He nods along as Kiryu explains things, though. Violent? Yeah, he can agree with that. He still doesn't remember Souji's face, though. Handsome, huh...]

Right. They might have been going for that.

[ Ah, remember when the sky was blue. Those were good days. ]

He was, yeah. [ Kiryu looks down, obviously this isn't why they picked Okita Souji. ] I think he died from tuberculosis.

[THEY'LL RETURN SOON AT LEAST but for now, sure is apocolypto town up in here.]

You think? [About the blue... He doesn't remember why, though he supposes he might eventually.

He purses his lips at that though, nodding.]

Yeah... Yeah, I think you're right about that. He was coughing up blood a lot, right?

It would make sense. Drawing attention to yourself is kind of like showing off how badass you are. Plus they had "sincerity" on the back of their coats, right? They weren't trying to hide.

[ I think it was sincerity anyway, or maybe that's just in Ishin? Where are you getting your facts, Kiryu. ]

That's right. He died really young compared to most of the rest of them.

[IT SURE IS SINCERITY. Not that Kashuu remembers yet, so he just nods along, since history buffs are to be trusted.]

Mm, yeah, that sounds like 'em. Really loud and proud and all that, right? Honestly, they still seem like something straight outta some novel to me.

[Including the part where their apparent most talented captain died younger than the rest.]

[ Definitely a history buff and not a Shinsengumi nerd, nope. ]

Yeah, that's probably why people like them so much. There have been dramas about them in Japan for decades. They're the kind of guys people write stories about, you know? They're almost larger than life.

Makes sense, I think. I didn't really pay much attention to 'em... That kind of stuff wasn't really my thing, you know? But, uh. [It's still weird as hell to refer to himself like the object he had once been, though.]

[ After you remember hiring a chicken to work for you, things can't get much weirder. ]

[ He almost wants to ask if Okita brought him to life with his love or something but that seems... weird. ]

That must be pretty weird to realize.

[ Like, he's gotten back "oh, I was a criminal," he can't imagine "oh, I was a sword" ]

[That is definitely on its own tier of weird, congrats mafia...

There's just a lot of weirdness going on in this conversation right now, though he seems to be pretty well-settled about most of it. It's just a thing you gotta get used to when you're a sword!]

It's... yeah. Weird's putting it super lightly. I mean, imagine if you remembered you used to be a table or hairbrush or something, y'know? But I guess swords are kinda in their own tier.

[Considering how many of them are still prized museum pieces today.]

[ Kiryu can be chill about most things, you picked the right guy to tell about this whole 'being a sword' thing. ]

Yeah, that's not really something you can prepare for. Swords are cool, at least. And a lot of effort goes into making them.

Mm, yeah... I've been learning a lot more about 'em recently, since I didn't pay much attention before. I guess it's pretty cool.

It might be possible, but that wasn't the case for me, I'm pretty sure. I don't remember being "born" or anything, but I don't think I was anywhere before that sword was forged.
