[The night had come, and Yukiko was ready for the Best Holiday. The entire apartment was decked out in her Halloween best. Candles all around the room, with fake spider-webs and stick on ghosts adorning the windows and walls. Food was set on tables, some of it themed for the season. Peeled grape "eyeballs" and cookie sandwiches, pumpkin cakes, and pudding cups sit alongside pizza and the usual party food like chips and dip. Only some of it had turned out poorly, thankfully, and that had been easy to identify once Yukiko had gotten back into a cooking groove.

Just as important, though, was the selection of movies. Horror was Yukiko's thing, and she had a wide range of movies from the classics like Friday the 13th and Hellraiser to some foreign things like The Wailing and Train to Busan. She even has the Addams Clan Values set out if anyone wants a breather.

Answering the door in her new Retrospec gifted outfit, she beams at whoever shows.]

But it's a little sort of...one trick pony? You have magic spells and healing powers and are fireproof. And I don't even know what other people's persona's do. I've only ever seen yours and Akira's.

More of the same. Magic spells and elemental stuff. But...you can also do all those crazy agility things?

[Eleanor smiled and shook her head.]

I'm not looking down on my powers, Yukiko. I like them. Really. The...whatever we're calling my reflexes are great when I slip in the shower. [She snickers.]

It's mostly just the versatility, I guess. Or maybe it's the mystery. Though I suppose all my powers are mysteries since I cannot figure out how she got them.

That's one thing I know, for sure. But the way other me got powers is weird. And it involves a doppelganger of herself in a princess outfit?

A...what? [She sat up a bit straighter.] You're going to have to explain that a bit more, Yukiko.

I mean, there's these things called Shadows. And sometimes they look like people and are sort of like your hidden side. The bad thoughts you have.

Mine wore a princess's dress.

[Eleanor wasn't sure what to really make of that. But it at least explained Yukiko's dislike of her title at Prom. Still...]

What happens? Did you have...fight your bad thought clone?

Well, not the first time. The first time I had to accept it. Then it became my Persona?

I think? It's weird.

The second time I had to beat her up.

You accept your bad thoughts and they turn into your guardian angel.

[Well that certainly sounded nice. Though Eleanor wasn't sure she would want her own bad thoughts lurking around, accepted or not. Especially not the other Eleanor's...]

[But her thoughtful expression turns amused.]

After you accepted her? You two have an argument first or something?

Well...yes? Sort of?

[That's the part she's not totally sure of.]

Yu and Yosuke and that Chie girl fought her. Sort of to calm her down I think? I haven't remembered that whole thing, just chunks here and there.

[There was that little pang of jealousy again, knowing their was this group of people who understood the things Yukiko was seeing so much more than Eleanor ever would. But she pushed it aside.]

Isn't that just the way of it? Never showing us enough for things to actually make sense, just enough to keep them mysterious.

Yeah. It's definitely not my favorite way to go about this stuff. But it's what we got.

[She wants to know the whole story, dammit.]

But anyway, that's how other Yukiko got her powers.

It's certainly...well. Yeah. Weird.

[Eleanor laughed softly.]

You know, I've never actually really thought about how the other Eleanor got her powers. I mean...lots of people there have them, but there still has to...

[She frowned to herself, her gaze distant. Hm.]

Mmm.

[Yukiko hummed and slid closer, leaning against Eleanor just in case she was actually bothered by that.]

Well, we know where they came from here. Retrospec. And that's okay. I think it is, anyway.

[Eleanor tossed the other girl a smile as she picked up on what she was doing, and gave her a little shoulder bump back.]

No, I mean, I know I got them. Well, as much as any of us know how retrospec does it. But...I suppose I just hadn't really thought about how it worked for her. Back there. I mean, it looks like half the city had superpowers. But there were all different. Some could throw fireballs, some could teleport, or throw ice it...

[Hm.]

I just don't know how. And why were all of them mad, but she wasn't? Or maybe she was and I can't tell since I mean, they're her memories. Can we tell when we're crazy?

I don't think it's easy to tell if you're mad or not, but honestly from what you've said she was too rational to be mad. People don't just build machines and stuff while they're frothing at the mouth like those weirdos that attacked us after that comic book convention.

[Wiping her fingers clean of caramel on a wet napkin, she curled an arm around Eleanor's]

I don't know how an entire population could have superpowers though. Do you think it was all mad science experiments or something? Like that spider-boy character from comic books...

[Eleanor leaned against Yukiko when the other hooked her arm, raising her other hand into the air with a grin, as if tracing out a title.]

Buuuut I don't know. Considering everything else that doesn't quite seem possible there, science-wise, I suppose it being some ridiculous science experiment might make sense. I'm sure it's not magic, at least.

[Yukiko giggled softly, but thankfully without the laughing fit. It was a serious topic, she guessed. And something Eleanor probably needed to figure out, in her own head. Just for her own peace of mind.]
