WHO: Mako and YOU, totally OTA.
WHERE: In the city center??
WHEN: 10/9
WHAT: Get bloodbent.
WARNINGS: Check under the cut. But potentially, blood bending can go as bad as you want.

[the fog seems to lay on especially thick this evening, It’s hard to see too far in front of you, and the air seems especially cold. Almost like it’s the dead of December, and not October at all.

In the distance, you can hear the sounds of the city, but really… it sounds far too distant for the busy street you just stepped off of.

The only figure you can see is Mako—who is waiting at the corner for the light to change, and honestly, he looks a little concerned. It’s extremely unusual for the fog to get this bad. They aren’t in San Francisco, after all. And this street is almost never dead, not even in the middle of the night.

He doesn’t extend any conversation—after all, why would he? He’s trying to get somewhere important.

But there appears to be another hooded figure… Waiting.]

((ooc: the figure is Amon, the villain from the first book of legend of korra. And spoiler alert for a 5 year old season, he is a bloodbender.

What is blood bending? It is where a water bender will literally use the water inside of your blood to bend… you! Most often in the show, it is used to knock people unconscious. But Amon knows how to use it to a much more devastating effect. If your powers depend on energy inside of your character, Amon can disrupt the flow of that energy. He can force you to move in ways you don’t want to, break bones, etc.

I am happy to use this to devastating effect, or just to frighten your character! PLEASE, if we have not discussed beforehand, give me a heads up either in your comment, pm to my journal, on my HMD, whatever, of what you’re looking for. I want this to be fun, and I don’t want to leave people going “Awww” who wanted something worse, or people going “OMG THAT WAS TOO MUCH” for people who want just a little scarytimes.

[As soon as Derek hits the ground he instantly tries to get up, but his limbs are so sore he can only crawl. He suddenly feels hands grab him and start to lift him up. Realizing it's Mako, Derek grabs onto him for dear life and attempts to pull himself up. Once finally on his feet, he still needs to hang onto Mako or risk falling down again. He moves as fast as he can, he can only hope it's enough to get away from the person who did this to him.]

Yeah, I'm trying. Still trying to regain the movement of my limbs. Who the hell is that?

I have no idea, but we need to keep moving!

[Mako did not want to get seized by that feeling again. And unfortunately, while Derek was just getting started, Mako collapses to the group, frozen. He's tense-- trapped by an unseen vise, that so far? Has spared Derek. But only for the moment.

Amon is stepping towards them again, unhurried.]

[When Mako collapsed Derek came down with him. There was no way he would be able to stand without Mako's help. Derek hits the pavement hard, scraping the side of his face. Squinting through the sudden pain in his head, Derek sees Mako is frozen and no moving. Is that guy doing to Mako what he had just done to him? Derek's question is quickly answered by feeling the unpleasant familiar feeling of his blood locking into place. Derek can't move no matter how hard he tries and he can see the hooded man come closer to them, he hands stretched out.]

S-st-stop i-it.

[Amon isn't after Derek, but he won't let loose ends go. What he's really after is bending. He holds both of them up with his bending, and the pressure on their bones increases, driving home that they shouldn't resist. Mako doesn't cry out this time, but he's looking for an escape.

any escape.]

"I'm afraid I can't, not until I've cleansed the sin of bending from this world."

[he pulls Mako close, and there's... something. Mako isn't sure what he's doing, but he knows it's bad. He just needs to pull together something-- anything.

Finding calm. The positive and negative chi, like he remembers in his memories.

And channeling that-- through his hands, and to Amon, in the form of lightning. It throws Amon back, and he collapses.

But it frees Mako and Derek.]

[Derek's feels his body become free and fall the the ground. He can move, but he is far too weak to stand. His body is still in a lot of pain. He shakily pulls out his gun, sits up a bit, and aims the gun at Ammon who is getting up again. Derek pulls the trigger and a bullet goes right into Ammon's shoulder.]

Take that you bastard!

[well, that's... effective. Amon steps back, his eyes behind his mask wide. Mako pulls himself up after that, trying his best to not cringe at the sound of the gun. He really needed to get that instinctive reaction under control.

But it does dull his response a bit as he tries not to go back in time with his memories...]

Derek--

[but hey, when Amon tries to bend them again, it's... actually possible to move? If hard. His bending is way less effective]</small?

[Derek barely hears Mako say his name. He's too angry. Six hooded figures, a griffin, a creepy ass ghost, a crazy machete wielding motorcyclist, a werewolf, violent raccoon things, and killer vines in the Retrospec building. This is all he has been through in past ten days. The blood is pounding in his ears. NO MORE! The line will be drawn here! He gun actually works here! His arms are shaking with anger and pain as he tries to stead the gun. Taking aim, he shoots and a bullet grazes the mans other shoulder.]

Damn, I missed.
