A hero takes your hand
WHO: Sakura Kinomoto, OPEN
WHERE: The Confectionary Bakery, Mall, Library
WHEN: 20th September
WHAT: Sakura out at work or out and about shopping or working on homework at the library.
WARNINGS: None off of the top of my head.
Confectionary:
[Sakura looks up when the door opens, her hair shifting a little with the movement of her head as she smiles and welcomes the new arrival. She's at least sort of used to the uniform by now, and dressing up in general thanks to her best friend taking sewing classes and wanting a model of sorts to make sure her outfits fit and looks alright when worn. She stands at the counter, which is luckily low enough for her not to have trouble with, smiling with a wave before gesturing to the displays of cupcakes.]
Hello! Which flavor would you like today?
[Or, perhaps, if she sees the customer here often enough, she'll ask if they want their usual order. If she has noticed they seem to have a particular favourite.]
Mall:
At least I'm ready school wise. So there's just the groceries to get for tonight and anything for tomorrow. But I guess while I'm here I should look for a new jacket.....
[It's quiet. More some habit of talking to herself to not forget her errands or such. But that doesn't mean others might not overhear her while she is there to primarily figure some groceries, but also perhaps a couple of other things too. Sakura can be found around the aisles of the supermarket or perhaps in the clothing stores, eyeing a new top or coat or skirt, perhaps.]
Library:
[Sakura usually figures it easier to study if she stays at the library and isn't distracted by the cleaning or cooking until she's actually done her homework, if she comes by after school once she finishes classes. She might be sitting down with her textbooks and laptop trying to get through some of said homework this afternoon. She might be chewing at her pen or pencil, or perhaps someone notices her frowning and pouting at her notes or textbook as she tries to figure something out. She might just be distracted still wondering what her recent memory means. The contract.....that...er, talking stuffed toy? How can she be expected to keep up with school with weird things like that? If more of this might happen? She puts her head down at her arms, groaning into the fabric of the sleeves of her shirt.
Or maybe she is instead found a little after, having finished and then taken to wandering the shelves of books for something non school related to read in the evenings.]

[She scans the display before pointing it out, so he can see the cupcake in question.]
This one, here.

Hmmmm, that sounds a bit sugary for me at the moment. How about the devil's food, I'll take one of those.
[Derek looks back up at Sakura.]
Do you guys have any teas?

[But at the least, she can help with the cupcake. Sakura uses the tongs to procure the one he selected, bringing it up to the counter, giving the price before asking if he wanted a container for it or not.]
no subject
Yes, a container please.
[He watches her as she rings him up. With a bit of concern in his voice asks her the question that had weighed on his mind since he came in.]
Aren't you a bit young to be working? Especially alone in store or is there a adult in the back?
no subject
[That was obviously going to be part of the arrangement of her helping out, that she wasn't alone. Otherwise even if she'd wanted to help pay something towards the bills, or her schooling, her brother probably wouldn't have allowed it. She takes the money and passes him his change from the register before grabbing a container for his purchase.]
Here we go!

Miss Sakura, a word of advice from a concerned stranger, choose your words carefully when you answer a question from someone. A young girl alone at the front of the store is never a safe situation so saying that you only 'think' some one 'might' be in the back can be enough for someone to take their chances and grab you and take you out of this store. Be more confident in yourself. Confidence deters most creeps.
Also, let your manager know that I think it is irresponsible to let a girl as young as you man the front by herself. They should be more concerned about the safety of their employees.
[Derek removes his fingers from atop his business card and shoves his free hand into his jacket pocket. He nods towards his card.]
That's my business card, I'm a CSI at Recolle Police department. If you are anywhere in the city and need help, give me a call.

[He's probably not wrong. As much as Sakura as the cashier probably does help sales some, it also isn't the best position, the safest, to have her out front alone. Her green eyes blink, glancing down when he places the card on the counter before looking back up to him through her bangs.
Of course, she probably would have figured anyone might be more likely to try attack her when she seems to be alone, but still. Sakura, being as young as she is, and as trusting, doesn't necessarily think of it actually happening either.]
I will. Thank you.
