[ Ever since Souji got a random trumpet in the mail from Retrospec, he's been jamming out on it on a semi-regular basis. He already knows how to play a little bit of the trumpet so it was easy enough to pick it up, but surprisingly, when he actually tried, it turned out that he knew... a lot more than he originally thought? Chalk it up to some weird 'wake up with some mysterious power thanks retrospec' thing again, he supposes, but hey, he's not complaining. You know why? ]

[ Because he can play Never Gonna Give You Up on the trumpet. ]

[ It's 11am and this kid is jamming out this song for any poor soul to hear. It's terrible. Quick, steal his trumpet right now before it continues. ]

[Kurt's been walking through the park and looking over his bingo sheet on his iphone while trying to plan which ones to try next. But he can't focus over the sound of that live music. Wait... that music sounds familiar...

As it clicks, Kurt's eyes widen in betrayal. He soon spots the offending trumpeter and approaches him.]

Really?! Why, I have to ask you... why?!

[Why is he unleashing this upon the unsuspecting world]

[ Souji looks at Kurt with a smile in his eyes and doesn't stop to reply until he finished the song (luckily, he was near the end of it so Kurt doesn't have to wait for long). Then he just smirks. ]

Well, why not?

[ Back to playing the song again. ]

Y-you know why not! [He whines as the guy just keeps on playing again.]

This shouldn't be allowed. It should be a crime! And if you had to do this, why not try anything other than a trumpet?!

[ Sorry, Kurt, you're going to have to wait until Souji finishes playing before he answers again. At least he plays the short version like in that Youtube link but it's still pain and agony to listen to. ]

Because Retrospec sent me a trumpet and a trumpet is an instrument of the soul.

[ Jim made a mistake giving this to Souji. ]

[Kurt just... stares, incredulously as he goes through the song again. And once Souji speaks, Kurt's resolve is steeled. There was one square on his bingo that he didn't think that he'd actually try to do. But now, it seems like the absolute right thing.

Quickly, Kurt points over Souji's shoulder.]

Hey, look behind you! It's... a cat! [This does look like the guy who was unleashing cat puns upon Retrospec once...]

[ Souji normally is smarter than this. He gets good grades. He led a team back in the OU. Why is this happening? He doesn't stop playing but he does actually turn his head slightly and definitely looks in that direction. Huh, where's the cat?? ]

[It's okay, Souji. Even the smartest of people can fall for the oldest of tricks.

With Souji adequately distracted, Kurt reaches right for the trumpet.]

Yoink!!

[He tries to grab it and run away!]

[ Wh-- thief!! This is why mutants have a bad rep, Kurt!!! ]

Hey! Come back here!

[ RUNNING AFTER LIKE ??? ]

[No it's why your face has a bad rep Souji.

The bingo card does say that he has to give it back... eventually... but the only proper retaliation for that attack on his ears is to lead him on a merry chase.]

Me go back there? Why don't you come over here? If you can!

[ If Souji had his trumpet right now, he would be playing the Benny Hill theme but alas, Kurt has his trumpet so he can't even play anything. This is the worst. ]

Why are you doing this?

[ Souji shouts, his heart breaking into a million pieces as he continues to chase after Kurt while everyone stares at them. ]

Man, where have I heard a question like that before?! [He teases as he continues running onwards. He leaps over a bush, ducks under some tree branches as he makes his way even further onwards.]

[ Souji is sadly not as athletic here as he was back in the OU so he can't just tackle Kurt right now (and he wouldn't want to since Kurt still has his precious trumpet). At least he's still pretty graceful so he can follow along just fine. In fact, he's going to try and see if he can cut Kurt off somehow because he can't just keep this chase forever. ]

Is it too late to say sorry?!

[ ... yeah, he might just quote lyrics as he does this ]

[And so the graceful young men prance about like majestic yet confused deer.

As Kurt is cut off by his opponent, he frantically staggers backwards for a few feet and tries to hold the trumpet out of his reach.]

A little! I'll give it back with only under one condition.

You have to promise that you will give me up! That you will let me down! And that you'll run around and desert me!

[ In a week from now, these two will find a video of themselves running around on Youtube ]

I can't do that because you know the rules and so do I! A full commitment's what I'm thinking of. You wouldn't get this from any other guy.

[Yes it will trend.]

Don't do this to me! [Kurt looks at him with wide eyes, clutching the trumpet defensively.]

Or... or I'll blow on it! I'll do it! [Clearly this trumpet will be defiled forever by Kurt's lip germs?!]

[ And that causes Souji to freeze like a deer in headlights. ]

You wouldn't...

Or would I?

[He holds the trumpet mere inches from his lips.]

Does this look like a game to you?!

[ There's a second or two as Souji tries to weigh out the pros and cons, wondering if he can just tackle Kurt and wrestle the trumpet out of his hands. However, the risk is too high. That monster might be able to blow the horn as soon as Souji twitches even a muscle, so he... concedes. ]

... Fine. I promise.

[ He can't bring himself to say what he promises to, though ]

[Kurt stares him down tensely... and then he smiles brightly.]

Awww yeah, then we got a deal, dude!

[And so Kurt hands it back over!]

[ Souji takes back the trumpet, with the biggest :C face that a man could make. ]

That was a cruel decision to make and you know it.

[That's sad, on several levels. Kurt gives a serious look.]

Hey man, you're the one who brought us to Cruelsville to begin with. [He motions towards the trumpet, the instrument of Souji's original sin.] All I did was move in!

[ Kurt just can't appreciate good music when he hears it. ]

No, I brought us into a land of joy and peace, where everyone can never be given up, let down, deserted, or get told a lie and hurt.

[ ... maybe Souji's undying love for this song can't be taken away by just a trumpet ]

[He responds with an agitated groan.]

Give it up!!

Why do you deny your love for this song?
