Celebrate Good Times
WHO: Fynn Izunia, Team Brandywine, Colleagues & Close CR
WHERE: The Outdoor Patio, Ardyn’s House
WHEN: 8/26 (Afternoon)
WHAT: Fynn makes good to throw a little cookout for his colleagues to celebrate their alleged victory. Of course, he sought Ardyn’s permission first before slapping this shindig together. There's not much in the form of decorations but there's plenty of food, drinks and ice cream to go around.
WARNINGS: Copious amounts of alcohol? Other than that, nothing really.
[The telltale aroma of meat frying on the grill is enough to entice anyone to visit the party out back. It's not so much of a party as it is a small gathering of friends and coworkers alike. It's rather low key event much to everyone's surprise since Fynn isn't someone you would describe as low key. The man's a loud and abrasive asshole even on a sunny day but be damned if he can't cook. Even with his right arm still sore from stitches and bandaged from the shoulder down, Fynn managed to get most of the food prepared for this afternoon. He's been working since morning to get everything set
Up but not without Ardyn's help here and there. Fynn might know how to grill but his take on potato salad is an acquired taste most wouldn't appreciate.]
Okay! The hamburgers are done![He yells over towards the others. Fynn Really shouldn't be drinking while grilling but he has a beer in one hand, and the cooking tongs in the other.] Better get them before the cat does!
[He's referencing the mischevious black feline that's literally stalking both him and the grill. Erebus, Ardyn's cat, is on the prowl. Either make peace with the fact the cat will beg you to oblivion for the food or offer it some. Either way welcome to the party and please don't spike the fruit punch Fynn made. There's plenty of sake, beers and wines to go around. The fruit punch and soda is meant for the younger guests who aren't quite twenty-one yet.
Don't even think about grabbing a beer, kids. Fynn has eyes on the back of his head and a sixth sense for that nonsense.]
(ooc: feel free to mingle amongst yourselves! I'll be popping in and out between threads. Characters are allowed to bring their own food & snacks too.

Tatsuo sips the alcohol slowly, pacing himself so he doesn't hit his limit in front of several of people he likes and respects. Not to mention works with.
"I noticed you manning the grill earlier. Did you do all the cooking for this shindig?"
no subject
"Do you like it? I know sometimes I can go heavy on the spice." He really hopes he didn't make the food too spicy. His potato salad probably has too much cayenne pepper in it. Then again, his take on the classic recipe is a tad unorthodox at best.
no subject
"Wow, you put way more effort in than I would have. It'd have been pizzas and chips with me."
Tatsuo is extremely impressed, to say the least.
"It was all good! Though... the potato salad was... interesting? I mean, the flavor was good, but it kind of distracted you from any other flavor the dish otherwise had?"
no subject
"See, I like pizza as much as the next guy but most American pizzas are too oily for me." He mentions while reaching for some bottled water. Fynn had a few beers already, so it's time to hydrate before he starts feeling drunk as a skunk. "What you didn't like the cayenne pepper?" Fynn questions while looking a tad offended.
"Well, I guess it was just a little spicy. I added too much relish and pepper to it."
no subject
"I wouldn't say it was too spicy," Tatsuo says. "Cayenne pepper is kind of medium on the Scoville scale? It added a good flavor to the salad, but yeah there was just a little too much. It's still better than plain boring potato salad though. Kind wakes up your mouth."
no subject
"What about everything else? You seem like you like the burgers and hot dogs." Fynn is definitely asking for feedback. He's always curious about what people think about his cooking. He's obsessed with this quirky hobby.
"I also have some avocado deviled eggs on a platter, coleslaw too!"
no subject
"Oh, the burgers and hot dogs are great!" Tatsuo's already polished off two each. "I'll have to try to coleslaw though. I'm sort of hit-n-miss with coleslaw. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. It all depends on the recipe."
no subject
"So, tell me about yourself!" Fynn asks suddenly as he leans against a nearby table. He's careful not to put too weight against it but Ardyn's patio furniture is pretty sturdy.
"I never see you around the station much. Aren't you a rookie cop?" Fynn says this as if he's not a "rookie" himself.
no subject
Tatsuo gives Fynn a slightly dubious look. But he'll give it a try. He doesn't hate raisins, he's just not sure how they'll work in coleslaw.
But then Fynn asks if he's a cop and Tatsuo lets out a small laugh.
"Me? A cop? Nooooooo. I'm CSI, which is why you don't see me around the station, as I'm down in the lab most of the time."
Tatsuo pours himself a bit more sake.
"Now, Other-Me? The guy I'm getting memories of? He's a cop."
Which is why Tatsuo now knows how to shoot really, really well.
