Celebrate Good Times

WHEN: 8/26 (Afternoon)
WHAT: Fynn makes good to throw a little cookout for his colleagues to celebrate their alleged victory. Of course, he sought Ardyn’s permission first before slapping this shindig together. There's not much in the form of decorations but there's plenty of food, drinks and ice cream to go around.
WARNINGS: Copious amounts of alcohol? Other than that, nothing really.



[The telltale aroma of meat frying on the grill is enough to entice anyone to visit the party out back. It's not so much of a party as it is a small gathering of friends and coworkers alike. It's rather low key event much to everyone's surprise since Fynn isn't someone you would describe as low key. The man's a loud and abrasive asshole even on a sunny day but be damned if he can't cook. Even with his right arm still sore from stitches and bandaged from the shoulder down, Fynn managed to get most of the food prepared for this afternoon. He's been working since morning to get everything set
Up but not without Ardyn's help here and there. Fynn might know how to grill but his take on potato salad is an acquired taste most wouldn't appreciate.]

Okay! The hamburgers are done![He yells over towards the others. Fynn Really shouldn't be drinking while grilling but he has a beer in one hand, and the cooking tongs in the other.] Better get them before the cat does!

[He's referencing the mischevious black feline that's literally stalking both him and the grill. Erebus, Ardyn's cat, is on the prowl. Either make peace with the fact the cat will beg you to oblivion for the food or offer it some. Either way welcome to the party and please don't spike the fruit punch Fynn made. There's plenty of sake, beers and wines to go around. The fruit punch and soda is meant for the younger guests who aren't quite twenty-one yet.

Don't even think about grabbing a beer, kids. Fynn has eyes on the back of his head and a sixth sense for that nonsense.]

[ she's actually quite wealthy... though it's old money, stuff made by her ancestors and invested well enough it'll never really fade but also not necessarily gaining more.

She laughs all the same, sitting near him and taking a sip of her wine ]

I suppose things have have been good for you, then?

Hm? I didn't think you were. I just thought having help would be nice because coming out of this can be tough!

[He takes good care of his friends and all that.]

Yep! I've been cuddling with Kenti and my boyfriend, Kenta. And Kenta has been making sure I rest lots to take care of my injuries.

[matchbreaker]

[ . . . Gosh, he really is a kind soul, isn't he?

She laughs a little, shaking her head. ]

You did rack up a few, didn't you? Do you have a prognosis yet?

[sakeplz]

Well the bruises and cuts will heal no problem. No scars. The acid burn is going to take a couple more weeks before they'll even consider looking at treatments to reduce discoloration and stuff. That one got me really good.

[Yeah...that nice burn to his back and side has really sucked but he's been managing okay.]

I'm not sure if that's lucky or unlucky. It's definitely lucky compared to what we actually encountered, but I happened to luck out a bit better.

[ She opens her hand, looking down at a faint scar that's now running the length of it through the middle where she caught a Splicer's blade. ]

... Basically all of my injuries healed already, because my healing sped up when that little bat which was following me around bit me. I guess he took a little bit of energy from the monsters and gave them back to me.

Wow. Your injuries can heal faster than normal?

[He blinks in surprise because that's...seriously amazing! Really impressive too!]

[matchbreaker]

Not anymore. [ She shrugs ] Or at least, I don't think so - I'm still super strong, but the thing which was letting me heal faster was that little bat which was following me along. It gave me and my body extra energy.

[ But the bat's vanished by now. ]

[sakeplz]

Oh. So it just had to do with the bat? Awwww and it was really cute too!

[He misses bat friend already. Even if he never really got much of a chance to interact with bat friend.]

Yeah, he sort of was.

[ Sigh. ] Yep though, pretty sure it was just the bat! Maybe I'm more durable though, I dunno. I didn't break anything when that big rat fell on me.

[sakeplz]

...Ew.

[Yep. That's about all he has to say to that.]

Look we had to deal with it somehow.

[ . . . But yes, a little ew, bravado aside. ]

But it was a rat. And it fell on you.

I know.

[ And it was attacking Fynn and Aizawa and her so... she had to do her best, okay. ]

I'm almost glad I faced an acid demon instead.

[Almost. The burn treatment has sucked big time.]

That was the second big thing, right? That time, I was doing Simon Says with the kid and getting pulled off my skeletons.

[ A beat, and after a short laugh at that- ]

... Are you recovering okay from that, though?

[sakeplz]

Kenta's been taking good care of me. My boyfriend is the best.

[matchbreaker]

He's that huge handsome one you showed up with, right?

[ Seems like a fair guess ]

[sakeplz]

Isn't he? He's so huge and handsome! Kenta is beautiful!

[Please stop him now.]

He is, at that! I didn't expect to see someone that much taller than you around here and then, bam, here he is.

[ Nah, she's okay with this. ]

He's always been bigger than me. So he was the perfect cuddle size even before we started dating.

[matchbreaker]

Oh, have you two been at it for a while now?

[sakeplz]

You mean dating? Oh no not at all. That's only been going on a couple weeks.

[matchbreaker]

You known him a lot longer than that?

[sakeplz]

Since I was seven.

[matchbreaker]

[ she blinks with some surprise, and her expression briefly complicates, a short lived wave of jealousy coming over her before... she just releases it. She laughs, nodding, a smile still on her face. She pushes up her sunglasses, for once grateful they cloud her eyes ]

Well, golly, then you've got a real history with the man!
