THE CONVENTION:
You would have at least heard of it, or have been vaguely aware of the Convention happening this weekend - it's been plastered just about, well, almost everywhere, actually, advertised aggressively. Or maybe you've had friends who have spoken excitedly about the Convention, piquing your curiosity. That said, that doesn't change the fact that by the time you enter the Recolle Convention Centre, whether out of sheer curiosity or whether you actually want to be here...

... what the heck, there are so many people.

For a four day convention, there's tons to see and do and lots of people to meet, whether expected or unexpected. Why not jump right into the thick of things, or see if there's anything in particular that you would like to do, first?

ADMISSIONS + TICKETING:
The first thing that you will notice is that even before you get inside the convention centre is that there's a line of booths and automated ticketing kiosks lined up near the entrance where people are congregating. While you can enter the convention centre for free and without joining the lines, staff members will actually be on hand to direct people to join up one of the lines, as the convention runs on a credits system, where each convention attendee will have to purchase a prepaid card with credits loaded onto it. Tickets and the like will also be stored on the card when they are purchased. Each booth at the Artists' Alley and the Food Market has a card reader - please pay for your purchases via the prepaid card! The staff members on duty will also explain to you that they strongly discourage cash for security reasons. No one wants to deal with having to keep track of missing money, right?

If you ordered your cards online for pick up at the venue, you'll find that the line is moving quite a bit faster than the usual lines, which is lucky? If you're currently stuck in the general admissions line, then uh, oops. We sincerely apologise for the delay caused and hope that nothing unpleasant is happening. Please be patient! We promise it'll be worth it.

If you've lost your card (or if it's been stolen, oops), don't worry about it! Thankfully, Caelum Security has installed some security measures on the card to prevent just anyone from using your card. You might, however, want to check the lost and found/information counter before you resign yourself to rejoining the line.

ATTRACTIONS:
There's lots to do and plenty to see, and there's no shortage of events and the like happening over the course of the four day weekend. Surely you'll find something to your tastes happening eventually.
► IDOL CONCERT: Anastasia "Anya" Vasilieva's debut stage is scheduled for the opening idol concert that is happening on 27th July at 7pm! She will be performing together with a few other acts in an approximately two hour long opening concert. Hope you managed to get tickets for that on time! If not, well. Good luck?
► ARTISTS' ALLEY: Artists' Alley is for independent artists, creators, writers or publishers to table and showcase their work and to sell merchandise. Saw a keychain you really liked? And that badge pin set is really cute? Did your favourite illustrator just release a new artbook for sale at the convention? Good luck friends! Please mourn your wallets and the amount of money you are likely to be sinking into these merchandise. Boothers and illustrators are... probably not going to be exempt from this phenomenon either, considering that the general consensus is that "well, yeah, I'm tabling so that I can sell my stuff to earn money to buy other people's stuff!!" Not that it's a bad thing.
► GAMING TOURNAMENTS: Do you like video games? Or arcade games? Or just, games in general? Come and play in mini tournaments for the canon rip-offs of DOTA2, Overwatch, Starcraft, Guilty Gear and Street Fighter. Ever wanted to say that you've defeated Guda Mask, the long reigning gaming champion of Recolle? Well, now's your chance to try, with no guarantee of success ever! Qualification rounds will run throughout the convention, with finals scheduled to take place on the last day of the convention.
► EXHIBITOR'S SHOWCASE: If you think you’ve got the creative chops and want to break into the industry, exhibitors and sponsors at the convention will be holding manuscript and portfolio reviews at the show, so bring your work along for some creative critique and potential opportunities! There's also no stopping you going around to see what the new games are likely to hit the markets after the convention and to hit a couple of demo playthroughs!
► AUTOGRAPH SESSIONS, FANSIGNS AND FANMEETS: Want a selfie and an autographed poster with your favourite actor/actress/idol etc? Now's your chance! Sure, you're going to have to fork out some money to make it happen, but hey, better grab that chance while it's still hot, or regret it forever.
► COSPLAY: Come show off all the effort you put into making those fly as hell costumes - who knows, maybe you'll collect some more new fans along the way! And maybe win some prizes too, since the local cosplay community is holding a contest on the 29th!
► FOOD MARKET: Food trucks, stands and carts will be available, providing a variety of foods, enough to eat yourself into a food coma, I guess. Come along and eat to your heart's content! Some of them may be gimmicky fandom foods, who knows.

SMILE, YOU'RE ON CAMERA:
Cameras are going to be flashing, or maybe someone from the press team is going to come up to you to ask you for a quote or to indulge them in a short interview about how you find the convention and what it has to offer? Or, on the other hand, there is also a giant digital photo wall where convention footage will be playing over the course of the weekend - the photos being rotated on the display include professionally taken shots by the press team, as well as awkward selfies and hashtagged Instagram photos tagged #Reconvention!

So, did you just see yourself on the screen? Or maybe you're That Friend who likes to take embarrassing photographs of other people and broadcast them onto the photo wall.

Either way, we suggest smiling for the camera! Wouldn't want to become an online meme, right?

RETROSPEC CRASHING THE PARTY:
Retrospec is incredibly hard to miss during this convention. Their booth is inside an inflatable domed tent, blue in color. Inside there will be a television streaming Jim's proposal video at the top of the hour, but otherwise it's streaming footage of the convention. Your character may see themselves on-screen! There is also footage of stuff in the city.

On a table, there is a QR scanner and a note encouraging those who played Jim's game to scan their codes that they received. Scanning the codes will cause a character's phone to vibrate and power off. Powering it back on, they will notice there is a new icon on their home screen shaped like the QR code. If your character tries to delete it, it just comes back. Sounds like a certain app we all know and love, right? There is also a countdown on display at the booth. For anyone who counts out the time they may notice that it will reach zero sometime on Sunday, but who knows when?

There is also a basket of blowpops (lollipops with bubble gum inside), Retrospec pens and pads of paper, and stickers of their symbol.

A: Artist's Alley: He was Right Here...

Koutarou had been behind him a second ago. Togusa swears it. The two of them had talked each other into going to this thing in the first place. For Togusa, it was the promise of candy and cookies from home. But, before they could make it to the land of Matcha-Flavored Heaven, Koutarou went missing.

Togusa knows his friend well, if there's anything that would distract him, it is right here on this part of the hall. But, if only Togusa can stay on task long enough, and not get distracted, either, in the middle of his search for his friend. There is an awful lot to see.

B: Gaming Tournaments: Why Don't You Just Get Up And Dance?

Togusa wasn't sure that this was still a thing, but sure enough, there in the game room, there is one machine of Push It Up, the five-button Korean version of that dancing video game with the arrows. He doesn't yet have the courage to go up there, himself. Instead, he is standing back, absolutely mystified by a very skinny kid in a Hawaiian shirt and shorts destroying one of the high scores. The kid's feet are nearly a blur, and Togusa is pretty sure he wouldn't be able to hit so many of those jumps if he wasn't six feet tall.

"Incredible..."

But if he keeps standing there, people might think he's in line.

C: Retrospec tent: Because Of Course We Can't Have Nice Things

And here Togusa had thought the game results were just going to be automatic. It had been impossible to miss the tent, and Togusa had resigned himself to going over to check it out, even though he's supposed to be off the clock this weekend.

There you go, Jim, have your data for your analysis. Not like I'd be able to keep it from you anyway. The result is unexpected, and Togusa has to stand there, scowling at his phone for a minute.

[Well, he didn't expect for Augustine to see Togusa in the ReConvention. Then again, he wasn't expecting to encounter him while wearing his costume. But cosplay aside, he can see what makes the police detective so interested at the dancing game tournament.]

Shuji's dressed up as Syaorin - thanks Yato for the excellent work, absolutely worth every penny - and while he can sometimes be seen with Minako in her matching outfit even before their entry in the cosplay contest, most of the time he's on his own checking out the artist alley, vendors, panels, etc.

He's getting stopped for a lot of photos. Like. A lot. Which, okay, he's from a popular anime and his costume looks good and his wig turned out pretty close, so that's not surprising? But people are so excited about it, and they keep hugging him. Usually asking permission first! They're polite!

After like the fifth cute girl today has hugged him, and once she's out of earshot:]

...I think I need to sit down. Or maybe lie down.

[Sometime during the first afternoon, Shuji snagged an unused table in the gaming center after getting permission from the con staff. What's it used for?

Shuji isn't at the table all the time, obviously, he wants to enjoy the con! But he's here fairly frequently, being the kind of person who needs plenty of breaks from a packed convention.]

[Fai is in the vicinity after Shuji's latest round of being mugged by cute girls. Thankfully he's managed to avoid most of the cameras himself up until now, but being in a place this public and crowded after the week he's had... it's tiring.

He doesn't recognize Shuji right away, even though they've chatted on Retrospec before, mostly because Shuji is in costume. But he can definitely sympathize.]

[ dave mostly came to the convention because he'd said he would ages ago and sees no reason to boycott it now; besides, anya's concert debut is a thing that is a thing, so he'll show up for that. he doesn't seem to be interested in any of the convention food for all that he haunts the place off and on for the course of the few days, though.

mostly, he takes pictures. it's with an old digital camera he's had for years, and he checks every shot after he does them, and it's not always of people. just angles he likes. slants of light. the absence of blue and green.

if he knows you, sure, it might be of people with little to no warning. but basically he can be found traipsing around with his camera, old and kinda "buy a new one, maybe?" level but with an easy competence he doesn't think of, either taking pictures or leaning against things and flicking through shots to decide what to keep and what to delete. ]

[ dave scans the stupid qr codes because of course he does, and he notes the countdown because of course he does. who knows when?

dave strider, that's who. he stares at his phone and weighs his options and he walks around a corner and vanishes. there's no point in trying to track him down.

sooner or later he'll surface again, sitting at a table or leaning against a wall and dicking around on his phone looking as neutral as ever, though. so it's not a permanent disappearance.

[ No wonder Dave is making that face, playing what Mafuyu really hopes isn't candy crush. Speaking of candy, Mafuyu has three of those blowpops in her mouth because that's about the only useful thing she can get at the Retrospec booth, but she takes them all out to pin Dave down with a stare. ]

[ I : IT'S HAPPENING!!!! ]

[Talk about a debut. Two and a half months of preparation have gotten into this - which leads to quite a bit of hubbub surrounding Anya. She's impossible to find leading up to the actual concert, stuck in soundcheck and last minute rehearsals. Still - are you hoping to reach her? a ) Send a text and see if she has a quick minute to respond before the show actually starts!

The actual idol show is exciting. It sends her heart pounding and the space is full of cheering fans - not just for her, but for the other idols as well. Still, if you're here to show your support for Anya please feel free to have a look at her merchandise...?! Her team is too much. There's jackets, hats, shirts, fans, all sorts of embarrassing things with her face on it. Not to mention light sticks and wristbands. Get your idol on, my guy. Anya performs a set of songs (including one rather familiar), greets the stage in her mixture of Russian and Japanese, and there's a moment toward the end of her segment where she looks out into the sparkling sea of lights and looks so happy she might cry.]

This is... мечта! A dream come true...! Did everyone have fun? [The answering cheer from the crowd gives her pause, makes her giggle even as she clasps her hands in front of her chest.] Ah - I am so happy... Большое спасибо! Thank you, everyone, for making Anya's dream real. I will do my best to bring your happiness too!

[ b ) For those who look to catch her after the concert itself, she's in a bit of a daze. Once she changes out of her costume, she puts on a simple jacket, lifting the hood over her silver hair and wandering back out. Are you waiting for her out there? Are you a straggler? Did you leave something behind and go back to grab it?

She doesn't make much of an attempt to hide, wandering out to the empty stage as everything gets cleaned up, waving politely to the crew as they take set pieces down - and she hums softly to herself. It seems like she's lost in thought until she spots you and smiles, openly and sweetly.]

[ II : WHO TAUGHT HER THAT ]

[Anya's a rather popular face at the con. Still, she's an open-hearted girl who definitely isn't used to stardom. She stops to do extra pictures and signings on the way to different appointments, even if it's not scheduled. If you catch her eye, she immediately smiles as if she expects you to want something - and most people do. Here's your chance for an autograph or a picture for... free?!

Still, there's always at least one fan that can't take a hint. Idol fans can get pretty creepy. Hence why this one guy apparently keeps following after Anya's little entourage. This NPC creeper reaches out, as if he plans on touching without permission, yelling some outlandish declaration of love—

Do you save the day and stop him? Or do you get beaten to it and bear witness to Recollé's local sparkly idol girl tensing up at someone grabbing her wrist too harshly, twisting the man's arm uncomfortably behind him in what's definitely, definitely a reflexive action and then looking surprised at herself before letting him go?]

[ III : DO YOU FEEL THE KIRA KIRA ]

[When she's actually scheduled to work somewhere, Anya's chipper. Whether you're there to get an autograph (even if it's for a friend) or to take a picture, she automatically reaches out to take your hand as if you've been friends forever and looks right into your eyes:]

[So guess who's been in the tabloids lately, in connection with the organizer of the convention? Yep, that's right. It took some coaxing from friends for Fai to even show up, partly because he's afraid he'll be bad publicity for Seto and partly because... well, he's just afraid.

But he's here, trying to be supportive for Seto's sake. Except there are cameras everywhere. So Fai will be hanging out with any friends or acquaintances who'll have him, in the hopes of ducking the cameras and the media in general. Feel free to just assume he's hanging out with your character, being kind of clingy and skittish. And eventually he'll get caught by a photographer, because it's a crowded place and he can't avoid them forever. Anyone feel like running defense?]


[Cosplay Time!]

[Fai isn't actually trying to compete for anything, but the prospect of dressing up like his character from Last Fantasy was too fun to pass up. So even though he's had a horrible week he's going through with it--light purple wig, cat ears, tail, and face makeup.

Yep, he's a catboy. It's almost like canon isn't it.]


[The Transcend:Game booth]

[Kaiba's company is letting people try the new game! Isn't that exciting! Every once in a while Fai can be found hanging around the booth, though he's doing his best not to be too visible (again, for publicity's sake). But if you're playing the new game, and especially if he already knows you even in passing, a purple-haired catboy might approach you while you're trying the game out. He won't be as loud or boisterous about it as usual, but he'll probably even manage a smile for you.]

[ or maybe you'll catch her later in the day with a handful of prints and posters in her hand. yes. there is a lot. so many that at one point, ann drops all of them and it's just. a small, messy pile of paper on the floor. upon inspection you'll notice that many of these are superhero-based shows; who would've thought ann takamaki was a fan of this kind of stuff? ]

The Man Behind the Legend

[Does someone care to explain just how he gotten roped up into this again? Oh, right. It has something to do with a smooth talker by the name of Kaiba, Seto Kaiba.

While Adamska isn't against mingling with his fans and all, he usually doesn't do cons. This, in fact, is the Oscar winner's first convention ever. So, imagine his face once he walked in early this morning to see you slew of cosplayers and other geeky looking hombres running amuck. Adamska could've sworn this was a freak show judging from all the unsavory looking "characters" wandering about. This is a little bit more than poor Adamska bargained for but he's a man of his word---at least for now.

Much like one would suspect, Adamska arrives at the convention dressed in his Sunday's best that includes a handsome gray flannel suit with his signature red tie that matches both his gloves and the ribbon that ties his long white hair back in a neat ponytail. Adamska's fondness for well-tailored suits makes the old actor standout like a sore thumb among this crowd of geeky misfits. Nevertheless, he doesn't seem to mind rubbing elbows with his esteemed fans and letting them take pictures with him. He even does a few autographs for "free" here and there on certain props and toys his fans present him. Adamska is a natural when it comes down to wooing the crowd despite how secretly offput he is by fans cosplaying as him from his previous works.

Good golly! Talk about awkward as hell! Some of these cosplayers do one heck of a good job while others shouldn't have dared come out their homes today. Adamska is at a loss for words. Hell, one of these cosplayers actually look like him well enough to be his nonexistent twin brother.

So, yes. Old actor is having fun and for the first time in awhile, it doesn't require any alcohol. Isn't that just spiffy? Let's make a bet here and now that this isn't going to last long.]

One more picture? [He masks the disbelief in his tone with a friendly smile once he gets assaulted by another group of stalwart Mayfly fans. That TV has a hilariously big cult following that borderlines on batshit crazy.]

Certainly! I wouldn't mind at all--Oh, look at you! You're dressed like good ol' Janus Cobb, aren't you? Gods, I actually miss that role.

Adamska let's out a quiet sigh once he finds himself facing what had to be a dozen or so cameras and countless eager reporters. Everyone in Recolle been talking about his upcoming film Guns of the Patriots, everyone but Adam. As co-producer and lead actor of this highly anticipated film, Adamska been quite tight-lipped about anything regarding it. He has made it a point not to give out much details about the production and been rather strict with his castmates about sharing too much on social media. They've successfully blocked the media from learning any information about this movie, that is until now.

There's no way he'll escape these sharks alive with his limbs still attached unless he tells them something. So, Adamska bites the bullet and greets his harassers with the most pleasant smile.]

As you may know---[He begins in his usual southern twang. No one believes he's really Russian, no one.] The last film, Sons of Liberty ended on a very somber note after our main protagonist finds himself framed by the very government he sworn allegiance to...


RETROSPEC CRASHING THE PARTY

[As soon as he catches himself on one of Retrospec's large monitors, Adamska takes out his surprisingly realistic fake revolver and aims it at the screen. With a smirk he mouths the word "Bang" and gleefully thinks how sweet it would be to shoot Jim, Janet and whomever the hell else right between the eyes. He hates these damn folks, utterly hates them.]

The Man Behind the Legend

[Adamska is a great actor but Kaz does not fall for that one. Not when it's one of those things that's obviously being muttered between gritted teeth with the ever-present anguish every sci-fi actor feels when he's been condemned to a role by his fandom. Not everyone can be like that one starship captain with the haughty British accent and then move on to do a myriad of other roles. Most end up narrating BBC and Nat Geo specials.]

[Has that ever happened to Adamska? He'll have to ask. But at least they're still churning out the movies with him. And, speaking of which, Kaz needs to seal the deal on that business venture before he loses the chance.]

[A. Walking around Artists' Alley]

[When Kuramochi gets everything settled the first place he starts is artists' alley. He figured he would grab a few things of his favorite game characters. Maybe he'll get a keychain to keep in his room or something. Oh, he could use a few posters! Kuramochi walks around to see what catches his eye when he stops at two posters. He should probably go look around some more, but it's of his favorite character from the fighting game he plays. He did save up for this it's fine. Now if he could only choose which one to buy...

Anyone is free to help him make a decision or drag him to a booth.]

[B. Games, games, and games]

[Kuramochi makes a quick trip to the gaming room before he gets lost in merchandise again. He doesn't know who this legendary player is, he's only there to check out some matches for a little while. Kuramochi watches one for awhile when the person loses then leaves the seat empty. He goes to move to another one when the person of the previous game offers the seat to him. Well, why not? It wouldn't hurt to play for a little while even if he's unaware of the small group watching him.

If anyone wants to play a match with him or play any other game with him he's ready for it.]

[C. Exhibitor Showcase]

[Once he finally got out of the game room, he remembers that he won that give away. He has a voucher to buy one game from the exhibitor showcase. He didn't think he would be picked since he wasn't really serious when he threw his name in. Well, he better not waste this voucher. Kuramochi goes over to the exhibitor showcase to see more games around than he first thought.

[Kurt's been a guest at a few cons while he was out of town acting in Heckbusters, but this is his first time actually coming to Reconvention as a guest. It's kind of a cool feeling, and he wants to do his best for his fans.

And so when he doesn't have anywhere to be, he'll hang around the admissions line to say hi to people to boost their morale as they forge their ways through the lines! As he does so, he wears a hastily made t-shirt saying "ANYA'S THE BEST" to advertise his friend's concert performance and also offers from free ice cold water bottles.]

Hang in there! You're gonna have the gnarliest blast. Fuzzy's promise!

B. Up His Alley

[One other thing Kurt does on his time off? He checks out artist's alley to see what cool things there might be for sale! He looks around eagerly, like a kid in a toy store.]

Ohhh man, I don't know where to begin!

C. Game On!

[And he also spends some time in the game room, looking over the video games that people are competing in. He'll call someone over for a match, while grinning confidently.]

Hey, think you've got what it takes to beat the master? Pick a game, pick any game at all!

D. I Saw the Signing

[And then there's the actual reason Kurt's here. Now wearing a Heckbusters t-shirt, he sits behind a table and signs autographs. Armed with an energy drink, Kurt keeps on going and going in contending with his fans.]

[Maybe it's your character's turn for an autograph! ...Or maybe the fan in front of your character is taking too much time talking Kurt's ear off about some fan theory or ship. Save Him.]

E. Play it by Ears

[Kurt's hair has been growing bushier, enough that it's been hiding the tips of his ears. There's a reason for that - and it becomes clear when he trips and falls over while on his way out of an autographing session. His hair goes up enough to reveal... that here's some very realistic-looking pointed ears on him!

A crowd surrounds him, confused and speculating. Is this part of a cosplay? Or is it viral marketing - could he have been cast as an elf character in that one upcoming fantasy movie reboot??

Kurt sheepishly pulls his hair back down over his ears as he gets up and sheepishly tries to clear the crowd surrounding him.]

N-nothing to see here, folks! Let's... keep on moving!

[Amelia definitely wasn't following Kurt. All the time. Mostly when he was going from event to event and she didn't need to be in attendance. Most of the attention was on her son, which Amelia was immensely proud about.

It was just...coincidence, that no sooner than Kurt started to stammer a distressed excuse that she appeared, making full use of her imposing height and occasional elbow to shove through the crowd towards him. A very few recognized who she was, most just muttered sharp complaints at being jostled so. Amelia ignored them all, pushing through until she was by her son's side, putting a hand on his shoulder.]

Didn't you hear him? Move on.

I. Artist's Alley

[So here he is, in the biggest pop culture convention in Recolle. Well, he knows he's looking too forward to it. But since his teacher friend convinces him to go as he has two tickets and some of his friends are too busy to join him, he knew he wouldn't say no to his colleague.

Once they are inside, both of them agree to split up so they can see around the convention anywhere they like. For Augustine's first destination though, it will have to be the Artist's Alley. It's not because of the merchandise found in the stalls, but of the beautiful artworks and fan arts that were displayed there. In fact, he might either approach one of the stalls or encounter another one of the attendees also at those booths.]

II. A Dragon Cosplay?

[What Augustine doesn't know is that when he splits up with his friend and puts his ticket back in his pocket, he unknowingly drops his Poke Ball, which releases Modeste in the process. And when she sees that she finds herself in a crowded convention centre and no signs of her human friend, she grows very confused at her current location as he grabs Augustine's Poke Ball so it won't get lost.

And if you're lucky, you may see Modeste wandering around either the booths or the food stand, trying to find Augustine. Although with many cosplayers around, you may mistake her as a cosplayer, too.]

III. Exhibitor's Showcase

[He's not very keen on video games, yet he is surprised at how many upcoming games that were shown on the show floor. In fact, he's even trying out one of the demos of those said games. But despite being demos, you can see that Augustine is a complete newbie to them. Maybe you can help him out not to be an embarrassment?]

IV. Cosplay

[Good news: Augustine has a costume for his friend's sake to go cosplay. Bad news: He has no clue what kind of cosplay he is supposed to be as. What he doesn't know is that his cosplay is a mad scientist character of an evil team from a video game series called "Purse Monsters".

What's even more uncomfortable is that he's wearing this for the whole day of the convention. Well, at least he won't stick out for the rest of the convention.]

V. Retrospec Tent and Prizes

[While he's not like the type of attendees who are complete worrywarts at their future empty wallets, he does shrug off those worries with his newly won $20 credit from the giveaway. Maybe he'll try to buy some souvenirs as a memorabilia for his visit to the ReConvention?

However, his thoughts were interrupted by the sight of the Retrospec booth, which he can clearly see the proposal video and a live footage of himself. Typical Retrospec as always.

But what's more interesting is the QR scanner in the booth. He did obtain three codes from the bingo game, so he might be qualified for it. Of course, once he scanned the codes, he can see a new app has installed on his phone and with his past experience with the Retrospec app itself, he decides to keep it for the time being. Deleting it might do the same with the original app anyway.

However, he can see he's not the only one as he approaches someone and taps their shoulder to get their attention.]

He tenses up for a second when he sees her, and then looks around for Augustine. Nowhere in sight. Uh-oh. Augustine did say that she is usually okay, so long as he is around. Without him?

Maybe he should go keep an eye on her. Togusa approaches slowly, holding out his hands in plain sight. He pitches his voice softly. "Modeste? Hey, there." She seemed smart enough to recognize her name, in the memories he saw.

Sorey (+ special guest, Mikleo)

[I. cosplay]

[Sorey doesn't remember whose suggestion it was, but after dropping some money on a costume (and adding his own finishing touches), he can say that pair cosplay was the Right Thing to Do. Sorey and Mikleo are dressed up like characters from that one MMO, specifically the classes they enjoy playing the most. Sorey, of course, is some kind of paladin tank, and Mikleo is the white mage support/healer, recognizable by their costumes; the costumes are based off the armor people get when they hit max level. The fake ears and tail are kinda like they are in game; Sorey plays the dog race and no one is surprised, while Mikleo is forever a cat person.

Sorey is happy to drag Mikleo and/or their friends around as he gawks at things in the Artist Alley, pretend-fights with other cosplayers, and sometimes just takes stupid selfies with classic Last Fantasy villains at the taco truck. He can imitate all the /victorypose and /bstance emotes perfectly, though he can't make his shiba inu ears wiggle. Too bad.

One might also find him not attached to his pocket healer, in which case he's probably getting something signed.]

[Sorey is very suspicious of this setup, but there's not much he can do about it. He scans the QR code he received and gets... more questions than answers. So he hangs out for a while and tries to grab people's attention.]

[ Though cosplay isn't something Koutarou does (because it's too time consuming and he doesn't have that sort of time), he's dressed traditionally. And he tied up the sleeves of his yukata so they won't catch on any corners or anything else, so they're out of the way (and showing that he's got more muscles under there than one would expect) because it would only bother him and other people if they did. That's the closest he's getting to every cosplaying, most likely, though it's not like it's uncommon to see him in traditional clothes around town, either. ]


Artists' Alley
[ It's no surprise that Koutarou got distracted by the Artist Alley. He was supposed to find the food together with Togusa, but at some point they had been separated --- because of the Artist Alley and Koutarou's interest in it.

But it's just, there's so much nice, cute stuff and, and, and...! How could he not be distracted and stop at every single table? ]

[ Somehow, at some point, he managed to pull himself from the Artist Alley. (But let's face it, he was probably dragged away by some annoyed and/or concerned friend pr other person because who knew you could so distracted that you end up forgetting everything about food (again)?

There's so much stuff to choose from, though, it makes him indecisive, and probably looking a bit lost. ]

Anywhere, really
[ But he wouldn't be him if he didn't get distracted by his sketchbook, too. There's just so much to see and get inspiration from, and anywhere, once can find something to draw and since Koutarou is Koutarou, he ends up pulling a his sketchbook from his bag, and a pen, and sketch. Potentially in the way, but hopefully he is standing close enough to a wall to not be a bother. ]

[ EXHIBITOR'S SHOWCASE ]

ÉcarlateSoft's exhibition is going well, perhaps better than expected. No relying on subsidies unlike a certain rival company who will no longer be a thing at this rate. Decent customer care and less DRM gets more business. Imagine that.

The latest games ÉcarlateSoft has on offer, especially the major releases and soon to be released games, chief among them Empire of Blood III and Vampire's Creed: Origins, are definitely a hit. Émilie's natural charisma shined through, showing a genuine sense of humour through the presentation - she couldn't help but sending a few playful jabs her family's competition's way.

She'll most certainly be sticking around afterwards... and she's more than willing to talk, especially if you're a friend.

[While Fynn definitely prides himself as a "close nerd", this ReConvention stuff might be a bit too much for Ardyn who looks nonplussed right about now. A sigh leaves him as he gives his brother a look of prime annoyance. He knows this isn't some fancy gala or some pretentiously boring art exhibition at some world famous gallery but still, this is pretty neat. Fynn doesn't get the chance to hang out often, especially since his work schedule is very much anti-life and anti-fun. That's why he looks so excited to be here right now.]

Come on, man! This isn't so bad. Look at all the hot anime girls--[And guys. Fynn is admittedly more interested in some of the really attractive cosplayer dudes than the girls.]

► GAMING TOURNAMENTS

[The overgrown kid in Fynn definitely has him thinking of signing up for the gaming tournament. While there's no possible way in hell that he'll ever win, Fynn is confident enough he could give some of these chumps a run for their money. After all, he's insanely good in Street Warrior and Fatal Duel, two classic arcade fighters from Japan that he used to play all the time as a kid. Maybe that explains some of his abrasive nature.

Fynn did go through a small phase when he thought he could do karate and pester poor Ardyn with so called "karate moves". Unfortunately, his career in martial arts ended when he was eight after jumping down the stairs in attempt to beam Ardyn upside his head with a flying kick. He spent a few nights in the hospital for that one.]

Geez, Guda Mask is still the top player in town? [He mutters quietly as he reads the scoreboard aloud.] Man, I used to wish I could be that good.

[In search for the perfect souvenir, Fynn finds himself moderately disappointed by all the crappy "moe" merchandise all over the place. He's not into that kind of subculture, not at all. He does manage to find a few interesting artbooks from his favorite shonen mangas but each one seems to be a hefty price that Fynn cannot rationally justify while he's so close to getting his own place. While he hasn't told Ardyn the great news yet, Fynn did manage to score a nice apartment in Chata. He just needs to wait for the ink on the rental agreement to dry.]

Why in the hell are these books like forty-five dollars each?! [Oh boy, here we go.] THIS IS EXTORTION!

[Look, there is literally no downside to an event that involves getting to dress up however you like, stare at adorable merch and art, and eat yourself positively sick on candy. Even if the candy inside naturally is just a tad overpriced, and his mother probably would be mildly horrified at the prices, he is An Actual Adult and he can do what he likes. Which involves Soujirou being loaded down with at least three bags of candy after only an hour or so inside. Someone might want to control him before he reaches critical mass?

He's also most definitely dressed up a couple of different magical girls, flouncy skirts and ribbons and all. Through some secret hair magic courtesy of Kiyomitsu, his hair has gone from a half-turquoise (that is to say grey, under current color conditions) half naturally black, split-ended mess to something actually presentable. Are you dressed up too? Or do you have some really adorable merch? Because this actual child he's 21 is delighted.]

Wow, that's so cute! I really, really love it!

[Soujirou gracefully manages to avoid the actual press, not because he thinks they're actually overly interested in him, but simply because they make him uncomfortable. That, and considering a friend of his is currently having troubles with the press, he's also not feeling all that sympathetic and doesn't want to embarrass his family by being rude at them.

BUT on the other hand, he loves taking photos with people! He's got his phone out and ready, and let's be real, he's not always the best at the whole personal space thing? He really means no harm, but he gets... overly enthusiastic. Meaning that anyone, be it friend or complete stranger, might find him slinging an arm around their shoulders as he tries to adjust the camera for a nice selfie combo (pair-ie?).]

Day 1, setup

[ Mao knew he was going to be working with money and financial stuff for the convention, but this isn't quite what he had in mind. Unfortunately, before the cash (or credits in this case) can start to flow, the system for them has to be set up. The more technologically inclined are working on that side so Mao's just a set of hands attached to a strong back, and that means he's got a dolly with one of the automated refill machines on it. They only need to be put in place and plugged in, the rest of the magic of technology, so Mao just needs to get it there.

He's not exactly struggling with the weight of it, but there's a really good chance he's about to trip over that cord on the ground and that's going to be an expensive and painful disaster. Help him out? Let nature take its course? ]

Day 2, working man

[ When he indicated he was interested in working with the money, Mao really hoped it would mean crunching numbers in a quiet room somewhere, not handling the transactions at one of the manned card reload booths. Congoer-facing assignments are never going to be his favorite thing no matter what his memories have told him about his relationship with the public, but he's doing his best to smile and get people through quickly. Here's the guy himself, in his cheerful gray t-shirt waving you over. ]

Day 3, cosplay contest

[ Oh hell no he's not competing, but he's off for the part of the day the contest is happening and Mao's curious so he's gotten himself a seat and is watching the parade of... things. He thought he had a pretty solid grasp on pop culture but some of these costumes are just beyond him. Luckily for him so is the idea of treating this like a movie theatre; surely you're allowed to talk here. ]

Hey, sorry but do you know who that's supposed to be?

Rock Calm, one of the protagonists from Last Fantasy VII. He's the cloned twin brother of the main villain, Belphegor, but only Belphegor knows. At one point, Belphegor tries to lure Rock over to his side but when Rock refuses he sends the Netherstrike Boweldemon after him and the party. My brother died eight times in that boss fight.

[Cleo's friends are dirty, dirty enablers. What are they enabling? Cleo doesn't even know. She mentioned she had no plans to go to the con, and rather, had no idea what the con was even about. But, well. Enough of her friends were going that she intended to give it a shot. It helped, of course, that she'd been told her ears wouldn't stand out at all. But she didn't believe that, and... well, how better to go incognito at a con than to be a participant?

That's why she's showing up at the con dressed as Growl White, from some bad season of Super Squad. The helmet completely covers her face, and as long as she doesn't talk, no one will know it's her.

Of course, this is still a pretty odd choice for a cosplay, and considering how she's trying not to talk to anyone, she's gaining something of a reputation for a 'silent Ranger'. Can you figure her out?]

[Gaming tournaments]

[Of course, even if you can't figure her out, she's gaining another reputation... Because she's found the DDR machines. And so, in full costume, she has started to play, and is trouncing all comers. Each new challenger defeated is met with loud cheers. Cleo, on the other hand, is trying very hard not to pay any attention, since this is the closest thing to stress relief she can find. Do you dare challenge this mysterious dance master?]

[The problem with working out, of course, is that it makes you hungry. The problem with her costume is that it has a face-concealing helmet. This leaves her, with a pile of food in front of her, staring at it through her helmet like she isn't sure what to do. It would be a waste to throw it away, but she would die of embarrassment taking off her helmet so her face could be seen...

You may find her staring at her food with her helmet still on, or trying to find a quiet, deserted place she can eat in peace. If you're really lucky, you might find her right as she takes her helmet off to eat, though that might end badly for you.]

[Her friends are jerks and Cleo has no idea how they talked her into this.

That's why Cleo is walking around the convention on the 29th wearing a different costume, from a series she doesn't even know at all, trying to figure out how to best keep her modesty. She keeps trying to keep her cat ears still to make them seem like part of the costume, but that only makes them twitch more. She's fucking dying, and praying no one talks to her.

Unfortunately, a fit girl in that kind of outfit garners a lot of attention, and Cleo's been cornered by some photographers, and desperately looking for a way out. If she spots anyone she knows, or makes eye contact with anyone she doesn't, they'll get a pleading look to come help her. Are you going to abandon her to her fate?

[... Of course, all prospects of modesty or shame go out the window once she spots the Retrospec booth. Once she sees it, she immediately starts marching towards it, roughly shoving people out of her way if she has to, murder in her eyes.

She looks like she genuinely might be about to try to rip the booth apart with her bare hands. Someone might want to stop her.]

[If not for the ears... Tatsuo probably would have never recognized Cleo. Still, he'd have come over anyway after seeing the crowd of photographers clustered around one harassed looking woman.]

HEY! All of you! Scram! Can't you see you're bothering her?

[And he forcibly inserted himself in front of Cleo, blocking her from view. Which isn't hard considering how much taller he is than her. He glances over his shoulder.]

[Majima's pretty proud of how the Club Sunshine area ended up set up. A lot of the credit goes to Mista, who had come full of ideas with him. The two of them bounced ideas off one another to make something really great he's pretty sure they're both proud of.

The club's space is divided by themes and costumed hosts and hostesses - some shoujo characters, some shonen, some videogame all vaguely recognizable but not infringing copyright. The first few minutes chatting someone up is free, but then you can pay to continue the conversation and there's some food and drinks for sale (and alcohol in the evenings! very important hook up here.) They've also set up a cute photobooth if you want to get photographed with your cute conversation partner, and Majima himself is moving about the tables talking to people and trying to help them out, although he's just dressed in his normal tuxedo for work.

Come chat up Majima or just check out the club or come to the one place in the hall that'll serve you alcohol between 6 and 9, whatever you need.]

[ when he's not working, (his hours are anyone's guess really, feel free to run into him at random), majima's dressed up as gorgeous mariner moon's mariner aphrodite. he matches with kiryu (moon) and fawkes (ares) who may or may not be somewhere around here, but not wandering around with them isn't about to discourage majima from rocking it.

when they'd started planning this, he hadn't gotten his tattoos back from retrospec and the short sleeves of the costume didn't really seem like a problem but now his inked sleeves peek out from underneath the mariner scout sleeves. it can't be helped, really, and he really loves this costume so he's just going for it. and i mean he's going for it. he's got on a long blond wig, make up, the whole bit. he knows the poses for pictures. he's ready. somehow this is the same tame boss from the host cafe but he's having a great time.]

[majima scans the QR codes of course, he didn't get blackout bingo for nothing but ends up pretty disappointed at the lack of instant gratification. instead he takes more than his share of blowpops and some free retrospec swag and puts them in a bag (it matches his cosplay, which doesn't have pockets, which is the real tragedy of most cosplays.)

he's probably sucking on one of those lollipops when your character catches him hanging around the booth, killing a little time before going to work and generally lamenting the outcome of bingo.]

[Being at a convention isn't exactly the best of times for a bout of intense texting, and it certainly isn't a very optimal time to have a Serious Conversation with one of your quasi-relatives, but it turns out that life drama waits for no man (or woman, as the case may be), and so unfortunately, it's got to get dealt with one way or another.

That's ostensibly what ends up bringing Carmen to Cafe Sunshine this afternoon — not actually the camaraderie (or the alcohol), but just because it's a place where she can just sort of sit and think and put herself together in the wake of the not-argument she's just had, and in a place public enough that it's filled with distractions but anonymous enough that she can just sort of blend in the way that she wants to.

Granted, she's sort of forgotten about the likeliness of being aggressively hosted by coming here, but, well. Maybe she could use that, too.

So here she sits, in closet cosplay just close enough that she's vaguely recognizable as Misato Katsuragi without actually having any of the fine details that would make it a costume in its own right, poking almost sourly at her phone while she seems to try to get herself sort of centered and regain her poise once again.]

I. Gaming tournament

[ Amidst the buzz of chatter and video game music that characterizes virtually every game room, an especially loud shout emerges. At first, it may seem like nothing to write home about to those present — being so overcome with emotion that shouting becomes the only accurate means of expressing oneself can happen in any gaming session, after all. Before long, however, it makes it clear to that it is trying its damnedest to be impossible to ignore, and particularly for those close enough to its point of origin: a rather thin young man with dark hair and dark eyes fighting off (if it can even be called that, given its current failings) every attempt by staff members to escort him from the room.

Do you try to help the young man? Do you try to inch a little closer so that you can get in on the conversation because you’re nosy? Heck, maybe you’re even recording or snapping photos of the scene with your phone to share on social media later. In fact, if you hashtag it, it might even just end up on that photo wall up there.

But then again, you could also just be ignoring it entirely and continuing to get your game on. ]

II. Retrospec crashing the party

[ Despite his disdain for Retrospec and its cryptic, invasive ways, their booth nevertheless manages to squeeze itself right in Bakhura's line of sight each and every time the teen moves between the left and right wings of the Artist Alley. In his defense, however, it is kind of hard to miss compared to the booths around it. After all, it was not only the sole booth in an inflatable dome tent, but it was also the sole booth whose displays seemed to be tucked away as a result of said tent, meaning that Bakhura soon finds himself inside purely out of morbid curiosity.

Yet, rather than scorn it, Bakhura quickly comes to appreciate this decision, thanks in no small part to the basket of lollipops (among other loot, though Bakhura couldn’t care less about the Retrospec-themed merchandise) sitting invitingly atop the table. Needless to say, he will be spending most of his time in the Retrospec booth lurking in this particular corner before going on about his merry way.

In fact, Bakhura can almost be said to be spending an unusual amount of time near the basket.

Wait, is Bakhura... trying to make off with it?

Like, the whole thing?

III. Wildcard

[ Anything goes! Bakhura will drift all over the convention as the weekend goes by because #NERRRRD, but he's most likely to be found in the gaming tournament prior to his getting kicked out above, the artist’s alley, and the exhibitor’s showcase. Feel free to run into him in the food market, too! ]

i. cosplay

[Ami's not in the cosplay contest, but she does cosplay for all four days of the convention. She's only got one costume, though, and that's Marion Ravenwood from Indiana Jones! That said, it's not perfect - the shoes aren't right, the waistband has the wrong pattern, the shirt's not quite the right style, and the embroidery ranges from amateurish to just plain bad. But she tried, and she thinks she did pretty well for a beginner!

Also, she's got a frying pan. It has a zip tie on the handle because it's technically a weapon. Soooo maybe don't be too harsh about her costume.]

ii. gaming

[Ami is not good at video games. She's mostly here to watch. But at one point, there's a console that's not currently involved in a tournament, and somebody gets up and asks who wants to play next, and she happens to be right there... So hello, she is playing with you now! A new challenger approaches!]

[If you cosplay, there's a good chance you hear this a lot, so here's Ami adding to the dull roar of fandom. Throughout the weekend, she'll be stopping people with cool costumes and taking their pictures. She doesn't have an Instagram, but she'll be tweeting some of the pictures with #Reconvention, so there's a good chance this will get you up on the wall.

[ Mafuyu's been sitting here all day playing match after match, practicing until it's her turn in the tournament and the number of people wanting to play against her is starting to slow down. So newcomers are welcome!! Like a breath of fresh air. ]

COSPLAY CONTEST WINNERS - BACKDATED TO 29 JULY, AT ABOUT 6PM

on the 29th, throughout the whole of saturday, if your character happens to be in cosplay at the convention, they may find themselves accosted by npc members of Recolle's Cosplay Community, a local club which is dedicated to promoting cosplay culture in Recolle!

they will find themselves being invited to one of the exhibition halls at about 6pm on saturday for the convention's ad-hoc cosplay contest, where the president of the club will be waiting for both spectators and cosplayers to stream into the hall.

at approximately 6.05pm, she will announce the winners of the unofficial cosplay contest!

and the top three winners, in no particular order, judged based on theme, accuracy of costumes and also how well the cosplayers pulled their costumes off, are:

1.) CHOCOBO SQUAD, team comprising Prompto Argentum, Noctis Caelum and Dante Rantanen!
2.) CARD CAPTOR SAKUYA AND SYAORIN, team comprising Minako Arisato and Shuji Tsushima!
3.) LAST FANTASY XIV TANK/HEALER TEAM, team comprising Sorey and Mikleo!

these three groups will be invited on stage to collect their prizes, which includes a a cheque for $250, a small display trophy as well as a small stack of vouchers for use at some of Recolle's local businesses!

all other cosplay participants who have been corralled into the hall for this event will get a consolation prize/gift of a cheque for $50 and a participation ribbon - you can get your names printed on the ribbons after!

all other spectators will received a door gift of a small keychain branded with the cosplay club's logo.

[It'd be an understatement to say that life has been a little hectic in the days leading up to this con (and over the whole of the past month, really), but at last the day is finally here, and by god, Fawkes is determined to enjoy it. Con season is the most wonderful time of the year, every year, no matter the year, and this one is already promising to be delightfully ridiculous what with the general agreement that at least one of these days he and a bunch of his friends are going to assemble a Gorgeous Fighter Mariner Moon™ troupe and run around making idiots of themselves in the name of the moon.

It's not the kind of thing he'd ever do alone, without the support of a group of comrades. But the fact that he has precisely such a group in the here and now is all the more reason to enjoy it — and Majima's unrelenting faithfulness, in particular, isn't in any way something to be squandered.

So, while he's being more frugal with his money than might be really in the spirit of Con Season™, he's still finding ways of having a good time. You can absolutely always catch him hanging around near the games, whether it be patiently waiting his turn for another round of DDR or testing out the demos of the new ones on display at the various booths.

You also might find him hanging around Club Sunshine, though he doesn't work there proper; he's just a friend of the management, which is perhaps even more obvious if you happen to catch him on a day when he's hanging around in his Gorgeous Fighter Mariner Ares costume.

Alternatively, feel free to spot him anywhere! He'll be around enjoying the sights, and half the fun of con is the people you meet, after all.]

[She'd ducked in around the third day of con, because there are too many people participating here for her to get away with not going to see them. Kaiba gets a nod and a bit of a chat, discussing all the planning that's gone into this, and of course she has to go see Tony, which takes up an hour of her time as he flirts and teases and signs novel after novel for fans, and then there's Majima, advertising his club, and of course she has to go see Prompto and Noctis, if only to see them in all their chocobo glory, and--

And. Well. There's one other person here she hasn't yet seen, but Rosalind hesitates as she stares down at her phone.

It isn't that she's avoiding Fawkes. She imagines it would be quite nice to see him, actually, especially when he's so in his element here. But it feels as thought they're constantly walking on a tightrope, straddling the line between professional and personal, and she isn't entirely certain where the boundaries are. They'd gone on their midnight motorbike ride, yes, but that's a great deal different than going to see him in the middle of the afternoon in public.

But he might be hurt if he realizes she'd seen everyone but him, and, Rosalind reasons, it's not as if she'll do anything but say hello. So she turns around from the convention doors, putting the phone to her ear as she glances absently around. A demonstration catches her eye, and she turns, focusing on it.

It's for a video game; they're allowing people to preview it, she realizes. There's two large screens
stretching out, making it all but impossible not to watch. It's a shooter game, she realizes soon, something involving soldiers and storming into houses. One of the kids playing is firing his gun wildly, but by a stroke of luck, manages to put a bullet right through some hapless NPC's eyes. Blood and gore splatter across the screen, and Rosalind stares with wide eyes, her phone forgotten as it rings away.

Without another word she cancels the call and turns, striding towards the doors, already reaching into her pocket for her pack of cigarettes and lighter. Her expression is tight and blank, her stare a glower as she pushes open the door and slips outside. Someone will have to be quick to realize where she's gone, because she's ducked into the alley right next to the convention center.

So there she is, leaning against the brick wall in the alley next to the convention center, holding tight and sucking on her cigarette, her other arm crossed tight over her body.]
