"Why? We've got youtube." Freya's briefly distracted by wondering if any of them in the apartment owned a DVD player. Pen was surely bound to have something, littered as her place was with gadgets, but most laptops these days didn't have a disc drive.

And so, thinking about DVDs and the suspicious ocean before her, Freya was quite literally blindsided by her roommate.

And toppled into the edge of the waves with a startled sound.

"Because it's—" Lucy didn't finish her sentence, glancing back over her shoulder too late. She smacked into her roommate's back face-first, and the kite didn't go anywhere but back into the sand. Let alone Lucy, who was lighter and smaller and still on the top of the pile, but not enough to get away from the waves or the damp sand.

Freya simply laid there a moment in defeat, giving a frustrated sigh before she started lifting herself (and Lucy) up.

"Christ, Lucy. One concussion this month's enough." Not to say anything of frigid ocean water now soaking her front and the sand clinging to her face.

"You weren't there when I last looked!" ...which was an afterthought. Lucy's protest might have had more of an impact if she wasn't shouting into her roommate's shirt and shoulderblades too. Instead it just sounded like another grumble. A tickly one.

She started to wriggle and lever herself back up when she felt the ground (mostly Freya) move, at least aware enough not to sputter. Lucy didn't get that much sand on her in comparison, and Freya was probably a bit pissed. Best not to keep rattling the cage.

The teenager dished the kite out of the way of the next wave; it was damp, but water-resistant enough that it didn't matter. Still no closer to being airborne, though.
