[OPEN] Make Friends With Some Ducks

[Sora's well known around his neighborhood as a kid who loves animals. He regularly take in any animals that need his help, feed them, take care of them, and help them find a forever home as soon as he can.

The downside of that is that his neighbors (and his mother) can get annoyed if he has any... noisier animals. Which is probably why his newest animals, a set of three half-grown ducklings, are getting ready to leave far quicker than Sora would probably like them to.

Which is also why he's making a somewhat-rushed retrospec video advertising that he's got ducks. It seems to be a video of his backyard, a large pen with the ducks inside and quacking away, with Sora's harried face in the foreground. He looks... just a little bit stressed. His dog, Buck, is sniffing around the side of the pen.]

Hey, guys! So, I've got some new friends here! I took them in about a week ago, but I haven't had ducks in, like, forever, so I uh, wasn't really prepared for them, hehe.

[Buck yips in the background as one of the ducks quacks at him.]

Buck, no, go inside! A-anyway, they're getting pretty big really fast, but they're not ready to be released into the wild quite yet, but I can't really keep them much longer. I don't really have the room for all three, so uh, I was wondering if there was anyone out there who might like a new pet!

I have all the stuff to get you started, so you don't have to worry about that, and I'm giving them away for the low, low price of free! So, uh, yeah!

[Buck barks again, and this time the ducks freak out a little bit.]

Ack, no, stop it-!

[The video ends with Sora running over to the cage to pull his dog away from it.]

[The thing about Izuku is that he's tender-hearted. Especially when it comes to animals. He currently has one cat that he's adopted from Karkat's litter as well as a second cat that he looks after that belongs to his teacher slash neighbor.

Honestly, he lives in a reasonable sized apartment with his mom, so space isn't the issue so much as the combo of cats and ducks is likely to be an issue and he's never looked after a duck before in his life. But...he's going to look past that. Because they're so darn cute. But even he knows three is pushing it.]

I can-uh-take care of one of the ducks? Especially if you can tell me what all I'll need. I've never had a duck before. [His expression when the video feed starts is both uncertain and excited. It's a strange mixed emotion.]

How would it co-exist with a cat? Would I need to keep it penned up separate?

[It takes Sora a while to actually answer his phone, seeing as he's currently got his hands full trying to get his innocent but curious dog back into the house and away from the ducks, who are making a racket and probably annoying all the neighbors.

It's only once the situation is under control and the ducks are quiet again that he actually picks up the phone.]

That would be really cool of you! Don't worry, I've had ducks before, I can tell you everything you need!

As for cats, it kinda depends on the ducks and how they've been raised? But, uh, I have a cat too so they've been around cats since I got them. And they all seemed pretty cool with him. So, I guess it would depend on your cat?

If your cat is, like, an outdoor cat it might be used to chasing ducks, but if it's an indoor cat it might be okay.

I live in an apartment building so my cat is an in-door cat for sure. She's used to getting all of our attention though, so she might need some time to adjust. I don't think she'd chase them though.

[His mom would throw a fit if they broke something.]

But they do okay inside? They don't feel cooped up if they're inside too long?

[Terra] Tell A Secret

[This is somehow both one of the hardest and easiest panels on Sora's bingo sheet. He doesn't like talking about it, and he's not even sure he'd count it as a secret, but Terra wanted to know. Terra asked him, and Terra's going to find out eventually, so he might as well just get it over with.

That's why, one morning when he's worked up the courage, he texts the older boy.]

can we go somewhere and talk about a thing???

There's the golden boy! [Terra grins at Sora after opening the door for him and pats him on the back...probably way too hard.]

Come on in! [Terra leads the boy inside. His room is fairly small and tidy--simplistic. He takes a seat on a wide couch, in front of him a cheap, birchwood coffee table with two drinks on it.]

[Aria] Wrong Number Conversation

[This one, on the other hand, is one of the tiles Sora is most looking forward to doing. It seems like a fun, harmless little prank, and maybe he'll make a new friend out of it. Who knows? He can at least give it a try.

So here he goes, punching in a random number into his phone, and it's ringing, aaaaaand...]

[Mikleo] A Friend of a Friend + Share a Memory With A Stranger

[Sora's at the park! Why is he at the park? Who knows!

Actually, it's because he'd been called here by his one and only tutor, Sorey, but he's not entirely sure why. He'd gotten a text this morning to come, so he did, but showing up Sora hadn't seen a single sign of him.

For now, he's sitting on the playground swings, idly swinging slowly while he scrolls through his phone. It's not like he's not allowed to be here, but he's been waiting for a while now, and it's a bit worrying.]

[Mikleo's pretty sure Sorey is the worst at getting him to meet new people and make new friends. At least this time he'd given the pale-haired man a description of the person he's supposed to meet up with. He scans the parks with a slight frown of concentration before landing on Sora. Mikleo walks over to the swings, looking a little awkward. Honestly, the only one of Sorey's students he's actually met is Noah, so he has no idea what to expect from Sora.]

Uh...hi. Are you Sora? One of Sorey's students?

[SUPER SMOOTH. He just. Goes ahead and sits on one of the swings nearby, but not next to the kid.

So.

Awkward.]

[Sora looks up from his phone at the sudden voice, and grins when he sees the face.]

Yup, that's me! And you're... Mikleo, right? Sorey's boyfriend?

[He'd seen a picture of him, once, and it seemed like a pretty obvious connection to make.]

What's up? Is Sorey late or something?

[He smiles a little and nods. No surprise that Sora knows about their relationship, all things considered.]

Yeah, that's me. Though, it's feeling more like "babysitter" is a better way to put it.

[Mikleo sighs, running a hand through his hair.]

Yes and no? Sorey's trying to be helpful with our bingo cards. The "hanging out with a friend of a friend" one or something along those lines.

[ Mao's pleased for the chance to do any bingo squares that don't require him to get help from anybody else. On the other hand, doing this without help means he's the only one subject to stares as he starts doing a sun salutation on the outdoor seating area of Munch & Crunch. Deep breath, arms up, then slowly down...

At least if anybody seems him, they'll hopefully just attribute the weird behaviour to bingo as opposed to insanity. ]

[Under normal circumstances, Sora would probably find this ridiculous. Actually, he still does, but it's much less ridiculous when he knows the reason behind someone randomly doing yoga in front of a fast food joint.

He had the square, too, but he didn't know that anyone would actually do it. Clearly, he's underestimated the populace of the retrospec app.

But he still can't help but tilt his head at the stranger and stare from his seat in front of the Munch & Crunch.]

[ It's pretty out there, Mao'd be the first to admit it, but he's currently seeking a state of enlightenment in downward dog and hoping nobody's looking at his butt.

He's lifting up into cobra pose when he gets that feeling like eyes are on him, though, and even though he's supposed to be looking at the sky, he looks over at the restaurant instead.

... oh man. There's no redeeming the situation now, so he just mouths Bingo and hopes the guy watching doesn't pull out his phone and start filming. He's got to get through at least one cycle to feel like it'll count. ]

[Sora doesn't even consider pulling out his phone, actually, even before the 'bingo' is mouthed at him. Actually, the wheels in his own head are starting to turn, and he watches for another second before getting up from his seat and wandering over to the lone yoga man.

And then he sits down next to him. And starts to copy Mao's poses.]

Me too.

[Sorey] Share A Difficult Memory

[Sora's not even sure why he's doing this. He's already shared his memory with Jake, so he doesn't need to fill the square on his bingo...

But, some part of him wants to do it for himself. After that near-blowout they had, Sorey deserves the truth, or at least the part that Sora's willing to share with him. Somehow, this is harder than it had been with Jake, and even harder than with Terra. Maybe it's because he'd only known those two a short amount of time, but Sorey's been tutoring him and looking after him for over three years now.

It's nearly the end of the month when Sora finally works up the courage.]

[At this point Sora might as well be a little brother. Sorey really cares for him and he's not sure he shows it as much as he'd like. He's always aware of that professional distance he needs to maintain... but he'll ditch it in a second to make sure his people are okay.

He wonders what's bothering Sora. He can't think of what it is... maybe a Dante thing? But he takes it slow.]

[Maybe that's a bit of a vague answer but honestly, this sort of thing just kills his appetite. He just wants to get this over with and the nerves rolling in his stomach don't allow room for thoughts of food or anything else.]

[... Something's definitely wrong.]

ok! I'm on my way.

[Off he goes. If Sora texts him after that, well-- he won't get it, since he's a responsible driver and doesn't look at his phone while driving. He unlocks the passenger side door and sends another text.]

cmon, let's get coffee!

[Prompto] Steal a Retrospec Item

[Sora and Prompto are walking dogs together, which is a thing that seems to happen at least once a week these days. He doesn't mind, really, as Sora likes the other boy and they seem to have a lot in common. Not the least of which is that Prompto seems to be one of the only people Sora's met who likes dogs almost as much as he does, which automatically puts him in his good books.

Today is one such day; Sora's got three big dogs on harnesses out in front of him, and boy it's a good thing he's strong enough to hold on to the leashes because they could easily pull him right off his feet. In fact, they nearly do once or twice, but Sora doesn't mind.]

[mercurio]

[prompto, for his part, is walking his own dog, rufus, and three other dogs from the shelter. rufus is trained enough that he's off the leash and follows any command prompto gives him (come, boy!, etc), so that's not much of an issue.]

[he's glancing at sora from time to the time, when the dogs tug particularly hard, and he's trying not to snicker]

You sure you're okay? Can't believe they got this much energy after we let them loose in the dog park, huh.

I'm fine, really!

[As he says this, the dogs give a particularly hard tug, and this time Sora nearly falls flat on his face before managing to catch himself at the last second.

Sheepishly, he rights himself and glances at Prompto, grinning.]

Yeah, it's kinda weird how riled up they got.
