[OPEN] an improvement on christmas in july
WHO: Chuuya, Inkwell staff, and anyone else!
WHERE: The Quill and Inkwell, a restaurant and bar in Tisse.
WHEN: July 14, 15, 16
WHAT: Retrospec bingo nights and Halloween in July (on the 15th)!
WARNINGS: alcohol (potential underage drinking if anyone is Extra Sneaky), will update if more come up!
1. this is(n't) halloween
[On Saturday night, the Inkwell is decked out in Halloween black and orange, with little bats on the walls and windows and pumpkins on the countertops, fake spiderwebs on the bar and the ceiling.
Also on the ceiling: Chuuya, hanging upside down from it, dressed in a flowing black cloak and fake fangs. The bingo help party is partially a cover for his own center square to be marginally less embarrassing, but he still looks a little like he wants to die when he greets each new customer with an "I want to suck your blood," sometimes with the accent, sometimes without. Mostly it's with people he recognizes.
the things he does for the sake of this dumb bingo game. free him.
There are horror-themed drinks (Salem's Shot, Bloody Mary Shelley, Dra-Kahlúa, Red Rum, and so on) available along with the regular menu, all discounted for anyone who shows a bingo card or mentions Retrospec-- the neighboring restaurant hasn't gone quite as far with the theme, but is still decorated for the occasion. Chuuya prefers anyone underage stay on that side, but if there are enough people, well. He can't watch every single person. Try your luck.]
2. and the rest of the weekend
[On Friday and Sunday, the Quill and Inkwell operate as normal, with discounts still in place for Retrospeccers as an incentive. Feel free to use this as a way to meet up with strangers you've plotted with for bingo squares, or a way to find others-- toplevels for any day of the weekend are welcome, just put what you're trying to accomplish in your header or comment and mingle around as needed!]

saturday.
If I knew it was a costume party, I would have tried to dress up.
no subject
[an effort was made, here.
he hops down from the ceiling, landing lightly on his feet and giving her a little grin made sharper by the fake fangs.]
Figured if I had to embarrass myself for this game of theirs, I may as well go for broke.
no subject
[however, it is giving her an idea as well.]
no subject
[it's more grumbled than anything, a little annoyance bubbling up at the thought. honestly, the cloak he's wearing is probably pinned to hem it up, he's just banking on no one actually looking too closely.]
If you want to take a look, though, you're more than welcome to. I'm not making the theme mandatory, but the more the better, right?
no subject
[and before he can get any ideas at all-]
One of these card requirements is to go to a fancy restaurant in a Halloween costume, and I'm looking for someone who will join me in acting as though we practically dare someone to say anything about us.
no subject
[chuuya adjusts the collar of the cloak, that grin returning to his face at the idea. that sounds like the kind of acting he can really get behind.]
Sounds like fun to me, so- let's do it. God knows I'm gonna need something to get a little dignity back after all this.
no subject
[and probably have a drink or two, because she will always patronize the establishments owned by friends when she can.]
no subject
[so. while she does that, he'll return to ceiling lurking and greeting people. she'll be able to find a couple things that fit her decently enough, although one or two that were too long on chuuya may be too short on her, and he'll have left a drink for another employee to pass to her when she returns.
in the meantime, he's doing his fake dracula thing, though he's losing patience with it bit by it-- three separate people have responded to the blood-sucking spiel with something along the lines of what, just my blood?, and he is so done.
he lands on the floor next to her with a huff, gesturing to the door.]
Alright. I'm done. I don't pay myself enough for this shit, let's go fuck with people.
no subject
instead of worrying, she snaps the book shut when Chuuya announces he's done, having checked a few places' closing times when he was greeting people.]
There's a place I never tried a little ways away - supposedly it serves "new American cuisine." Sounds appropriately uptight for us.
[for her part, she plans on adopting perfect manners to further baffle these people.]
saturday
and why wouldn't he find it hilarious that chuuya is hanging in the ceiling and draw a bunch of sketches of it. oh. and take a photograph. he's just gonna stand around a little to the side but where chuuya clearly can see him, sketchbook in one hand, pen in the other. he has to bite his lip to not start laughing. ]
no subject
[chuuya reaches down from the ceiling, and quickly finds he... can't. there's still plenty of space between the book and his outstretched hand.]
At least promise you're not gonna go showing that off.
no subject
How can I not? It’s such a rare sight.
[ But nah, he won’t show it off. Not very much , at least. If it ends up on the internet, it’s not his fault. ]
no subject
[a roll of his eyes, there-- but then he grins, smile sharper with the fake fangs, and he holds up a hand with his fingers curled into 'claws'.]
If it gets out, I might just bite you for real.
no subject
[ He grins back up at him. ]
You’re free to try if you’d like.
no subject
[he snorts at that-- but a thought strikes him, too, one that leaves him thinking.]
Y'know, I don't think you've sparred me since I really got the hang of this gravity thing. You want to give it a shot?
no subject
[ He hums, canting his head as he taps the edge of the sketchbook. ]
That would be interesting, wouldn't it?
