[Hey, so there's this dude. You might recognize him as Ideal Cop for Cop Drama. (or as the guy with the shirtless selfie, who knows) Or you might not. Anyway, he's planning a comedy show in the park. You should come. At least, he's got the fliers with the time and date.
Without much prompting, he offers one to you.]
If you've got some free time later this week.
B.
[Well, now he's at the beach, looking so unperturbed by the heat. Maybe he's mildly hot, who knows. He's got a poker face of steel behind those glasses. But he is glancing at his phone.
And an enterprising person might recognize a certain bingo card.
Looks like he's got a lot he needs to fill in. Do you want to help?]

[ In the past before all his dreams shattered, but he's not going to be dramatic about it. He's never too dramatic. ]
I used to play baseball, so you could say that it's made me a competitive person. Team captain so I was basically the coach when the coach wasn't there. [ Plus... hmm... ] I'm thinking of coaching in the future.
[ Anyway. ]
What do you do?

That was me and soccer.
[he unceremoniously dumps a bunch of sand onto the base. He's starting to add the next layer. And sand is already everywhere.]
Anyway, I'm a cop now.

[ Curious now; it helps to have something to discuss while doing something so mundane. Normally when he puts too much concentration into something he gets lost and quiet, but this was relatively easy. ]
A cop? Hm. [ That reminds him of someone he used to know, but he swallows that memory down fast. ] I'm assuming this is your day off or something?

[it does help that they aren't in the sculpting phase yet-- they've just got to build this stupid base, and that... was going to take a long time.
But, realistically... they're making a lot of progress, as long as they don't make the base too wide. So, it was something.]
And yep. Don't get too many shifts guarding the beach.
[a shrug.]
What about you... you want to be a coach. Are you working with any of the intramural leagues right now?

Me too. [ In terms of having to drop it after school was over. Though he doesn't go into specifics, the reason being why he had to stop playing is still a heavy issue. ]
I said I was thinking about it, I haven't really made a final decision. My dad owns a restaurant and I help out there, so... [ He doesn't shrug, the last word having dragging into a drawl as his hands busy themselves. ] I might take it over.
