[The stables at Churchill Downs must be having a busy month with all these people suddenly wanting to race their birds. Arlene shows up early to get a better look at the place before her match with Vera. Pacing alongside the fence, she watches the chocobos from a distance, already mentally calling dibs on a tall gray one that probably used to be blue or green. He(?)'s a big guy, which means bigger strides, which would give her the edge... right?

Every so often, she checks her phone.]

[Vera arrives about 20 minutes after Arlene, a book on Chocobos tucked under her arm.]

Hey there, ready to lose?

I should be asking you the same thing. What took you?

[You know, because it's not like Arlene was here early or anything. She casually reaches for the book.]

Last-minute cramming? Tsk, tsk, Vera. That's not how you pass.

[It's not a frequent hangout spot of hers, but you know what the Stardust has over a club or coffee shop? A lot more ice. Arlene is dressed for skating in leggings under a light dress, though if they're going to be ice skating she's going to regret not bringing a coat. Hey, it's hot-as-balls degrees Fahrenheit out there, who wouldn't forget?

Provided Fynn isn't already there, she'll head for the arcade first. She sets a quarter on the DDR machine and leans against an air hockey table to watch, amused, as the players that were already there stagger through a song just shy of too much for them.]
