[It's Valentines day at the Enchanted Blossoms florist shop! Business is always blooming during this time of the year. Are you here buy some flowers for someone special? Then come on over and shop! Even if you just want to browse, that's perfectly fine too. Chloe, Dave, Prompto and Mikoto are all here to help you out if you need anything!]

I. How the floral business goes

[When you enter the shop, you'll be greeted by any of the four employees of the Enchanted Blossoms flower shop. All four of them are wearing the same ~~embarrassing~~ matching heart shirts. If you aren't being greeted, then you also might notice the employees working diligently, fixing up bouquets and helping out other customers. At some point, the owner of the shop; Mikoto Mikoshiba will greet you when he's not busy.]

Hello! Is there anything we can help you with? You can ask me or any of my employees for suggestions. We'll be more than happy to help you select the best flowers that are suited for you.

II. May we deliver that for you?

[When Mikoto isn't busy dealing with customers or making arrangements, he'll be spending his time chatting up with other customers and giving them suggestions. Either Mikoto tells you directly, or you hear it when he's announcing it to the whole store as a reminder that yes, they do deliver.]

We also do hand deliveries! So, if you need us to drop a bouquet or arrangement off to a school, workplace or anywhere else, we'll be more than happy to do that for you! Feel free to let any of us know.

A. Cupid's birthday arrow

[At some point in the day, if you happen to be at the shop. A small group of people will storm into the shop, carrying a bunch of balloons that read: "Happy 21st Birthday!" They will walk over to the red head owner, while clapping their hands and shouting. Once the shouting is over, they'll start obnoxiously singing "Happy Birthday" to him for a few moments before they shove the balloons into his arms and take off without saying anything else.

In the process, they also left a rather large chocolate cake for the employees and any customers to snack on.

If you happen to be paying attention to the owner and not the delicious looking cake; Mikoto is going to be covering his hands with his face, trying to hide just how red he is. Because that was too embarrassing!!]

B. All hail the queen aka cat petting area

[Next to the cash register is a large wicker chair that is decorated in flowers. Sitting on the chair, is none other than the queen of cats herself; Noa. Resting on top of her head is a flower crown that is made by the owner. If you pass by the chair, she'll either look at you with pleading eyes, either she wants a pet or something to eat. That also depends on her mood, she might also simply yawn at you and not want any attention at all. She is definitely the most fickle cat there is.

However, Mikoto claims that if you pet her, you will have good luck with your love life. So... do you dare to pet the queen?]

C. Wildcard

[Bascially, you can just bump into him anywhere in the shop. He's going to be there all day long]

(ooc: Also! I made a mistake when Mikorin was telling people how old he was. I told some people that he will be turning 20, but he's actually going to be turning 21! This was an oversight on my part because I stupidly forgot I made him 20 in this AU and not 19.)

[And there he was, so caught up in being embarrassed by birthday celebrations that he hasn't noticed a Nobu. How could he.

So she's just gonna, y'know, clear her throat to try and get his attention.]

Hey, I'm waiting here old man.

[How dare he!!!

When he hears the... very familiar voice of his oh so favorite gaming partner. He immediately removes his hands from his face and turns his head towards the voice.]

Excuse you, I'm only 21! [He lets out a long sigh. Sometimes he does feel old after running a business for only 6 months...] What can I help you with? Surprised to see you here.

I'm not here for flowers if that's what you're thinking.

[Because yeah, honestly. She isnt the type.

She reaches into the satchel hanging from her shoulder instead, pulling out a little box that she paces on the counter.]

Here.

[Inside the box is an assortment of candies. Some are jelly on biscuit with coconut shavings, some are mint thins with chocolate coating, some are just plain old biscuit with a cream centre and there are a few plain chocolate squares too.]

I picked them out myself; so you shouldn't have any complaints.

[The kind gesture from Nobu causes him to blink. It takes him a few seconds to process what was going on, but her voice snaps him back to reality.]

Geez, you didn't poison them or anything did you?

[Despite his stupid joke, he opens the box and it causes him to smile. What a pretty assortment of candies! If he had to be honest, it was really touching.]

Thanks a lot, Aki. All of this looks really good, for once you won't hear any complaining from me. I can't wait to try these.

[She just shrugs.

She doesn't want to admit she thinks it's the right thing to do, y'know. Getting someone something in return if they Think Of You. Being nice. Being considerate. All that gross stuff.

She is still the cold, uncaring person she absolutely claims to be ok.]

That was for valentines. Here's your birthday gift.

[The next gift she just fishes out of her pocket, and it's revealed to be a slip of paper she seems to have written some kind of random looking string of 24 numbers and letters on??]

[Wow. He's going to continue to be surprised by Aki because he definitely wasn't expecting this? He was already happy with the candies but there was more? ]

You even remembered that it was my birthday? I'm... [He's a bit embarrassed to admit this, even his own cheeks begin to blush.] really flattered.

[He takes the slip of paper and examines it, tilting his head at the string of numbers.]

What's this suppossed to be?

It's a reward key for OPO. I remember you were kind of bummed about how you didn't have time to make it through the promotional tower raid for the anniversary event last year, so after I cleared it to get it myself I ran through it with my alt account and got a second code.

I usually just farm stuff like this and sell it online, but I'll make an exception this once.

[Hopefully this level of consideration makes up for the fact she's awful to him almost all the time...]

[He wants to give her a pat on the head. But he's scared that she'd break his fingers if he tried to.]

[Because clearly that was the most important aspect about this entire endeavor. And clearly, from the flush in his cheeks, he was going to need a good stiff drink afterwards. Chloe chuckled lightly at his expense while patting him on the shoulder between arrangement crafting.]

[When he feels the pats on the shoulders, he found himself relaxing and feeling a little less embarrassed. Mikoto always found himself saying "Thank god for Chloe." Because he always felt comfortable around her prescene.]

Thanks... I completely forgot about that. [He lets out a nervous chuckle.]

I've never had a drink before but maybe I do need one after today. Not sure what to try first, though.

How could you forget about something so important? I am accustomed to living in a place where it is not so strange to drink at the age of sixteen. To have to wait so long, is it not something of a milestone?

And I think you might need it. [She smiled and thought about it for a second.] Perhaps just a glass of wine?

I'm... not sure. It just... never crossed my mind, I guess. [He's also nervous at the idea of drinking because he's a wimp.] Wait, you could drink at the age of sixteen at the place where you used to live?

[Jesus, that's so young to him. But maybe he's starting to think he has the mindset of someone old. Is this was turning 21 does to you???]

I guess I should at least try a glass of wine for this special occasion. Any brands you recommend?

Well, of course. The drinking age in France is sixteen. [She laughed softly and shook her head.] Americans are the ones who are so worried about such ages, yes? I couldn't buy from a store until 18, but mother said that was recent. Either way, we drink at a much younger age there.

But we also teach how to do it responsibly. [She thought about it for a moment and then shrugged.] I would say, perhaps, a nice glass of wine myself. Perhaps a petit sirah. They are light and pleasant.

Wow, I had no idea. [This was a shocker to him! Granted, he's never really thought about drinking.] But I guess that makes sense, if you teach responsibility, then you should't worry about age.

Petit sir... rah? [A+ pronunciation skills.] Light sounds good. So, I'll remember that and give it a try. [He nervously scratches the side of his cheek, looking around to make sure that no one else can hear him.] Don't uh, tell anyone but I'm a little nervous about the idea of drinking.

I was told by my mother that there were arguments over the subject, but I have always felt that teaching maturity is enough for many things. There are quite a few differences in the laws, though. Trust me.

And do not concern your pretty little head with that. I have more than enough to gossip about my employer without adding this to the mix, I assure you. [wink]

Yeah, I agree with you. I feel like, if you teach maturity then that should be enough? One day I'd like to go to France to see how it's like.

Thanks Chloe, I knew I could count on you! [He's practically beaming from her willing to keep his secret that it takes him a few moments for it to dawn on him on what she just said.] Wait. What do you mean gossip?!

Oh, the usual sorts of things. [She grinned over at him and winking.] But if I were tell you the juiciest bits about you, how would you be surprised by them when the chance comes along? That ruins the fun of gossip, does it not?

[That wink and grin only makes him feel anxious.] Geez, you are such a tease. I'm just going to feel embarrassed when I finally do hear about it. You just want to see my surprise reaction, don't you?

And here you've come to know me so well, not that I make that much secret of it, do I? [She grinned and snickered some.] But don't worry. It's nothing too terrible, I assure you. You haven't ever embarrassed yourself that badly, I promise.

[Does he even have a reason to be in here today?? Not really! He's self-banned himself from buying more flowers this month because he's already splurged way too much for a college student living in a broom closet apartment...

But he's here anyway, and he's apparently gunning for Mikorin's cat.]

You're looking as pretty as ever today! What a good model. You're so lucky, y'know? [That last part's seemingly directed at Mikorin himself, since Kiyomitsu glances up and over his shoulder toward the counter at that.] Having a cat you can pet all day... I'm super jealous.

[In response to Kashuu, Noa looks up at him and gleefully meows at him, rubbing head head against the side of his hand. Mikoto on the other hand, is watching all of his unfold with a smile.

For a brief few seconds, he thought that Kashuu was talking to the cat until he realized that he was talking to him.]

Oh! Uh... [Shit. Hide your blush, Mikoto!] Yeah, I do feel lucky. She's also a very well behaved cat, too.

[It's hard to tell if he did catch on to the fact that Mikoto mistakenly thought he was being addressed and is teasing, or if he's just being complimentary for no reason like he sometimes is...]

I have! My apartment's waaay too small for one though, and my roommate doesn't like 'em either. Told you he has bad taste.

Right? I could talk for hooours about his awful taste in pretty much everything. I don't even know why he doesn't like cats, y'know? I mean, he's an obvious dog person, but he's got all these weird superstitions. He'd probably freak out of I brought a kitten home anyway, someday.

[Which Kiyomitsu may or may not be considering, despite Yamato's general aversion to them... CATS, THOUGH. HE'S GOTTA.]

But if I could find one even half as sweet and pretty as yours, I'd be happy!

[~~Best cat~~ Noa continues to happily let out soothing purs when she feels her ears being scratched. She continues to rub her head into Kashuu's hand, as if she were asking for more head pats. Especially since this human was avoiding her precious crown.]

That's beyond strange! He should at least have a reason, I mean... I don't know anyone that dislikes cats besides him. Dogs are cute, but not as cute as cats. [This roommate of his was starting to seem weirder.]

I say forget his superstitions and get one if you ever decide to give in. [The compliment towards Noa makes him swell up with pride and he feels like a proud parent when he hears it.] With your charm, I'm sure any cat will be sweet to you. We can even set up play dates with our cats too if you ever decide to get one.

[More head pats is exactly what she'll be getting because dang, he's a sap when it comes to cats and he can't help but spoil the heck out of them... He'd be the best and worst cat dad at the same time and his cat would undoubtedly be a hellion with how spoiled it would be.]

Right? I like dogs and all, but you just can't get better than a cat. They're just too cute with their little toes and noses and ears! [How can you like anything more!!

That said, his expression sure lights up at the mention of play dates with cats.]

Ooh, really? That would be the best! I hope they get along well and become good friends, that would be nice.

Right, right?! Something about their pointy ears is just so cute and they way they wiggle their noses is darling. [How can you like dogs more than cats, Yamato?!]

[He needs to calm down because Kashuu doesn't even have a cat. Yet he's getting excited at the idea of letting his cat and Kashuu's hypothetical cat being friends?! He's practically sparkling now.]

I would like that a lot! I'm sure that Noa would too, she could use some more cat friends. I also saw some cute cat clothes at the store the other day and it will be fun to dress them up together.

[Get a cat, Kashuu... you know you want one!!! Also someone stop Mikoto.]

[SOMEONE STOP MIKOTO. Someone stop Kiyomitsu too because he's also sparkling at the idea of dressing... cats up... in little cat clothing and then sending them out on playdates together... This isn't how cats work.]

Oh my god, that'll be the cutest thing ever! We'll have to get a nice camera so we can get good pictures of them together. Maybe you can even use them as promo images for some of your products! Everyone loves cats so anything with a cat on it will definitely sell right away.

[So says the totally unbiased extreme cat lover Kiyomitsu Kashuu whose opinion is absolutely not colored by how much he loves their pointy ears and wiggling noses.]

[Chloe was visible, practically beaming through the entire day's festivities. Festivities might have been a bit of a misnomer, but to her a job that she loved qualified as more of a joy than a chore. And she loved working with plants and flowers, so this was definitely a treat. Valentine's Day was always her favorite holiday, since it was a chance for people to find true love, or at least that's what she kept telling herself to ignore the overly aggressive marketing surrounding it.

Either way, she didn't seem to mind the goofy t-shirt and was either wrapping up and preparing an arrangement for the next order, or answering any questions someone might have, smiling without much in the way of a forced look on her face as she did.]

[ Ryoga staggered into the store, pizza box perched on one shoulder. His slacks were slightly torn at the cuffs of one pant leg, as though a stray dog had taken a particularly strong disliking to him.]

D... delivery!

[Chloe blinked and looked up from her work before grinning at Ryoga. Oh, well, hello there. She waved him over towards the desk. There was money set aside for this, yes. There it was.]

Well, hello there! Keeping busy?

You could say that. Oh, this...

[ Huh. This shop looked pretty welcoming. Even if he wasn't all that into flowers. He put the pizza down on the desk. ]

This place is nice.

I like to think so. This is the first time you've ever been to enchanted blossoms, is it not? I would give you the tour, but we are not that large, so you can see all that there is to see easily.

[She smiled over at him, setting the money into his hand while she took the pizza over and set it out for everyone. It would be gone in minutes, she was certain.]

It's strange... I keep running into people selling flowers. The other day, I bought a bouquet a lot like the one there...

Why yes, yes it did. My employer was managing it, so it's quite possible that you encountered him. He employs quite a few skilled employees and the shop is very popular.

[She tapped at her lips, thinking about what Ryoga had said and then looking at him curiously.]

Are you hoping to get a new job, then?

Maybe I ran into one of your coworkers, then. Small world.

Anyway, it would be more accurate to say that I don't anticipate holding onto it for very long. I don't have a good head for streets.

[ Or buildings. Or hallways. Or houses. ]

Ahhh, I see. Not finding one's way would be a tricky thing, if your intentions were to make deliveries. I also hear that people change jobs many times when still young.

It's fine. It's just a part-time job. I'd probably be better off walking dogs.

Dogs would almost certainly not mind if you were a little wayward in your directions. Have you considered, though, the possibility of using a GPS to help, perhaps?

Oh, I believe he is just being nice, since we have to work a lot for Valentine's Day. Nothing special.

[ The reaction was practically reflex by now. GPS units were merely moving, more complicated maps -- and therefore even worse for him than paper maps. ]

Unfortunate. It usually helps, but if it does not, well then it can't be relied upon can it? [She shrugged.] Heh, yes. He is well aware that we are not all inclined to eat the same things.

He really is quite a nice employer, honestly.

Oh no, I was first employed by his parents, and I got into this because I love working with plants and want to be a florist on my own eventually.

This store is family-owned? I had no idea.

I am. My plan is to go to college first, and I want to save for that. I will probably look into the small business loan after but that is many years from now. A bridge to cross in time.
