Going for the Bingo
WHO: Orion and OTA
WHERE: Shops, the park, or wherever he's working at the time (you can pick the job as long as it's low grade.)
WHEN: All through July
WHAT: Bingo
WARNINGS: TBA
((OOC: I'm late for the party, and I don't have any preemptive planning. His middle one is "Buy a bouquet of roses and hand them out to strangers." I'm game for pretty much any of these. (just expect him to put up a fight for singing.) If you have questions or want to plot specifically, feel free to hit me up at:
Tseil or PM me!))

[ PARK ]
Orion looks bored as he sits idly on a bench. Come get him to do stuff.
[ SHOPS ]
Finding anything he's looking for is proving to be ridiculous. Give him a hand? You may get a thank you out of it.
[ JOBS ]
Thanks to a recent stunt he pulled, he's had to pick up other odd jobs. Whether that be serving ice cream and cashiering or doing labour depends on the day, really. And his resume is.... less than outstanding. In either case, he puts forth effort; if he's good for nothing else.
If you find him on the job, perhaps you'll harass him. Or maybe you can bribe him to abandon his duties for the day. It wouldn't be that hard, actually. He's already tempted to let his money run out and go live back with his parents for awhile. Or... maybe you can even convince him to do something amusing while he's on clock, in front of customers.

shops; towers bingo square?
Sidles up to Orion to interrupt his shopping, hello, sorry ]
If you were to get married, what would you want the most?
Sounds good! o7
...Yea, he's not sure how to answer that. The thought of marriage never crossed this poor guy's head.
And for a solid moment, Orion's speechless. Before he finally scoffs.]
Like I have a clue. Probably something easy to deal with. A microwave, or a dish rack, or something.
[He scratches his head as he looks at the available merchandise. Come to think of it.]
Y'think we could cheat and pitch in? Go half and half. I'm sure it'd be easier on both our wallets.
[Especially Orion's. He doesn't have all the money for this shit.]
no subject
I don't think he would mind if we shared. The important thing is the sentiment behind it, that we're thinking of him.
[ He peers at the microwave on display. Nothing says "Happy wedding!" like a microwave, right? ... ]
Maybe something less expensive, though. Half a microwave is still a lot.
no subject
Yea, definitely. [Though, what that something else should be, he has no clue. Maybe a blender? His and her towel sets?
Well, unless Ryoji's got a better idea...]
We can look around until we find something decent. ....I'm Orion.
[He holds out a hand to Ryoji.]
no subject
[ He shakes Orion's hand and... doesn't let go; instead he adjusts his grip to drag him towards the footwear. ]
I wonder if we could find something like personalized matching slippers? If we're going to be purchasing things for Jim and Janet, it should be something they use together, not Jim taking things for himself.
no subject
Orion should argue, he really should. Isn't it awkward holding hands in public with a stranger?
Toward the footwear to discuss his and her slippers?
It's a good thing Orion at least has some idea of what's going on here, or he'd take Ryoji for some sort of stalker.
He clears his throat a little as he straightens himself while he's being toted along.]
Sure, that'd probably work fine. It's a good idea, and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. [In the meantime, he sticks his freehand in his pocket, doing his best to look nonchalant about being dragged by the hand.]
no subject
He mumbles something about an arm and a leg, slowing as they come to the racks upon racks of shoes, still haven't let go of Orion's hand. ]
...Come to think of it, I don't know Jim's shoe size. Do you think it would matter?
no subject
[Working as a cashier for most of his career life, he's seen alot of those.
As the pace slows, Orion feels more awkward, convinced that it looks like they're on a date
not that he's had many experiences with those. It was fine when the pace was faster; it helped Orion to not lose track of the other man while they went through the store, but now...]Ryoji, you don't have to hold my hand... [That should be straightforward enough, right? When was the last time someone held his hand anyway?]
no subject
[ He would make any possible interaction a date, tempted to respond how he always would when people tell him he doesn't "have to" do something, saying that he "wants to." But while his hand does linger in Orion's for a moment after he says that, Ryoji does let go, two hands to lift out a box with lavender loafers. ]
Sorry, I wasn't thinking. My mother used to hold my hand in large department stores so I wouldn't wander off and get lost. [ He was five. ] I find it a comfort.
no subject
He'd almost contemplate colour. Except he doesn't really care about Jim (and even wanted to beat some answers out of the guy), much less his girlfriend.]
Hey, you think he's really going to get married? I wouldn't put it above this guy to be pulling another stunt.
no subject
I don't know. I'd imagine it's something like... using us to convince Janet of how many people support their relationship, to go as far as to purchase gifts wishing them well. But I don't mind being used, so long as there's a chance to receive answers in exchange.
no subject
He's convinced this is some scam.] Just that trusting, or do you have reason to think so?
[He pauses at a pair and finds himself chuckling before long as he grabs them off the shelf and holds them out to Ryoji to see, a grin on his face.]
Hey, what about these? It'd be perfect for the two of them.
no subject
[ He looks up at the laugh, getting to his feet as he stares at Orion's choice of footwear. ]
What is—
[ He reaches over to touch them but then stops because oh my god are those udders?? why ]
no subject
Looks like Ryoji doesn't find the shoes as humourous, but Orion's still getting kick out of this.]
Man, they really do make anything, don't they?
Think we should get them personalized in green for the pasture?
no subject
[ Green doesn't exist anymore and grey udders just look sick and diseased, it's an all around terrible idea. ]
Maybe Jim would find it funny though, maybe be in better spirits and take it easy on us...
no subject
He does seem the kind of guy with a sense of humour, huh? [Albeit, a weird one.]
Although, if he'll actually take it easier on us, I doubt it. It seems like he just does things to get his own rocks off.
no subject
[ The weird cow shoes get placed back into the box and tucked under Ryoji's arm. They're just buy these, yeah, that's fine. ]
Janet would be good for him, but that's not fair to her. She shouldn't need to mother him.
no subject
Maybe that's why Zelos left him. Ouch.
Orion might have been quiet a moment too long, but he finally speaks up.]
Y'think mothering is really that bad? [He keeps his tone even, for the sake of curiousity.]
no subject
[ Not entirely bad. Ryoji gets mothered too, by his best friend who worries constantly over him. Sometimes it feels unnecessary and oppressive; most of the time he understands why. ]
It's a sign of care between two people, the desire to keep somebody safe and happy. I just don't know that's the sort of relationship Jim and Janet have.
no subject
[Orion doesn't want to think that Jim deserves someone like that. But it's more out of bitter jealousy than anything.]
Who knows. We'd have to see it to believe it anyway. And I don't think Jim is going to come busting from the nearest clothing rack to introduce us to this chick.
[Or, at least, he really hopes they wouldn't. That'd be... more than unusual.]
no subject
At the register, the cashier gives Ryoji a dubious look when he asks if the box can be shipped to "Jim from Retrospec," and there's the hitch in their plans: there's no address to send it to. ]
...Do you think we could just leave this at the Retrospec building?
[ And maybe lie in wait to see if Jim comes out and takes it. ]
no subject
Of course the cashier looks at them like Ryoji's crazy. Fucking Jim. He swears to God. How much more complicated can this guy make things for these two?]
Do you think it'd work?
[Orion's totally game for that if you are, Ryoji.]
no subject
[ Retrospec building it is, because otherwise they're throwing away money for nothing, and even Ryoji can't find anything optimistic to say about that. ]
Have you been to the building before? I hope it's open; then we can just leave it at the front desk.
no subject
[It's more of an eyesore that he sees regularly on the passages to work. And Orion might have muttered something under his breath about breaking into it if it isn't open.
Orion grabs the receipt from the cashier.]
Come on, then. We've made it this far. Might as well finish it so we can mark our cards.
no subject
To the Retrospec building! It isn't quite holding hands, but when the cashier bags the shoe box, Ryoji takes only one of the handles and leaves the other for Orion to balance out; this is fine, they can walk down the streets just like this. ]
"Udder disappointment." Why aren't you and I friends? xD
A look at Ryoji, and then back at the bag.
............
Whatever. Before he changes his mind, he goes ahead and grabs the other handle, debating if this looks weirder than holding hands as they walk.
It probably does.Someone remind him how to make small talk.]
So, how long you been here? [For a guy as forward as Ryoji, he's sure never met him before.]
bc i die every time i make a pun but i can't help it haha
Here as in Recollé? I moved back this December, so... seven months now.
[ During which he spent the bulk of his time hanging out with the high school crowd, relating to them more than older college students even though he's due to start college this coming fall. ]
What about you?
No, don't die! They're amazing! Also, sorry for the delay.
[He shrugs.]
Not as exciting as my hometown, but it was probably better that we moved here. I caused way too many fights.
[Not that he doesn't cause fights now, he just does it significantly less here.]
Where did you live before here, then?
no subject
...The last few months have been plenty of excitement for me, but I like that Recollé is quieter than many cities out there. I was actually born here, and moved away when I was six. After that until now, I lived all over.
no subject
Ryoji, for your safety, don't ever call Orion a chicken. ....Or put him near Zelos. That look of disbelief doesn't bother Orion. In fact... he didn't notice it at all.
His eyes are ahead to keep an eye out for the Retrospec building and it's entrance.]
One of the worldly types, huh? You must really like it here if you came back after all that. Is it really all that much nicer?
[Maybe the reason Ryoji's so forward is because of international customs. Not that he has a clue. He never so much as cracked open his geography textbook in school.]
Will you travel again, or you gonna settle here after all that?
no subject
I suppose so... My mother came back to live here while I was still travelling, and I followed several years later because she got very ill. So I didn't exactly come back for the city...
[ He does like Recollé though, enough that he's stayed here long after his mother bounced back; during that time, many things had happened that makes him reluctant to leave, so it's a little shrug that he gives Orion instead of finishing his thoughts. ]
no subject
[Because it would kind of suck if she didn't. He'd maybe even feel bad for Ryoji, being the cheerful guy he is; that would be depressing.]
Sorry if it's none of my business. [It's said casually and easily while Orion scratches the side of his head with his free hand; he wouldn't mind being shrugged off for sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. And if it did go south for Ryoji's mom, it would make perfect sense especially if he didn't want to answer it.]
no subject
[ Not 'better,' but alright. Getting better would be too optimistic. But Ryoji doesn't look bothered either— like he said: he's glad for the concern, and somebody keeping her in their thoughts. ]
no subject
[Orion actually looks a little relieved.
Until he sees the Retrospec Building just a little ahead of them. It seemed like such a short conversation. One that he hadn't minded at all.]
Looks like we're here, then.
[He looks at Ryoji, as if almost uncertain what to do at this point, looking for a lead to follow. Ryoji had pulled him along this far, after all. Although, he supposes maybe they should try the doors.]
no subject
He raises a fist to knock on the door— onetwo, onetwo— and after the fully expected silence, tries the handle. It turns easily, and the door swings open. ]
Hello? Jim...?
no subject
What the Hell, where's all the staff? Even Orion knows this is bad for business. Not to have a face for the company, and leave the door so easy to get through. At least they can leave it on the desk, he supposes?
Orion heads for the desk, hand still on the bag, and rummages through drawers for a notepad and a pen. They might as well leave a note so that Jim knows it's from them.
He scrawls a note in messy, barely legible handwriting - To Jim, from Ryoji and Orion. - then he looks at Ryoji.]
Do you want to add anything else?
no subject
I suppose there's no need to leave contact information, seeing as it's Retrospec. It looks good to me.
no subject
.......Although the hopping is unusual. Orion actually shakes his head a bit.]
Just put your foot down. It's gotta be easier than hopping. [Seriously. What a weird guy. Ryoji just makes him wonder a little.]
Cool. [They can get the Hell out of this creepy place. He sticks the note on the slippers, makes sure the receipt is there, and drops the pen back on the desk.]
Let's get out of here before they change their mind.
[He holds the door for Ryoji while the other man puts his shoe back on and lets hims out the door first.]
