No, it's not that! It's more that I want a friend of a friend to be my friend too! And if cupcakes help with that, then I'd give you as much as you'd want.

[She smiles almost smugly, putting the rest of his free samples on a little dish for him.]

I know. We make the best cupcakes.

[ Noctis smiles, it's lopsided and sleepy, but genuine enough. Seems like he's running into a few people in his time here that are friends with Prompto. And so far, it's wound up creating new friendships for himself. Something that he isn't entirely used to.

The cupcakes are a perk, but... ]

I'm alright with that.

[ With being friends. He sounds a bit meek there, but he manages not to make a fool of himself at least. Noctis reaches for the next sample, taking a bite. ]

What part of Japan are you from? I've been to Tokyo a few times.

[complementing]

[Seeing that endearing sleepy smile a second time has her pausing for the briefest moment to realize that it's the exact same smile her brother used to give her-- and it's in that same moment that she decides to throw her all into befriending him. Brace yourself for that, Noctis.]

Good! I'm so glad.

[Minako smiles warmly as she steps out from behind the counter, setting his samples onto a nearby table and gesturing for him to sit. A quick trip behind the counter again, and she's back with coffee, one for her and one for him.]

Tokyo is great, isn't it? I wasn't in Tokyo City proper, but Tachikawa's close enough that I could go any weekend I wanted to. I miss it a lot. What were you there for?

[kittycaterer]

[ Noctis is hardly good at making friends, so, the more the merrier!

He follows her guidance, going straight to the table she sets the delicious samples on and having a seat. Finally, he pulls off the hood from his head, letting his messy black mane take the attention, rather than him looking ridiculously closed-off.

Once she's back with coffee, he thanks her, taking his mug. ]

I've passed through Tachikawa a few times; never got the chance to properly "visit", but I've taken a train through.

My dad's got a few partners out in Tokyo and Kyoto. I try to tag along any chance I get.

[complementing]

[There's a pang because the mess of black hair is just like her brother's, but she mentally sighs at herself and pushes the thought away. Instead, she smiles at him, and then hides her face behind her coffee cup for a sip.]

Too bad, Tachikawa is nice! Hm, well, if not there, then where was your favorite place to go? What was your favorite thing to do? Indulge me a little bit, I want to get nostalgic.

[kittycaterer]

[ Awkward as he is, he feels more comfortable as the seconds pass. Minako has a very calming presence. He smiles softly, taking a sip of his coffee before thinking of ways to reminisce about Japan. ]

Mm...

[ He looks up in thought. ]

So. Only been there once, but... The castle in Nagoya. Pretty calming walk.

I haven't been in years, but I'd like to. I'm half Japanese, so I'd try tagging along to keep up on the language.

[complementing]

[She sighs almost dreamily.]

I love that castle. I love all the castles in Japan, really. All the history there, the time of shoguns and samurais...

[Minako perks up out of her reverie, beaming with delight.]

And how's your Japanese now?

[kittycaterer]

Ah...

[ It's a rough switch, but his accent is decent enough. But his speech is a little slow. ]

Not the best, but decent enough to get by.

[complementing]

That's not true, I think you're very good!

[She switches back with a laugh.]

You're more confident than my friend Sorey. I've been teaching him Japanese and he always second-guesses himself when he speaks. But he makes up for it with his reading.

[kittycaterer]

[ Noctis chuckles a bit in return, gaze bashfully shifting to his mug as he offers a shrug. ]

I'm better at understanding it and reading it. Carrying a conversation can be difficult.

I haven't been back in a few years, so I feel like it's rusty.

[complementing]

[She hums in understanding.]

If you ever want to get back into it, I'd be more than happy to tutor you. Or just, you know, speak with you in Japanese if you ever come visit the bakery again.

[kittycaterer]

[ Noctis smiles, leaning back in his seat a touch. ]

Yeah?

Actually... I'd like that. If I've got someone to talk to in the language, I'd get more practice.

[complementing]

Yup! And that's the only way you're going to get better, really, short of going back to Japan and completely immersing yourself in the language.

[She tilts her head at him.]
