WHO: Jirou, Kenta, Fai
WHERE: Jirou's place
WHEN: 7/1
WHAT: Kenta finally has the app and it's time for Jirou to show him off to Fai. Especially since Kenta isn't busy right now.
WARNINGS: Drunk man!
As soon as Kenta had the app on his phone, Jirou was shooting a message to Fai. Well, he'd been meaning to shoot a message to him anyway because he loved hanging out with him and let him know Kenta was getting him a dog soon but now this was suddenly way more important. So with that sent and Kenta dragged over, he waited eagerly, practically vibrating next to his friend as they shared drinks.
And as soon as he heard someone at the door... "FaiFai! Come in!"
He'd given Fai a key awhile ago so his friend could come over whenever. Who would have thought it would work out well for this as Jirou took Kenta by the hand to drag him over. "This is my bestie I was telling you about! Kenta has the app now too! And he's bigger than me!"
Why was that last part important? Who knew. But there he was letting Fai know.

He wasn't even all that surprised at having to dig the key Jirou had given him out of his pocket to let himself in. Jirou was probably--
Oh. Hey. Someone even taller than Jirou, damn.
Fai stood just inside the door, the key still in his hand, in the skinny jeans and sleeveless Pat Benatar shirt he'd thrown on after work, and his eyes went wide as Jirou dragged his apparent "bestie" over. Fai was already a few inches shorter than Jirou, so now he was definitely the tiny one.
"Hyuu~ You're not kidding!"
no subject
He didn't exactly smile, but his face looked at least open and inquisitive as he introduced himself.
"I'm Kenta. I'm guessing if you're friends with Jirou, you might already know more about me than I do about you."
no subject
"Kenta this is Fai! He's the really cute one I showed you pictures of when he and I did hot tub mermaids together!"
no subject
"Ah, you're right, I've heard a lot about you! Jirou talks about you all the time!" Fai shot a wink at Jirou at that, not really caring that Kenta could obviously see it. "It's really nice to finally meet you!"
The part about hanging out certainly didn't bother him. Hanging out with Jirou was always a treat, and Fai couldn't imagine that changing much just because they'd added another person to the mix. He did, however, blush very faintly at the mention of the hot tub mermaids pictures. "You showed him those?" He didn't sound upset at all, just slightly embarrassed--if the hand he threw over his face was any indication. He was still smiling, though.
no subject
"What would you like to drink?"
He was going through the house and making the honors as if he lived here... which he kind of did. He and Jirou spent as much time at each other's place than in their own homes.
"Those were pretty pictures," he added almost as an afterthought.
no subject
He looked over at Kenta and waved his hand as he went to the bar of his kitchen to sit on one of the stools. "Surprise me! And FaiFai likes sweeter drinks!"
He smiled and then waved for Fai to come sit with him.
"Isn't Kenta handsome?"
no subject
At least Fai was sure that Kenta was safe. Jirou was one of his best friends, and Kenta was his best friend--and Jirou had already offered to ask Kenta to accompany Fai, if Fai wanted to attend Jirou's drag shows. Kenta seeing the pictures of them being silly and drunk in full makeup wasn't the end of the world by a long shot.
He moved over to stand next to Jirou, rather than sit, and threw his arms around his friend, not so much possessively as simply lazy and comfortable with each other. He stood like this and eyed Kenta as the much taller man raided the liquor cabinet.
"Mm, he sure is! You have good taste in friends, mon lapin!"
no subject
He was dressed in designer jeans and a simple gray T-shirt that had probably cost more than most of the bottles he was currently looking through. His watch too looked like it probably had cost the price of reasonably sized family SUV. His hair was held back in a simply high ponytail, but it looked to be about as long as Jirou's if not longer, because even like that it easily went down past his waist.
Kenta selected some plum wine for Fai, pouring the umeshuu his family had sent him into a wide glass with some ice. For Jirou, it was sake and for himself the bottom of a bottle of vodka they'd apparently neglected to finish earlier.
He came to sit at the bar as well, putting the drinks down and then absentmindedly reaching so he could re-pin some of Jirou's hair up that had escaped earlier.
no subject
"I do have good taste in friends! That's why you're my friend too, FaiFai!"
Jirou laughed and gave Fai's cheek a kiss, ever the affectionate one. It was just something he couldn't help!
"We should all have dinner together!"
no subject
He grinned at the kiss from Jirou and reached for the glass Kenta brought him with a grateful smile. "Thanks, to both of you! I'm just happy to have so many sweet people in my life!"
It was certainly a nice change from all those years of pushing people away. Maybe he was starting to get his life together after all.
"Oooh, you're right! I can make something, if you're in the mood for anything special?"
no subject
Kenta perked up a little at the mention of food. He'd been so busy lately meals had been an afterthought. "If you can cook, I'm sure we can find something in the fridge and cupboards... unless the shopping hasn't been done. I know Suzuki-san always has stuff ready at my house so we can go there if needed."
Neither Jirou nor Kenta did their own shopping and cooking, so hunting for food in either of their places could be an adventure if whoever was in charge hadn't done it.
"I can eat just about anything. I'm not picky."
no subject
A pause then...
"Uhhhhh...I wonder if mommy sent the people over to restock my food yet..." What day were they supposed to come again? Tomorrow maybe?
no subject
...which turned into Fai trying very hard to suppress that same grin at the realization that his two very rich, very good-looking friends were also kind of helpless in some regards. He'd already known Jirou couldn't cook (and was still planning to teach him to make something to surprise Kenta) but having people to do their shopping for them....
"I'll see what I can find," was all he said on the matter. He downed the rest of the glass of yummy plum wine and sat the glass back on the bar, and pulled his other arm away from Jirou so he could cross over to the fridge. "Any allergies, anything anybody really hates? I don't like fish, myself, but depending on what you've got...." He let the thought trail off as he opened the fridge and leaned down to inspect the contents.

Kenta knew the schedule better than Jirou at this point, but just because they'd come by didn't mean the food hadn't been consumed already. Although Jirou had eaten at his place a lot this week, so hopefully there was still something usable.
"Anything is fine, I'm not picky... but fish is a strange dislike."
Being Japanese, Kenta ate some variation of fish almost everyday, from raw to cooked for hours in a soup. It was one of those food that he wasn't sure how anyone could live without.
"Make something you like, it'll be fine. If you need anything else, we can just go to my place and grab it. I think my kitchen is better stocked than Jirou's because my caretaker lives in my place. She shops more regularly than the food deliveries here."
no subject
"Want more wine while you cook, FaiFai?"
He was needing to get up to get more sake so he could pour him more wine while he was at it.
no subject
More wine sounded like an excellent idea--being around Jirou so often was really not helping the fact that Fai already liked to drink a little too often.
"Sure! I-- Actually, that's a great idea! Can I have the bottle? I could make plum wine chicken!"
no subject
He also was not going to be the reasonable one with regards to alcohol. He drank quite a lot of it himself and his tolerance was pretty high.
"Honestly, most of what people call Japanese food in restaurants here is appalling."
Kenta had tried to have sushi delivered once, before he'd given up on it.
no subject
After pouring some of the wine for Fai, he handed the bottle over to him.
"Plum wine chicken sounds amazing! What else is going to be with it?"
no subject
Gathering ingredients from the fridge, Fai set an armload of different things down on the counter and then turned his attention to the cabinets, poking around for the right combination of dishes and pans. He accepted the glass of wine gratefully and downed another generous gulp, then took the bottle from Jirou.
"Peppers and onions, I think. And maybe some pasta on the side, if anyone's really hungry?"
no subject
Being an NBA student meant Kenta didn't spend much time on campus so he's met rather few other students apart from those in his own program.
As Fai started to organize the ingredients, Kenta thought impolite to ask.
" Do you need some help?"
no subject
But otherwise he was good here. Yep.
Most useful person right here.
no subject
"Ah, you probably don't get over to my side of campus very often," Fai said with an apologetic smile. "I'm taking some psychology classes at the moment." He left it at that, not really answering the question at all, and busied himself with preparations for dinner.
"Mm? Sure, you can help if you like!" He smiled at the offer. "Do you want to handle the peppers while I work on the chicken?"
no subject
"Yes, the health and psychology departments have their own buildings, right? I used to have a few classes in the area as an undergrad, but not anymore. I bet you and your classmates will have no shortage of work, too, if that tjing with Retrospec keeps spreading."
He took another sip of his drink and got up to move around the bar to the kitchen area... and then stood there for a moment.
"You'll have to show me how to ... handle them. I've never done it before."
no subject
He rested his chin on his hand but was smiling. Basically he wanted Fai to know things were safe if he wanted to talk but that he didn't have to. No one here was going to force him to say a single thing if he didn't want to. Safety meant being there even if one didn't want to say anything, after all.
"Kenta is good with a sword though. Can you imagine me with a sword?"
no subject
As Jirou spoke Fai paused and blushed slightly. He knew Jirou well enough to know it wasn't meant to be criticism, but he still felt bad that he'd even entertained the idea that Jirou's friend would be so petty. "I'm a social worker," he confessed, shrugging. "It's not the most glamorous job, but I enjoy it. I'm taking classes to get my master's while I work."
He didn't seem fazed that Kenta didn't know what to do when it came to cooking. Cleaning and cutting peppers was easy enough, it would be a good exercise for someone inexperienced. "No problem! Here, I'll show you the first one and you can do the rest." He grabbed one of the peppers and a knife, and motioned for Kenta to stand next to him at the cutting board he'd laid out.
...and snorted at Jirou's question, though he was still smiling. "I think you're super talented at what you do already, maa~aybe you'd better leave the swords to your friend here~"
no subject
"A job doesn't have to be glamorous to be meaningful. People like you are doing a lot of good, and that's what matters."
If anything, he was wondering what Fai would say once he learned how Kenta's family had gotten all that money. It wasn't really that glamorous, and most of it was illegal, after all.
He watched the demonstration with the pepper attentively. It did seem rather simple indeed, and while his first attempt was a little botched, the second one was decidedly better.
Kenta shook his head with a smile as Jirou started extolling about his skill with a sword.
"I've never even held a sword, Jirou. Only shinai and practice wooden swords. they don't let us use real swords in Kendo."

Remembering making sushi. Remembering being divine and needing alcohol to stay divine. Remembering killing people... They sort of all didn't seem to go together as far as he could tell.
Watching his friends, he pondered what Kenta would look like with a sword. Honestly it seemed like a normal one would just be too small for him. Pouting his lips a little, he tried hard to picture it anyway just because he thought Kenta might look like a cool action hero with one.
"Hm? So no swords for me unless I'm sober?"
no subject
"That's right, you had the sushi memory too, didn't you?" Fai and Jirou had both been pretty tipsy at the time they'd discussed that one, but it had been an odd enough memory that Fai couldn't forget it altogether. "You're right, I'm not really sure how that fits in with the one about being divine... but at least they're both pretty good!"
If Fai had been drinking he might have choked at Jirou's continuing insistence on needing a sword. Thankfully his hands were too gross right at the moment to reach for his glass of wine. "How about no swords at all?" he laughed. "Unless we somehow have another invasion of giant bugs, and then... nope, not even then. Sorry sweetie!" Keeping the sharp objects away from his drunken friend seemed like the best option overall.
no subject
It wasn't like they were in a state of war and even if they had been there were more effective method.
"I guess I could teach you to dance with knives if you wanted to but I don't think any of the club you contract with would let you do that on stage."
He kept cleaning and cutting up the peppers with precise gestures, following Fai's instructions. He was pretty good at it now.
"Anything else?"
no subject
"But if I did have a sword then it would have to be smaller than Kenta's. That's the rule."
One he'd apparently just made up on the spot but he was rolling with it.
