Good Morning, Mr Hunt (Closed)
WHO: Chloe, Mohammed, Victoria & Leo
WHERE: Recolle History Museum
WHEN: 6/16
WHAT: Invasive and Questionably legal investigations
WARNINGS: I'm still abusing Mission Impossible theme songs?
Chloe had only two knives on her person today. The purpose of this little venture was not to hurt anyone, if at all possible. And, if Mohammed could keep his end of the bargain up, they wouldn't need to so much as lift a finger against the staff at the History Museum. None of the security there, and the majority of the staff probably had done nothing wrong, so she didn't want to see anyone hurt. Still, it didn't hurt to be prepared just in case.
She was wrapped in her cloak as usual, a large fanny pack holding most of the tools she was going to need while she waited for the text signal to enter into the building. Daylight hours were more troublesome on so many grounds, and there would be more staff, even close to closing as they were. However, it made sure that Mohammed could do his job and keep people distracted. She and Leo just had to be quiet getting downstairs.
She knew, roughly, what to expect from the room's security that they were going towards. It was what was inside that she didn't know for sure about.
Internally, she was terrified at the thought of getting caught, but there was also something... exhilarating about this whole thing, and hauntingly familiar.

Victoria/Mohammed -- Distraction
What they needed was for the two of them to maintain a distraction so that security wouldn't have a reason to be anywhere near those doors when the two passed through. That was the most important thing. How they did it? Chloe wasn't especially fussed with, and there were plenty of options. She had a feeling they could wing it ok, especially since an employee and a guest made a perfect combination for a distraction for security.
So, off went the text. 'Now.' She'd made sure they knew the number that she was using, so they knew the source and purpose of the sudden text.
(OOC: Note - Chloe won't reply here unless you contact me. This is for the two of you on the upstairs level.)

It was the best excuse Mohammed had for the security guards to stay away from the doors long enough for Chloe and Leo to get in. He would have to write a report on his findings as a coverup, but he had to be thankful that at least he picked a topic of his interest.
"How long will it take to transport all of these books?" He eyes the box labeled "FRAGILE" in the guard's hands.
"Depends on how quick we can find them. We'll line them up on carts and we'll help you transport them to the working room."
Mohammed nodded, following the man inside and pointing out the documents he wanted. When he was sure that he wasn't being watched, he sent a text back to the others.
'Almost done getting the books out. Will leave in a few minutes.'
Leo/Chloe - Breaking In
Chloe motioned as soon as she saw an opening without anyone guarding the entrance into the basement and made her move, slipping on a pair of gloves and checking the door. This one, thankfully, they had a key for even if only for today. She opened it and nodded for Leo to go in first, eyes watching the briefly empty hallway warily. No sounds... for now.

And there was no one around, at least not yet. So far, so good. He felt antsy, though, and didn’t want to stay in one place for too long. There may only be one direction to go, but instead of going for it, he gave Chloe a questioning look. It was her idea, so she should be the one to lead the way.
(Besides, he didn't really know exactly which direction to go.)

Stalking forward, she moved up towards the first turn, listening either way before reaching into her pouch and offering the blacklight back to him. He'd probably be the one who needed it long before she would. At first, no sounds. None of the curators were down here just yet, just as they'd hoped. the real risk was probably going to come when they were getting out. Once she had a look down the hallway, she beckoned for him to take the lead down there, wanting to watch, to listen to make sure it was quiet until the got to the archive door.

It was almost like a video game, he thought idly as they crouched behind one crate and snuck over to the next. Chloe must have been a big fan of those stealth and strategy games, judging from how she moved and… is that a blacklight? Okay, wow, she was prepared for this. Though surprised, Leo took it without question and carefully tucked it into his tool belt for later.
And with the all clear, he headed down the hallway, moving as quickly as he dared. There was no sign of anyone on duty, at least not yet, but he didn’t want the tools he’d brought to start clanking around before they’d found what they were here for. It didn’t even look like this hall was guarded - all the better for them - but that couldn’t be all there was to it. There had to be some security measures. He sent a glance back over his shoulder, but shook off his uncertainty and kept moving forward. It wouldn’t help to hesitate now that they were here.

If there was anything obvious, maybe they could use it to get into the door, though she already was expecting to use the duct to sneak in. First, though, she had to be absolutely sure that there wasn't anyone on the inside, waiting to come out. 'Awkward' couldn't even begin to describe it.
Once she was sure, she glanced over at him. "If you know a way to get past this, I am pretty sure this is a little more advanced than the old fashioned method for getting past it. Maybe we can guess if there aren't many finger prints..." Odds weren't good, but it was worth a shot.

“It’s basic statistics, but even with just four numbers, there’s like ten thousand combinations,” he answered, frowning. “We could try and break through, but they might have an alarm set if we get it wrong. I’d definitely program one, if I’d set this up myself.”
He shook his head. “Trying to find the code would be too risky if you want to get in unnoticed. There’s got to be another way.”

"There's a ventilation duct there, small enough for me to squeeze through. I'll keep a lookout if you get the screws out so I can crawl in." She pointed to it, just over on the ceiling of the hallway. Stepping away from the door, she went up ahead to the crates in the hall, crouching behind them.
She really wasn't looking forward to it, not at full size, but she could get through it, and it was a short distance.

After dragging one of the lighter crates over so he could reach the duct, he wasted no time. A few of the screws were in pretty tight, but Leo didn’t let that stop him, catching each one and slipping them into a pocket as he worked. The last few went a little slower while he held the cover up, but once they were out he was careful about lowering it without making too much noise. Once he’d stepped off the crate and set the vent cover down, he looked at Chloe and gave her a little flourishing gesture toward the vent.
“Right this way, ma’am.”

With a short hop, she caught the lip and hauled herself up and into the duct. There were sounds of her going through it, working her way towards the ventilation. They'd need to put the grate back, to make sure that nothing was out of place. It was risky if something went wrong, but she wasn't taking chances.
Once she reached the ventilation duct into the room, she reached down and began unscrewing it from the inside. A little trickier, but she could pull it off, and in case any of the screws disappeared, she'd brought a few extras. Plan ahead...

“No one ever wears hair nets in the movies,” Leo muttered to himself as he dug his out of a pocket and pulled it on. As for the gloves - it had taken him a while to find some clean ones lying around, but eventually he’d scrounged up a pair from deep within a work closet. All prepared, he settled behind a crate wait, occasionally remembering to glance around the corner to see if anyone would approach. He had no idea how long it would take for Chloe to let him in, but he didn’t want to be caught off guard while he was alone out here.

There were a few sounds from the other side of the door while she was working her way out, and it probably took long enough to make most people nervous before there was a click and the door opened. An eye checked out and then opened quickly, Chloe beckoning to the open hallway for him to come in.
"Quickly. I think there will be a guard pass-through in the hall before they get too close to closing. We shouldn't be in sight."
