WHAT: Researching blueprints, discussing plans to investigate further, plotting of a more clandestine nature.

Chloe, as she had told a few people, was easily found during her off hours at the public library in Recolle. She wasn't hard to find, though she'd backed herself in against a wall, so that she could see anyone who happened to be approaching and conceal some of the things that she was looking at if she didn't know them for certain.

Anyone happening across her was going to find architectural books and drafting books around her (two of them at least yellow-bound and labeled 'for Dummies.'). She seemed to be looking over a set of blueprints, though only two of the documents were really of importance to her, both hidden until she was sure someone was a person she knew as they approached. The rest were there for practice.

She was doing a lot of frowning today, but didn't seem to be in too bad of a mood, just very busy, and a little cagey. Thankfully it was a quiet enough part of the library that a low whisper could be heard without bothering any patrons. It was a beautiful, gray day outside. People weren't usually in the library on days like this.

She waved to Koutarou, waiting for him to come in closer and speaking in a low voice. "Ah, hello Koutarou. How are you today?" It was nice to see him, pretty much anytime, so she was more than happy to offer him a chair. "What brings you to the library?"

“I’m alright, I guess. The sky is disturbing, still, but otherwise it’s fine.” Some confusing thoughts due to memories as usual, but that’s to be expected by now. He takes the seat offered to him. “I came to have a look at various birds. What about you?”

"I am researching drafting at the moment, to see if I can read this blueprint." She reached down to tap the one that was right in front of her. It was the one with the retrospec logo, just a photocopy of a fragment of a blueprint, but still... it was something. "It's not terribly easy, I admit, without the whole thing to look at. What sorts of birds?"

“Drafting?” He actually doesn’t know what that is, but he figures it out more or less while he listens and watches. “Even part of it seems better than nothing.” And they have a whole lot of nothing on Retrospec.

“Some that do not contain, well, those colors, you know? I’m trying to avoid the reminder at the moment.”

"Yes, the art of reading and drawing a blueprint, or something similar." It was the only way to get what little she could from the ... well, blueprint she was reading.

"Hmmm, what about a cardinal? we are north enough to find those, yes?"

“I see... Is it going any well?” It seems complicated, to him.

“Are we? Despite the time I have spent here I know far too little about what lives here naturally. Perhaps they could be suitable.”

"As well as can be expected, since I have to come in my off hours from work, and only barely understand the concepts. But I think I'm learning something at least." She sighed and rubbed her fingers against her temple.

"Oh, America? Cardinals are sort of everywhere. They're pretty, but they are a bit like the sky rats. Pigeons. Not as prevalent, but enough you might find one."

“It’s not possible to check out these books?” Some are not, as far as he knows. Some books, the library wants to keep under lock and key, so to speak.

“They are? That is good to know.” He can’t really help but chuckle a little at the comparison. “A lot of people actually think that of cats, in places like Tokyo. They are everywhere, there.”

"I am sure that it is. I plan to check out one of them on my way home today, but I'd rather come here. My cat will get all over them as I try to take notes." Nadia was not the most well behaved little kitten. Not at all.

"There are quite a few around, yes. I picked up a stray recently myself. She's a cute one, but still quite willful."

“Oh, that makes sense. She likes to participate in what you’re doing, does she?” He knows Daisuke likes being around Togusa as much as possible when he’s with his dog, and has seen similar things with other people and their pets, so he can see that.

“I don’t think they’re as abundant or as calm and eager to approach people here as they are there but there are a fair amount of them here despite that, isn’t there?”

"Well, she likes to try and assert her dominance whenever I am home," she admitted. They were having a nice, long little tet a tet as they determined who was boss, and Chloe had no intention of losing. She'd already had enough trouble when she was small to be willing to let the cat rule her life.

"Yes, quite a few, but I suppose you are right, and it is nothing like the rabbits on rabbit island. Have you ever seen pictures?"

“Ah, so that’s how it is.” Cats are dominant animals, and don’t like to follow as much as dogs do, so that makes sense.

He shakes his head. “No, I haven’t.” Is it anything like cat island, where they are literally everywhere? There are several cat island in Japan but not all of them are like Tashirojima where feeding a stray is believed to bring wealth and good fortune.

"Yes... though I'm not surprised at all. After all, we met when I was small. She thinks I'm food," she said, laughing. "It's taking a while to get her to know who is boss."

"There are rabbits everywhere. It is the most adorable thing you have ever seen, though the reason is a bit creepy. It used to be a weapons testing site. I think they released rabbits there as karma for having used them in testing long ago. Now it's the rabbit's island."

"At least it won't be as easy for her to try to eat you, if she decides to." The bigger size should help with that.

"Well, rabbits are certainly enjoyable to draw, and very soft to pet." He likes most animals by default, but he particularly enjoys petting the soft ones, and any animal that doesn't mind him drawing them for a couple hours. "That sounds a little....um...bizarre."

"Basically impossible," she said, laughing. "And she will learn that I am now in charge, and will take care of her soon enough."

"I've seen videos before. It's both adorable and quite bizarre. A sort of karmic victory, but a very strange one to say the least. It's their island now. We're just allowed to visit."

"Cats are clever, even if they're decisive, so it should probably not tale all that long."

But that is interesting though. Bizarre, but interesting. "I think I would like to see videos of that at some point."

She laughed and offered him a video link via her phone. The grin on her face widened as she did. "All you have to do is type 'bunny island' onto youtube searches. You'll see more rabbits than anyone can handle."

"Youtube... Right, I've heard of that..." He has friends who shows him a lot of videos but he's personally really far behind on these sort of stuff. He watches the video with wide eyes. "That really is a lot of rabbits."

She was a little behind too, but she'd had her friends showing her enough that she was finally starting to pick it up. "Aren't there? They're all over the place. Apparently it was just five originally, back in the sixties. I guess it's true what they say, they bred like rabbits."
