young enough to make mistakes
WHO: Aki and Sakura
WHERE: Tisse, Munch and Crunch
WHEN: May 21
WHAT: Sakura gathered up her skirts and asked Aki out on a date.
WARNINGS: Two gals being pals.
[ This was Sakura's first real date.
It was a slightly terrifying prospect.
While Aki had always been a chill person, Sakura had been on her toes all day. After she secretly dropped the polaroid at her house, she immediately began looking through all her outfits to find one that said "cute but not desperate". When she finally got the reply via text, her stomach was all a flutter and it gave her the gumption to settle on a cute decora number and a pink cardigan.
This was good. Aki said yes, which was more than she was expecting. She didn't call her a weirdo either, which was always a plus. Part of her was really worried about that.
So Sakura appeared at Munch and Crunch about ten minutes early, awkwardly hovering outside the front door. She had her phone out and was absently tapping away at a mobile game, very much lost in her own thoughts. ]

That being said when she does turn up, she does seem glad to see Sakura again. She greets her with a wave.]
Hey. Didn't keep you waiting long, did I?
no subject
There was a little thought at the back of her head that she might have been ditched. But she wasn't going to think about that when in Destiny Grandiose/Order, she nearly beat Horny Nun's unnerfed form.
The final blow was dealt by Meltykiss after a well time use of her ultimate. It felt fitting - Meltykiss was drowning in the lake of pleasure as she tried to find herself and her heart and then... she heard a voice. ]
Oh! No... I was just...
[ she holds up her phone ]
I beat Horny Nun unnerfed, so it must have been a while, huh?
no subject
[Well, colour her impressed. She even steps closer to get a better look at her team as the victory screen rolls on.]
...why'd you use kiss? You could've saved a bunch of turns with a better team, you know.
tfw your rp character probably has a better fgo team than you
[ admitted Sakura bashfully as she stood up, putting her phone away in her pocket. ]
Hi.
[ now she's flushed slightly red as she looks at Aki. she turned up. That meant that Aki definitely wasn't pulling her along, right? ]
Shall we go in?
but does sakura have moekita souji
[She nods, then follows along as the pair of them go inside. So long as Sakura doesn't have any objections Aki is gonna pick the booth they sit at; it's near the corner of the restaurant, but at the same time is by a window, giving a view of people passing by outside.]
So it depends on what you like, but their specialty is the deep fried burger. I'd recommend that since it's your first time here.
no she's more of an altria pendragonia type
Sure... I'll get that.
[ sakura's a little nervous as she sits in the booth with her hands in her lap and it shows ]
if they make that official im gonna three stage thrust nasu to death
Once the waitress has taken down their orders and gone over to get them, Aki leans forward a bit curiously.]
By the way, is everything okay? You seem...distracted or something.
no subject
[ she offers tentatively, switching to Japanese because Sakura has pretty much gone on autopilot by this point. ]
I had a weird memory! You know how you remembered that whole ice cream event? I remember being able to use a special sword! It was a katana of some sort and... I was good at it. I think good enough to kill people.
[ And she goes even redder. Poor Sakura, her head might explode by this point. ]
Aaaah! I'm sorry!
[ she's buried her head into the table ]
Can you tell.... I've never been on a date before...
no subject
Well.
That explains it, she's just nervous. Nerves can only be conquered by getting Sakura's focus off of the fact this is a Date and try to normalise the situation.
So she reaches forward and taps Sakura's shoulder.]
Do you want to talk about the memory you had?
no subject
[ starts Sakura with a little bit of hesitation. But as soon as she starts talking, it spills out a bit more. ]
I've held swords before. But I felt like the sword was a part of me, like it was an extension of my limbs. And the sword was special. I felt like I could cut the very air with it...
[ She takes a deep breath, her hands folded in her lap. ]
I think I was able to kill someone with a sword. Like a samurai.
no subject
That sounds exactly like the 'you' from my memory. My first one.
I wasn't a slouch with my sword by any means, but I got the feeling you were a lot better than I was...if that really was you, I think you could have amazing potential, Sakura.
no subject
I dunno. I don't know what to make of it, so I'm not gonna think about it!
[ She shakes her head adamantly ]
Nuh-uh. Instead I'm gonna think about...
[ And Sakura will shyly make eye contact with Aki. ]
no subject
[In contrast she's not particularly shy herself, so she doesnt have much of an issue returning the look.]
I think it's better if we live in the now, anyway. Whoever we were doesn't really dictate who we are now.
no subject
[ Before she gets a chance to continue, the waitress arrives with all their food. Aki ordered two sodas, two orders of fries and two deep fried burgers. Once it's set on the table, Sakura looks at the crispy burger with a little bit of hesitation, hesitantly poking hers. ]
My arteries are clogging up looking at it...
no subject
She looks fairly amused by Sakura's reaction, picking up her own burger rather naturally.]
One won't kill you. I'm proof of that.
[She lives a very unhealthy lifestyle...]
What do you say, then? On three?
[They can take a bite at the same time...for confidence!!]
no subject
[ she picks up the burger wrapper and looks at the burger inside. It oozes slightly with fat and cheese. Both appetizing and kinda gross. ]
One... two...
no subject
...after she's swallowed her bite, of course. Something this good has to be savoured, not rushed.]
Well?
no subject
It's tasty!
[ you can practically see the satisfied sparkles radiating from her ]
This is so good. I can't have more than one but it's so good!
no subject
[She could look a little less smug though, it's not as if she made it...]
The power of fast food isn't to be underestimated.
[All substance, very little style.]
no subject
In between a huge slurp of her drink, she looks up at Aki. ]
But now that I think about it, you'd never find something like this in Japan. It would be weirder.
no subject
[Sakura wouldn't know considering Aki makes every attempt to shut down conversation about her home life, but she was a rich girl growing up...fast food was strictly off limits.
But it's kinda showing right now. It probably looks strange even, considering how her diet is primarily fast food in America. God knows how she's alive.]
What's different about it?
no subject
[ She stops munching on a chip to look at Aki. ]
You've never had fast food in Japan?
[ her eyes go really wide at this. considering aki is like the junk food connoisseur between the two of them, she's surprised she's never had any in her home country. ]
no subject
[She said something weird, didn't she?
Hmm.]
Well? What's different about it?
no subject
[ Sakura promptly wipes her hands before taking her phone out again. There's a bit of frantic googling, but after a minute she plops the phone on the table between them. ]
Look at this.
[ she scrolls through the following images - a burger that had everything, a pizza covered in mayo, a kit kat pizza and an "american size" whopper made for the release of a new OS. Pictures were definitely better than words when it came to this. ]
no subject
...I can't believe what I was missing out on.
[She'd definitely try the kitkat one...
And the others, but that one caught her attention the fastest of them all.]
no subject
Yeah. I think people like novelty, so fast foods do lots of promo items... its weird, but it means you'll never get bored.
[ she takes the final bits of her burger and finishes it. licking the sauce off her fingers. ]
it's like...
[ she says as she licks some of the cheese sauce from her hand. ]
If someone can imagine it, they'll sell it and make it.
no subject
[She'd been going at a slower pace than Sakura, so she's still picking away at her fries in the meantime.]
no subject
[ Sakura actually contemplates this question with a level of seriousness that one doesn't normally expect from her. ]
I don't like salty flavours so much. But I'll happily try all the weird sweets!
no subject
Like dumping a ton of chocolate into a bag of chips. You've done that, right?
[Say it ain't so, Sakura.]
