WHERE: Groceries and related stores in Chata, Recollé Public Library (& University library), Cabin Eleven, Recollé Square, out and about
WHEN: 15th-22nd
WHAT: Ren can't pretend things are normal, and he's taking it out on people. And also having an existential crisis.
WARNINGS: Obvious anger management issues. Something that may be mistaken for suicidal thoughts? No for-real ones though.

It probably doesn't look too good, that a tall man who's clearly been in a fight recently is yelling at service person. Yes, today he's going to be That Guy. What is he yelling about? Prices for some basic food being too high, or the store being out of something, or a special offer being printed wrong—does it really matter? He's getting way too angry over it, and someone should probably step in before it escalates. Or maybe you work at some sort of grocery store and are the one getting yelled at? He needs to be told to chill and probably leave, either way...

[B: Library]

When he's not yelling at helpless store clerks, Ren can be found at the libraries—or rather, one can find him unapologetically bumping right into someone, and/or snapping at them to get out of his way. He's not raising his voice, at least, because he doesn't want to get kicked out, but that doesn't mean he's going to be polite, unfortunately.

When he's not harassing people, he's sitting somewhere, reading the books he's picked out—reincarnation is what he's looking for, so it's mostly religious and philosophical books. ... though at times he may also fall asleep face down in one of those books.

Part of the time, he does research on the public computers, but he can be found growling when the Retrospec application just happens to pop up out of nowhere. In some cases he even gets frustrated enough to pound his fist onto the desk, just once. At least he isn't breaking anything?

Your standard "come bug him" option. Ren can be found moping in the corner at Cabin Eleven while drinking the cheapest shit there, lying obnoxiously in the middle of the park in Recollé Square and squinting at the sky, or standing around in the city glaring at random passersby and the buildings he once thought were normal. Maybe he's standing on a bridge somewhere and scowling over the edge. That could easily look pretty bad for a guy who's got bandages on his face, bags under his eyes, and a set of clothes that look sort of shabby...

[ Had this happened during the days he actively practiced, he would have probably done a smoother job of landing that roll but when you’re rusty you’re rusty. The fight he got involved in to get Yato out of trouble told him he was a little rusty (but not as rusty at he had thought, honestly). ]

I forgot to stop walking, it sort of happens sometimes.

Maybe using a bit of common sense should "sort of happen sometimes."

[Despite the comment, Ren does actually reach over to retrieve the dropped sketchbook, blowing the grass off of it and glancing at whatever Koutarou was drawing in the process. He's not typically all that nosy, given how secretive about himself he is, but there are times he forgets his manners.]

It does, those things just take the backseat when I'm inspired.

[ He doesn't mind people looking at his sketches but it would just be nice if he asked first... ]

Uh-huh.

[He gives the man a dull stare before holding out the pad, not exactly impressed that anthropomorphic fish were what brought the lack of attention span. You can draw whatever weird shit you want, but if you're going to trip over him it should at least be over something significant!]

Sometimes it’s nice to draw something silly.

Sometimes it's nice not getting tripped over.

[He's not judging the quality, but he's not letting this go, either, despite the fact that Koutarou already apologized.]

What exactly "inspired" you to draw that kind of thing, anyway. [Sadly, Ren does not have the biggest imagination.]

[ He has already said sorry for it, but he has no problems apologizing again. ]

I passed a pet store with fishes in the window, and it was right next to one of those souvenir shops. That’s, about it.

[ He can get inspiration from absolutely anything. Even from a simple pothole in the road. ]

I guess they do look like something you'd find in one of those shops.

[He'll... give Koutarou that at least? But he sticks his hands in his pockets, the slight scowl still on his face. (It's just sort of how he looks most of the time.)]

So what, are you an art student?

But then he shakes his head with a smile. ]

I was until a few years ago. Now I'm a painter and a part-time art teacher.

A teacher.

[That someone so clumsy would try to teach is a bit... well, Ren is dubious.]

At what school, exactly? [So he knows which institution to judge.]

At the university.

[ He does teach at the elementary school too, but it’s not as often. ]

Really.

[He sounds incredulous, folding his arms as he scrutinizes the other man, looking him up and down. When he thinks of universities, he thinks of professors, and this guy definitely doesn't fit the image. Though he supposes there are usually some of those who are the more eccentric types, aren't there?]

Color me surprised. [Art jokes.]

[ Koutarou smiles, though he senses the doubt and hears the tone of his voice very easily. ]

Really. I suppose I’m not very teacher-like.

[ But that job actually just...sort of happened. ]

I suppose it makes more sense you'd teach there rather than the lower level.

[Ren's not exactly the best with children, but someone this airheaded shouldn't be in charge of people who can't take care of themselves.]

Try to watch where you're going next time.
