WHAT: Izuku won a fancy dinner with guests at the Food Truck Rally and it's time to cash in on it.
WARNINGS: None.


[The restaurant is large, with three interconnecting rooms making up it's dining room. There is a mixture of booth seating as well as chairs, with the later populating the middle of the rooms in rows. Ornate lighting fixtures hang over every table, and sets of silverware lay waiting to be used. On the walls tasteful art pieces hang. There isn't a strict dress code, but this place is clearly fancy enough to require a bit of sprucing up in the wardrobe department.]

[Izuku tugs on the blue tie wrapped around his neck, suddenly wishing his mother hadn't tied it quite so tight. His body feels hot and constricted in the formal suit his mom had insisted he wear. He knew the restaurant is one of the fanciest places in town, but he's sure they would have let him in even if he were wearing jeans and a button-up shirt. But he also knows that it's not the clothes that have him getting so worked up. It's nerves.

What if they don't show up? What if they do? What if he says something stupid and none of them ever talk to him again? What if he embarrasses himself in front of Anya? All these questions spin through his head in rapid fire. He's just about ready to step outside and get some air when he notices one of his guest walking in.

Forcing a smile, he approaches them.]

H-hey! I'm glad you could come.

[constellates]

[Anya loves dressing up.

Today is no different, though her usual sense of style received a small upgrade. She's right at home with her heels, dress, and cardigan like any girl who's waited years to feel like a princess - and though she showed up arm in arm with Yuri - she's immediately letting go once she sees Izuku waiting inside.]

Izuku! Cпасибо! Thank you for inviting me.

[He starts sweating even more when he sees Anya; she's definitely looking the part of a princess, and even seems to have a prince on her arm. Izuku tries to fight down the disappointment he feels seeing Anya and Yuri arm-in-arm and attempts to smile.

Are they together? Anya hasn't said anything about it to him.]

Of course! You're one of my g-good friends. [Even though he's like to be more.] Thank you for inviting Yuri for me. I'm glad you both came.

[ karkat is definitely not dressed as fancily as izuku is, but he also does not really own that much super nice attire and he did not want to go out and buy something just for a dinner? but his outfit is, at least, good enough so that he would be allowed in and not get annoyed stares from the staff. well, they might stare at the horns.

when he walks up, he just waves at the other teen. ]

Who would say no to free food?

Y-yeah, I was hoping that would be a good selling point.

[Izuku wouldn't have cared if Karkat has shown up in jeans and a t-shirt. He would have been inclined to do the same, but his mother had insisted that he dress up properly for the establishment. Mostly, he's just happy to see that his friend could make it.]

Do you know the others? I can introduce you to them if you don't. Everyone is really nice.

[Maya feels pretty comfortable in a place like this. She's been to many a formal or business dinner when she was younger with her parents, and while isn't dressed up too fancy, she at least has a fairly professional looking white blouse and long black skirt on.

She waves as she arrives, grinning.]

Thanks a lot for letting us come! This place is really nice!

[While note as close to Maya as he is to some of his other guests, he's still glad to see her. She's helped him on more than one occasion and he hopes that this dinner will be a good way to thank her.]

Of course. I was allowed to have so many guests, it would have been a waste not to invite anyone. And you all have been really kind to me...

[It's a restaurant she's never been to before - that's the first thing she notices. Anya's eyes are bright with curiosity and interest even as she adjusts the cardigan on her shoulders, giggling softly to herself before turning to whoever's close by and offering a smile - ]

Kirakira... It is like everything is sparkling? Do you see?

[It's so pretty and she loves it. What girl doesn't want to feel like a princess?? Even Anya's normally elegant sense of style received an upgrade - and she goes out of her way to dress nicely in the first place.]

( Yuri had his jacket tossed over his shoulder, a collection of forget-me-nots in hand. The vest of his three piece suit kept him looking appropriately fancy, even with his sleeves rolled back, his red bow tie tucked into his chest pocket. Catching sight of Anya on the sidewalk heading toward the restaurant, he grinned: the flowers (cut this time instead of yanked out of the ground) were a joke meant primarily for her. He caught up with her in front of the restaurant, calling out her name. )

Anya!

( Following a more sensible form with pet names than she ever does, he gave her a half bow, offering the flowers with a devil-may-care grin. )

[ . . . okay hold on, he brought her flowers. He can't be too mad. There's a moment where she stops, blinking in confusion because why is he doing this when he makes such a fuss about romantic-coded things.

This is it. This is the duality of man.

But whatever, Anya rolls with it like she rolls with most things. With a little bit of a laugh and she takes the flowers, answering in Russian before she can think better of it.]

[Spasiba spasiba.... And she'll take the flowers, taking one to tuck into her hair braid, and while he's half-bowed, placing one behind his ear.]

[Rachel turns towards Anya, a wide smile on her face.]

It is pretty great, yeah! ... Ah, this is the first time we've met in person, I think! My name's Rachel, we talked on Retrospec once!

[Oh - Anya smiles, recognizing the other girl from her profile icon on the app. There's a nod.]

Ah! I remember. Привет. Hello - I did not know that you knew Izuku too.

[ karkat is also dressed more nicely than usual. slacks instead of jeans, a button up instead of a hoodie or t-shirt. unfortunately, fancy restaurant also means he can't really get away with wearing a hat, so his horns are on display. his hair is a little more messy than it should be in an attempt to hide them better though. ]

There is no way we could afford this normally.

[karkat is here and she loves him. and she's also linking arms with him immediately now that she's wandered off from Yuri. furchat gotta link up and all]

Very fancy! One day, when we are grown and stars, we will pay for a meal like this.

[Maya looks around them, rubbing her chin.] Just looking at this place, you have to almost wonder how expensive the menu is... Heh! If it wasn't a free meal, I'd probably have second thoughts.

Probably better to not look too closely at the prices, really.

[She snaps back to reality as her mind wanders.] Ah, but- probably not what anyone's really thinking about, heh!

[There is a brief laugh at that and she shakes her head.]

Нет. No, it is meant to be free, yes? So do not worry. I think it will be okay. Just look for what you think is most tasty!

[Rachel was a bit nervous. She hadn't expected something like this out of the blue, but... well, she wasn't going to turn it down, either! This was the chance to get out there and interact with people more.

The fanciest clothes she had was the outfit she'd gotten for Founder's Day, so she'd worn that. When she got to the restaurant, she'd been amazed to see just how fancy it was... a sensation that would carry over once they were sitting down.]

Wow... this is all really kind of fantastic, isn't it? I've never even thought about stepping into a place like this!

[It's been awhile since Izuku has spoken to Rachel, despite seeing her around school, on Retrospect or off. So he had been worried that she might not accept his invitation. But the worry quickly turns to relief once he spots her entrance.]

Rachel! T-thanks for coming! And yeah, it's pretty fancy. I'm surprised that they're willing to let all six of us eat for free. [He begins to lead her to the table that has been reserved for them.]

[clear_eyes]

Well, I guess we should be thankful you were so lucky. [She laughs slightly, trying to overcome her nervousness.]

Thank you again for inviting me, by the way.

It doesn't look like they'd normally just let a bunch of teens in here.

[ karkat has seen rachel around at school, but this is the first time he's actually talking to her. he doesn't normally go to gatherings where he does not know everyone involved in it but this is definitely an exception.

also he has horns?? so. ]

... I imagine probably not. I guess that makes this a little more special, doesn't it?

[She pauses for a moment, before continuing. She makes a point to avoid looking like she's staring at his horns.]

You're Karkat, right? I've seen you around school.

[Okay, Maya thought it was super nice that Izuku asked her and various others along on this, but this is MUCH nicer than she expected. Though she's dressed well enough - formal dinners from her parents work meant she had the wardrobe on hand, in this case including a white blouse and a long black skirt - she still feels a little bit out of her element.

Still, she claps her hands together excitedly.] This is really cool...! I bet they can afford super good chefs, too.

[Look, just coming off the rally, food is on her mind.]

[Rachel smiles, waving to Maya as she arrives. Upon hearing what she said, her head tilts a bit.]

You're right. They'd sort of have to, wouldn't they? I'm not sure what to get... I guess just ordering a salad would be a waste, wouldn't it?

[She taps her chin, but nods all the same.] But it kind of would be, here! Come on, live a little!
