WHO: Mochi House (Akira Kurusu, Yusuke Kitagawa, Goro Akechi, and Elliot Craig)

WHEN: backdated to 12/8
WHAT: They went shopping and got teleported by snowflake statues to Magatus. Here, they encounter wintry creatures and the yeti, then have to compete for the best snow~~man~~ sculpture.
WARNINGS: NONE... Will update if anything comes up.

[ They were just on their way to shop for their loved ones, at least the ones that are still in Recolle. While shopping isn't the most exciting thing, going in a big group is, so Akira is rather looking forward to relax after talking to James and cycling through ideas on how to go about investigation.

At least... This was supposed to be a shopping trip. Snowflakes keep spawning on their trip through the mall, eventually blocking their way until they pay them some mind. When they do, in a flash they're taken to a different place. About seven hours away, they're in the familiar Magatus—at least familiar to Akira and Yusuke...

The perpetual northern lights take hold of the sky, but there's something odd about the area. The creatures are out and about like they're in some Christmas movie. As he peeks out of the snow he landed in, he squints at them. ]

... Is that the Coca-Cola polar bear?

[ Akira asks this instead of pointing out the yetis that look at them with such glee. ]

[Elliot, Goro is with you here. Boyfriend and Yusuke can have the honor of being with the yetis. Safe distance away, but he'll tentatively take Elliot's arm. Just to comfort and lead.]

It would seem so. Maybe to make them their brides, which is of more concern to me than you. Was it a troubling memory..?

[ Oh... Are they to be wed to yetis? Akira turns back to his friend in this predicament. ]

[ But in this arena, there's an array of equipment for different types of snow sports and games. It's like they want to play? ]

[ What is their life? But. Oh. Interesting. ]

I wonder if they want to play games...?

[Goro you nice man. Elliot will try to smile reassuringly.

N-No, not really. Just...enlightening. [muttered under his breath] Though I swear my ribs still hurt

[Was it even possible to get hurt by memories? whose to say. But the point is, they should really focus on getting Yusuke and Akira out of their bind, so he's following! ...still slightly from a distance.

The yetis seem to be nodding to Yusuke's assessment. Good you noticed, you are the best of the lot!]

G-Games...? [...] Can we just do the wedding thing instead? That sounds easier.

While I have serious reservations regarding Akira marrying a yeti, if it were his greatest wish I would not stand in the way. However, I'm also quite willing to throw down the glove for his hand.

[Which is contradictory, sure, but bear with him. Mochihouse will have a yeti rug if Akira's status is threatened.]

Games are fine. Are we honorary guests on the cryptid Winter Olympics team?

[ The yetis are trying to explain that it can be any game! Any! Akira holds Yusuke's hand to show that he's here with him in spirit? He guesses?

But he looks around to see if there are any games they can all participate. Sure. Yusuke, Goro, and himself can do the sports that require some brawn, but...

Elliot. ]

Why don't we build snowmen? Most creative is the winner. [ Hmmm. ] We can be in teams, too.

Oh... what a charming idea. Are we including size as a criteria, or just the creativity?

[ He's wiggling to try and get his hands free so he can picture frame the surrounding scenery for the perfect background to his future snowman child. ]

If this counts as a game to them, then I will happily take part in this endeavour.

[Akira you are his hero. Elliot had looked very worried until Akira speaks up. His shoulders loosen up with relief and his eyes light up]

Oh, I like that idea!

[But teams man, gotta move quick-]

Dibs to be on Akira's team!

[Sorry but something tells him being on Yusuke's team will be a trial. Maybe it's the fact he's already framing his fingers for aesthetic, it's a mystery]

[Elliot's getting a look of betrayal, but Goro sighs in playful resignation as he rests his hands on his hips.]

I suppose that'll do... Yusuke, it seems we're being paired together -- I look forward to beating our friends in the most elegant manner possible.

[Trial it might be, Goro honestly has no issue with this? Yusuke is a wonderful artist and they're both perfectionists with an eye for aesthetic, what could go wrong.]

[ Akira is A-Okay with teaming up with Elliot... Well. Teaming up with anyone in his friend group, really. ]

Good luck with that. We're going to win.

[ Because he knows both of them... Most likely they'll take a long time. The yeti releases them and goes to find a seat with its friend, ready to watch the sculpture contest. Akira will go ahead and approach Elliot. ]

What should we build?

So it does. While speed may be important, it is the design and final product that will be the true mark of victory.

[ YES HOW CAN ANY OF THOSE GO WRONG, FIGHT THE OTHER TEA---i mean what. ]

Do we want to go with a simple yet classic design, or try for something a little more dramatic and unique that will stand out?

[ If only he had his sketch book. He could have designed something preliminary and they could have worked from there... ]

[Yeah that's exactly why he choose you Akira. You're easy going and not a perfectionist. He doesn't want to be out here so long frostbite sets in.

But he'll meet Akira halfway, glancing over at their opposing team then looks back]

How about...traditional but with cat ears? Since we don't have a hat to give him.

[ Akira is already working on their base!! Rolling a little snowball until it's okay sized. They need to keep rolling though, so maybe Elliot can help either with pushing or with magic. Whatever you want to do. ]

That sounds good to me. I'm pretty good with sculpting, but simple is best.

[ Hmm. ]

We can add our own flair to it.

[ But. It's so tempting to just roll their snowball into the other two. ]

We're going to go big or go home, of course. Why don't we win the judge's favor with a sculpture of a yeti?

[They're gonna discuss this shit before they start. Slow and steady wins races too. Shoddy workmanship is evident in the quick.]

[ Hmm... hmm... the tall imposing figure of a yeti, made out of the materials of the creature's home. What an interesting idea. ]

That would be something different... I have never drawn a yeti, let alone sculpted one in snow.

[ He twists around to frame the creature with his figures, drinking in the details - the thickness of the creature's coat, to the the size and imposing stature it carries with it. ]

Luckily, we have a live model present. We will be able to replicate the details to pin point accuracy this way.

Haha, okay! I'll start on the middle part.

[Elliot too will kneel down and start rolling his own ball. Thankfully, he's not so weak that he can't push some snow around, so he'll do it without magic.

But after a few minutes, when his ball is sizable enough to be a middle piece he sure glances over to see Yusuke and Goro still...in the design process and not started.

Uh, okay. He'll call out to a yeti]

U-Um, sorry, but is there a time limit on this...? [The yeti shakes his head and grunts encouragingly] No? Well, okay.

[ They have their base ready over here, so Akira works on the head as Elliot covers the midsection. It's a sizable snowball in his arms as he looks to the yetis, then to their friends. MM.

They're very capable. Intelligent. And also perfectionists that need a deadline. Akira won't implement one and instead focuses on sculpting the face of their snowcat. ]

... That's a problem.

[ EVERYONE NEEDS TO MAKE THEIR MISTAKES. ]

You can't rush perfection, Akira. That's why I was born a little past my due date.

[Don't you ever just hate him. Goro's going to rubs his hands together and start building the beginnings of the yeti mound, to better shape it later.]

Yusuke, if you'd like, I can assist with some of the more fine details with my saber... the heat from the blade should do well to heat and refreeze the snow very quickly into a more hardy ice. It'll keep its form that way.

[ Yes. Sometimes the hate is understandable, Goro. When you say things like this... ]

Ah, yes. We can sculpt and form the shape into more delicate structures... it will be wonderful, and we can do something light and delicate with the fur if we can spin ice.

[ He swings his finger-frame around to capture Elliot and Goro in his frame, and looks thoughtful. ] Raw charm versus artistic grace... what a true challenge.

[ ... Why is he dating you? He just looks at Elliot with a Look. Do you feel his pain, friend? Anyway, he shows him the head of their snowman. It's rather cute, simplistic, but still charming. The head has a traced out kaomoji face with some simple whiskers. The ears are also there.

Hard to mistake it for anything else other than a cat. ]

You can put the middle piece on top of it now.

[ Wow. So quick. So fast. ]

[He looks back at Akira with the same Look. He does feel your pain Akira. Their dear friends, your dear boyfriend- they are weird. Also why is Yusuke finger-framing him. What is going on.

in fact he's just going to try to ignore that weird duo and comment on Akira's snowman head]

Aww, that's so cute! Hold on, I'll get it on there.

[Lifting up the middle piece! It takes a little heaving on his part, but he's able to get it on and starts packing it in so it stays on there.]

- There!

[ Weird flocks together, Elliot. How dare you. He is framing your majesty, along with Akira's.

This is all I've got for now. ]

Yusuke, if you could help me with gathering the large amount of snow we'll be needing..?

[please stop admiring elliot and akira. goro is one person and they need a lot, a lot of snow for a life-sized yeti to end all yetis.]

There's no point in watching a lost cause, after all.

[ It only takes a couple of extra details before their cute cat snowman is ready. He doesn't even check to see how far Yusuke and Goro have progressed since...

Just based on Goro's words, they haven't even started. ]

Anything else you want to add, Elliot?

[ They don't need to be here for the judging, so... ]

[A lost cause...they haven't even started jeez. But Elliot looks over the cat snowman. It's cute. Simple, but cute. ]

Hmmm...

[He makes an "Oh!" sound before he bends down and starts making a lump trail in the snow, making a quick tail on the cat. It only takes a few minutes to complete, since it's pretty easy]

There! Now he has a nice tail!
