When she saw her sister(? yes, they were sisters) begin to fall, there was a sluggish stirring of some of the spindly, shadowy legs. A hand sleepily reached out from the water to catch her--but it wasn't needed. And she was too slow, anyway. The girl had caught herself just fine.
